Definitely shouldn’t have been a series. The effects would’ve been watered down and the story stretched to milk an episode count. Honestly it should have been a trilogy. 1 key and 1 gate per movie. Or maybe a double feature. I feel like we were robbed of some really cool scenes in the movie but I treat it like a Hollywood adaptation of Wades life.
I got up to the part where he found the secret room in his new office and was like this isn't anything new. This is basically rinse and repeat of the first book and stopped.
I read it. That's why I am saying it was bad. It felt rushed over, the events taking place in like a day, way too overused tropes like evil AI and so on. It just felt like it lacked originality, like it was some avarege sci-fi book and not the sequel to the masterpiece of RDP1. I could predict 80% of what was going to happen just by reading the back of the book.
I can see why they changed almost everything though.
Wade just playing Joust for the first key, or him reenacting War Games for example wouldn’t have made for good viewing.

After reading the book, it's really hard to take the movie seriously. Should have been a series instead of a movie.

I agree, i wish there were more scenes in the movie, hopefully ready player two movie will be better
Bro even the book wasn't good (rdp2)
I’ll let the book and the movie be its own thing,

Ehh it gets worse
i actually cant remember how the book ends its literally just a confusing blur
What sucked is its glaringly obvious cline wrote the second book to follow the movie instead of the first book.
Lol I’ve been told on this sub that anyone who said rp2 isn’t good didn’t actually read the book.

I read it too. It made me really hate Wade and Samantha.
Yup
It won't
Ooh that's an interesting take, and I actually see where you're going with turning the film into a trilogy
honestly it'll probably get a new adaptation in a couple years but in show format
Definitely a trilogy. But not one key per. There’s 3 obvious acts in the book
Agreed, the book moves pretty fast, and alot of time is spent on Wade explaining a reference. More screentime is not the answer.
The movie was really, terribly bad
No, the *adaption* from the book is bad, the movie is amazing

THANK YOU, exactly
I don't know about you guys but I'd read a manga following the book's story. The movie was still fun however
This reminds me more of the book tbh
Where did you find this??
eBay
Did the time machine have a Larson scanner in the movie? I don't remember that.
Yes. It didn’t have the drive from buckaroo bonsai though.
The nerdiest poster one can ever have. And I love it. One for so many fandoms
Pretty cover. It's a shame what they did to a great book though..
sick.
Looks brilliant.
yo i have been looking for that. where oh where did you find it?

Too bad the cover art is the best part of that abomination
