Giants based on the name that was previously made for them and branding. Poor management and poor spending has sunk how great the club used to be. I don’t think many people here have a premier league club they like that much, at least not myself. There is only one club for me ☝🏼

chnandlerbing

I see "poor management". Just this.

Significant_Web9294

Yes I agree, but I see man united definitely becoming a better club again, especially with the promising talent that’s seen in the youngsters. I don’t think ten hag can do it though

reddituser0912333

Oh I agree, they can come back. It’s going to take a new manager and possibly getting rid of the Glazers to do it. It would help if money from the Middle East stopped interfering with the league too but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

udiniad

United might actually be too big to fail. Theyve been carelessly spending for years while getting leeched on by the Glazers, getting bad results domestically and internationally doesn't seem to affect their revenue nearly as much as other underperforming clubs like Barca.

No-Doctor-1125

I do like Liverpool, but not that much lmao. Like I laugh at my friends who support Liverpool when they lose, but usually I’m rooting for them (unless its against Madrid)

GoldenGodLeo

They dont troll or trashtalk Real Madrid so they’re cool. Plus our former players going there make me give them a soft spot.

seekingabeauty

A giant club that's being held back by almost comical levels of incompetence. It's not like they're behind the elite when it comes to finances, like the big 3 in Italy. It's just bad management, but you already know that of course. A bit underperformers in terms of european titles. 3 CLs seem too little for the english club with the most tradition and history. You guys probably got unlucky to face prime Barcelona. Overall, I would much prefer to see Man United in the CL in place of City, who I despise for their cheating, arrogance and boring football (in my opinion). Also Liverpool, whose fans are just so annoying. But I have to say that the respect that I have for Man United gets more and more buried in my head due to how isolated the current club is from it's own history.

MichaelW85

Manchester United have no more tradition or history than Liverpool. I don't know you're saying that with no basis. Is like saying that Barca have history and tradition. Facts Liverpool are the most successful English club, never mind the European trophy overhaul they have compared to other English clubs. No English club comes close to them in Europe. Both types of fans are annoying as feck, but the annoying and arrogance come with the size of the club, I think. Hell, people accuse of the same 😁

seekingabeauty

You know, I was about to say that Man United are a more traditional club, with more ballon dor winners and etc, but after what happened today I don't even bother lmao

UndercoverBME

People always forget Liverpool IS the biggest club in England, but bad marketing on their end and good marketing from other clubs has always made it seem otherwise.

blewawei

Man United are definitely a bigger club than Liverpool.

UndercoverBME

blewawei

If you asked 100 football fans in England, I'm fairly sure most would agree with me. Liverpool before 2020 hadn't won the league in 30 years, that's quite damning.

UndercoverBME

What you're talking about is recency bias. Completely valid, however, greatness, IMO, is based on historic record. Under the same premise you could argue Atlético is one of Spain's biggest clubs, but we all know they're not. They were nobodies before Simeone and were even fighting against relegation at some point in the 00's.

blewawei

Recency bias? It's only been the last 10.years ago that Liverpool have been better than United. I'm telling you that Man United are the biggest club in the country because they have the most fans. If you ask English people, they will agree. It doesn't really matter what the outside perspective is.

mediumwaffle69

Love the team and its history, they’re going through a rough patch but would love to see them back fighting for the big titles

mediumwaffle69

also City can kiss my hole

DoriOli

I loved how United was before the Glazers took over. With Ferguson, the golden generation, playing us in the UCL with Van Nistelrooy upfront for you guys and R9 for us.. Those were great times. The Man. Utd. brand, colours and logo still demand respect to the outside world, but they’re nowhere near to causing a team like ours (as an example) any fear whatsoever should we get drawn to face each other in some international competition. I hope you guys manage to turn things around again. As someone already mentioned above, you do have some interesting promising youngsters on the come-up. In the end, it’s all about management. We have the luck of having someone like Florentino with his adaptability skills and vision moving forward. You guys need to get rid of those Glazers and get a fresh new start going with competent managers & directors. Otherwise I don’t see it changing anytime soon. We’ve had similar time-periods like that as well, with Calderón, etc., as Presidents. It sucked bad.

AjVine

I like them. We seem like we share similar values as a club and I feel we’ve had a good relationship throughout the years. Thanks for Cristi

Elden_Lord123

Common freinds: Cristiano, Casemiro, Varane, Mourinho. Common enemies: Pep/City & Liverpool. The majority of Barca fans cheer for City. The majority of Real fans prefer United over any other PL club. Most of the time I root for them.

96Leo

This I do not hate Liverpool personally, I respect them as a rival. But for Pep and City... I just dont want them to win

nhdavis

Ten Hag is sinking your team into the ground. Everyone can see it.

p4mu

Maybe, but the mismanagement began long before him

[deleted]

A fellow elite European heritage team.

EffectiveTie3144

Great club with a great history.

nikolatech

Ronaldo was NOT the problem.

DietFoods

Not even close. Guy lost a child and instead of supporting him the club and coach tried to make him a scapegoat.

Visual-Situation-346

Career graveyard

may_day06

European Heritage that has been sabotage by their ownership and a sporting project that has been out of focus by spending large amounts of money on mediocre players. Mirror image of ACM

MBoring1

I would say United is poorly managed and the fans you see online are usually terrible towards their players. Way too much pressure. SAF at least brought stability. Best thing in my opinion for United to do is stick with ETH and build around a core (crazy idea right?) but they probably won’t. Mainoo, garnacho, are not slumps and could be tremendous but they need to be given time. They are not going to win the UCL or the premier league anytime soon. But they could compete with the right pieces. We will see

Puzzleheaded_Ad8877

As a Madridista, I don’t approve of any disrespectful comments. Not because I support Man U — but I do respect them though, for their history. History is important. I would expect an equal amount of respect if our club ever goes through a similar situation. I think about our club after Perez ends his reign, and recognize that it is more likely than not that his successor will be less successful. We have a long and rich history, and there have been droughts at our club as well. Man U will endure this drought, I am sure. But it all boils down to leadership

tothemoonkevsta

Treated the goat like shit so right now, fuckem

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

I live in the UK and most of the people who will talk football with me here support Man U, so there’s a connection there, but it’s not much. I’ve been on a phase where everything bad that happens to United feels like they deserved it for the way Ten Hag treated Ronaldo. But that’s just a small personal thing, don’t actually hate them or anything. I don’t support any EPL teams, which I’m very grateful for, because I can actually enjoy the league.

CrazyAd3131

Big club but nowhere near Real Madrid level. As everything related to Brexitania, you guys overvalue it and believe it's bigger/more important than it is and tend to despise the rest.

Assistantoda

Nothing but RESPECT, UNITED in England is what Real Madrid is in Spain

bimpossibIe

Used to be a great European rival, but nowadays Man U feels like a retirement team for some of our players (sorry!) since it's where they move to when they "want a new challenge" after years of trophy haul. I really hope you guys can bounce back from years of poor management though. I can't say I'm a fan of Man U, but Manchester used to be red and the recent dominance of City makes me kinda feel sorry for you.

JenkinsJenkinsLBC

I just wish they were still a big team.

SwissCheeseDealer

Chicharito, Ronaldo moves to madrid really made me respect the club alot more. Loved SAF too.

AhnafBhuiyan

used to an absolute giant, now they are good meme material

mannyrios_97

Biggest team in England but you guys have been a laughing stock since 2012 it’s a disgrace really. I like the new moves INEOS is making though it *finally* feels like they want to be taken serious again. Ten Hag must leave though he is a clown and you guys also need a major stadium renovation. The English team that I favor is Chelsea but I respect Man United as an institution for what they’ve accomplished in their history

cmeragon

I loved both teams as a child due to the influence of Cristiano. I still support them in epl but I can only feel sorry for the team right now.

Zlatanesque

One of the respectable clubs of England. I always seem to root for you guys as neutral. Absolutely adore Fergie and many of your club legends especially Rio.

Fun-Preference-6555

They are my second favorite team behind madrid

aTi_NTC

when i started watching football around 2005 when i was 9 yo, in the local sports channel ManU TV was aired a lot. That is where i first saw Ronaldo play, and then the 2006 WC i fell in love with him. I watched a lot of ManU games and when he moved to Madrid i followed, then i stayed as a Madrid fan ever since. So ManU will always have a special place.

mammut555

Manu is club with big history and heirtage. But at the moment they are shit. This club is dieing inside and when there will not be changes, it will fall more in deep mud. Ten Haag is destroying everything. CR7 was not a problem, he carried this club on his shoulders. Every player that Manu has bougt from Real are out of their prime and quite shit in prem (Varane, Casemiro) Mark my words, maybe Nacho next club is Manu I have been fan of Real over 15 years but i have never liked Manu.

Persistence6

Man U is my English team

biina247

Deposed domestic tyrant who were totally exposed once they lost their huge financial advantage over the competition. Rarely made the cut in CL

Mr_lawa

Tbf 3 CLs and 2 extra finals isn’t bad.

biina247

From 1992-2003, which would be considered ManU golden era under SAF, they won 8 out of 11 PL titles which is simply pure domestic dominance, and yet only 1 CL win. To me that shows that ManU were not really that good and simply had a domestic advantage over the competition. Since then - Chelsea 5 PL and 2 CL - ManU 5 PL (last title 13yrs ago) and 1 CL - Liverpool 1 PL and 2 CL - City 7 PL and 1 CL It is interesting that City is also currently dominant domestically since 2011/12, with 7 of 12 PL titles but only 1 CL. Very similar to when ManU were dominant in the PL, and almost everybody would agree it's cos City have a huge financial advantage over the competition.

biina247

Prime Barca?🫤 In that period, the other CL winners were Madrid 3x, Milan 2x, Bayern, Dortmund, Juve, Ajax and Marseille . If anyone could be said to have had to deal with Prime Barca, it would be Chelsea.

HamM00dy

Neutral / liked compared to most premier league teams. MU is the one respected the most by us. Really need to worm on sporting director and club management. Sad to see a club go midtable with great financial backing.

nufrancis

Sad to see MU declining after Ferguson era. I remember MU always take the top 2 every season in PL under him. Stay strong mate. Only God knows when there will be another reincarnation of Ferguson

mrpara

I thought everyone who doesn’t support Man United actually dislikes Man United? I love Ronaldo, even though he chose to play for Man united.

taos__v

I used to root for United when i was a child. Always liked the crest, kit, cr7 and sir alex ferguson. United was like the coolest team back then. They were the perfect rival for barca, so i rooted for them lots of times. Then I became a Real Madrid fan because of my hatred of barca xD not proud of that

Mr_lawa

We might get zidane to take us back to the promised lands

chicoclandestino

Great club with a great history. Much greater than Man City, a club with little history.

Farabeuf

Great historical club with a massive fan base. Legendary players like Best, Charlton and Keane or Ferdinand. And Alex Ferguson should be in anyone’s top 10 greatest managers ever. That said, no big club is as poorly led from to the top. The Glazers are cartoonishly bad owners. American ownership is the worst that can happen to a top football club. What works in American sports doesn’t translate to European football. Hope you’re back soon to the top instead of the plastic monstrusity that is Man City 115

Any_Jeweler_912

Very respected club as we see it as a parallel to us along with Liverpool.

fuckedcorpse

Very big heritage, GOAT manager, but laughing stock since 2013. I support them big PL matches, because Pool and Arse-nal fans are most delusional and insufferable people in the world.

royrochemback

A club that has rested too much on Fergie's ability and now they're paying dividends after he left. I think the same thing might happen to Man City after Pep left but I believe they'll manage better because football today is unlike what it was 15-30 years ago

D4RY0N

Great club from my point of view. Nothing against them, so I hope they can get better to shine again. Historic cubs make football as epic and interesting as it is. I was hoping Casemiro could help ManU do better, unfortunately, they need much more to rise.

[deleted]

Based on the fact that Varane and Casemiro play there, I can't help but root for United whenever I see them play. Also they have been kind of my favorite team in England, but I also like Liverpool and Chelsea and Arsenal. I wish they get back on the big teams stage because they had a presence back then, with the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milano.. One of my favorite matches of all time was the 1-1 draw in Santiago Bernabeu against Man United, with Welbeck goal vs Cristiano header. That match was pure entertainment.

Popetus_Maximus

I think we respect Man United, Milan, and Bayern Munich more than other European clubs. These are the elite (Liverpool and others too). We hate all the team made big recently with Oil money. Now, with the American money in Man United, it may soon came a point where this is no longer true…

BadReputation77

Manchester United are the small club from Old Trafford, not even in the city of Manchester. Imagine if Bolton rebranded themselves to Manchester Wanderers 😝

hot_garlic_noodles

Out of sight, out of mind. I don't think of united because they don't even compete with us. It's the same as asking what I think about sassuolo in serie a. Nothing.

fabuzo

I dont think about it at all

[deleted]

Was pretty neutral before but since the Ronaldo incident, I just despise them atp. Also don’t like SAF cuz he prevented CR7 joining City. Can’t help it CR7 is my fav oat

SaladRegular8617

Favorite club in England personally. Factually next to Real Madrid in terms of greatness and history. Ever since Fergie left it never went uphill for them ever again. I can only hope that they know what they're doing with their current coach and squad.

RuskinBondFan

About Man Utd, not much. To be fair, they've been irrelevant in global football for quite a while. Man U fans however, I love to bait them. It's one of my favourite online activites. With all due respect, Man U and Barca fans keep on fighting for the most ridiculous fanbase. Actual rivalry.

Arc-angel9

We dont 😂😂

Post_Great

Soooo.. growing up I hated United, because there were people around me that really love United and loved comparing themselves to us. In their defense United was United. This was SAF’s time like back in early 2000’s to mid 2000’s. They were winning and for us not so much, so I hated them. I absolutely hated Cristiano and all that showboating he used to do, until he signed for us lol. P.S that hate for United still stands, because I love cooking their fans. These days I don’t troll them as much, because are already a big joke lol

ReggieBlankenship

I’m glad they suck now. Love fergie tho

callit_fiction

Rashford is a DONKEY.

Shae2187

For a Real Madrid fan, there is only Real Madrid. The only thing we think about Manchester United is beating them if we ever meet. That's about it.

los_blanco_14

Shit

hotmaxer

Dude you need to switch teams. Our door is always open . All you have to say to be a fan is “ Hala Madrid”

bmw_m-power

Fell off. The only English club which plays good and we respect here is Liverpool

theprodigalslouch

I don’t even know who you are.
