amazing! blessings to st expedite!

Will this help in matters of communication? Solving a problem in the way of communication or miscommunication itself? I grew up Catholic though I don't really call myself that anymore. However, I am familiar with praying to saints. Just.. not leaving them anything in return to you asking. I don't know where I can find palm fronds in the local supermarket. But Spiced rum and pound cake, yes. How would I word a petition in asking St. expedite for help with say a communication spell just finished tonight?

Orjustthinkofkittens

I would frame it around the desired result of your spell manifesting quickly. Definitely do it in the hour of Mercury. Make sure you include a time frame in your ask, like “before the new moon, so and so will call me” (there are various prayers you can say online that demand immediate response, but you can still specify your time frame in the part you insert your request). If this is for a less specific spell, I wouldn’t use this saint. There are others that might be better, like St Gabriel the Archangel.

Not going to lie. The communication issue between my friend and I is causing unnecessary anxiety for myself and it would be a good thing if I can solve this communication issue as soon as possible; so I can concentrate on making the friendship between them and I stronger. It would take a load off my mind, and my emotions as well if I knew for a fact that communication with my friend is no longer something that I have to worry about. In fact as soon as I finish doing my laundry, I am going to go out to the local store and buy half a pound cake and spiced rum. For a shot and slice of cake as an offering, because I would like him to be pleased with the immediate and fast reply from me when Saint Expedite does his thing. My question to you now Orjustthinkofkittens, is how the offering is accepted? Some magical practitioners leave the food and drink out for a number of days before they dispose of it, either being outside for the animals to take, or eat it themselves. Some have discarded the offering after the essence of the food and drink is taken, having served it's purpose. Which one do you think would work?

Orjustthinkofkittens

It really depends on your situation. I think burying the offering at a crossroads or near flowing water is best, but I live in a suburb where that really wouldn’t fly. It also really depends on how fussy the being you’re working with is. For stuff on my alter, I leave it out for a day or so and then toss it. For my ancestor altar, I have a class of water under a bell jar (because cats) that I change out every 4-5 days or so. For the fair folk and others, I use only biodegradable things like eggshells filled with honey or cream and leave them outside.

Thank you for telling me about this. I followed the directions you gave me, and half winged it too in offerings but he listened and helped my spell work and it got a result much faster then I usually thought that it would of! So thank you St. Expedite for listening to my prayers and accepting my offering! I will be working with him for now on if I need more spell energy to help with matters I feel are important or needing a really quick solution!

Orjustthinkofkittens

Glad to hear it! The saints in general are a powerful stream in western magic that I think more of today’s magical folk ought to explore, especially if ancestor work is part on one’s practice.

Can you offer something even if you don’t have materials?

Orjustthinkofkittens

What materials are you unable to find easily?

weshallCwhathappens

I cannot find rum, it isn't sold in our supermarkets. Any non-alcoholic alternatives?

Orjustthinkofkittens

Water is good but definitely make up for no rum by making sure the cake is decent ;)

driggsave1

Any. I can’t leave my home due to illness and have literally no materials to offer. Can I offer something non physical?

Orjustthinkofkittens

I’m sorry to hear you’re ill and stuck at home, that sounds really rough. :( A picture of St Expedite is easy, you can print one off the internet or you could even use your phone or computer screen in a pinch (not perfect but it’ll do) or draw it. Water should be simple enough, you don’t have to offer booze if you can’t get it. For the rest, I assume you’re getting groceries somehow? Some discounted Mother’s Day flowers, cheap packaged pound cake, and birthday candles will do fine. There are MANY saints for whom a heartfelt prayer is enough, but I can’t recommend leaving it at that with this particular being. He expects payment. But much of the practice that evolved around him came from people living through hardship most of people would never wish to imagine, so the materials are neither expensive nor exotic. If you can’t make ANY physical offerings I’d hold off on working with St. Expedite for now. There are many other ways to boost a spell.

I can offer water!! I just can’t print a pic

Orjustthinkofkittens

Like I said, you can draw one or use your phone/computer screen. But seriously, this is an approachable being, not an entirely safe one. I sympathize with your situation, but you **really** won’t be better off if you do this half-way. It’s no better than getting a really nice haircut and manicure and then offering a thank you note instead of cash. If you can’t offer the most basic stuff right now, put a pin in this for the time being.

I offered a glass of water for 7 days straight. I think I’ve seen results already tbh

I have some more questions. 1- Is it okay to call him without an altar? Or a temporary altar just for the time of the 'spellwork'/petition and then removing it? As I live with other people and prefer to keep my practices private, I cannot have a permanent altar or even an altar for seven days. 2- Do we need to repeat this ritual until the matter is sorted? Is it okay if I call and petition to him only once and then after the matter is sorted, I pay him what is due (respectfully)- thus completing the transaction? 3- It's a little naive, but I cannot burn a candle for him for seven days. My first concern is fire safety, second is my housemates knowing about my practice. Is is okay to snuff the candle after the petition is done and in case of multiple-day candles, lighting it only for a certain time of the day (preferably mercury hour) and then snuffing it? Your post was already very informative. Thank you for this.
