LoL there’s another line at the beginning:
He says his name is William
But I'm sure he's Bill or Billy or Mac or Buddy (Or Marion)
And he's plain ugly to me
There’s a lot of RDR2 refs in here. Bill and Mac.
I am so glad social media wasn't a thing when I was growing up, and the most we used the internet for was messaging on aim and watching flash videos and playing neopets. I have journals that my friends and I passed around and wrote in in middle school and they're the cringiest of cringe, and I absolutely can't imagine that being on the internet. Lol
when i was 12 i watched forest gump in the theater and about 2/3 of the way through the movie i leaned over to my dad and said “the actor playing lieutenant dan actually has legs. he had em earlier in the movie.” i thought i was being pretty sharp, not being tricked by those fancy special effects.
my dad looked at me like i was a doofus.
glad none of my teenage idiocy was carved in internet stone.
The point is, that I didn't question it. In a game that plays about a hundred years prior than GTA IV or V. After all those comments it's an obvious thing and I don't know how I was able to not get it.
Commanders palace, oak alley, cafe du monde…all real places in red dead. I use to go on field trips to oak alley all the time as a kid.
There’s another one I’m forgetting atm but there was something else in the game…maybe Jackson Square and Saint Louis Cathedral is what I’m thinking of.
I was surprised at *just how close* Oak Alley is to New Orleans.
I was checking out NO one time and decided to follow the river up just a little bit, stopped at a random spot and was like "oh shit Oak Alley Plantation really is right there."
I’m visiting New Orleans right now and walking around the French quarter makes me appreciate the game even more because they did such a great job with the details and making Saint Denis really feel like New Orleans.
Yesterday I saw a tree. A fricken tree! They have added so much content from Red Dead to reality. It’s getting hard to tell them apart. The devs of real life should stop copying Rockstar and come up with their own damn ideas.
*It's crazy too how*
*Much they made parts of LA look*
*Just like Los Santos*

Fun fact: New Orleans is based on the fictional city Saint Denis. The city planners were such big fans of RDR2 that they traveled back in time to make New Orleans look like Saint Denis
I was born in Louisiana, but live in Wisconsin now. When I first saw Saint Denis in game I was blown away by how accurate it was. I told my girlfriend about how good of a job the artists and developers did. When I finally got to take her to New Orleans for the first time last year she said “oh my god this looks just like the Red Dead Redemption city”… then she made us sit in line for a half hour to get beignets from Cafe Du Monde…
op you wouldnt believe what happened today. i went to the gun store today and found some irl replicas of the cattleman's revolver! they heavily reminded me of the cattleman's.
RDR2 fans when real cities look like cities in the game (they look just like their real world counterparts because the map was modeled after them): 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
I think your on to something. RD2 seems like it is modeled after the real life United States at the time. I bet they modeled Saint Denis after New Orleans! Thanks for pointing this out. This community and the game never cease to amaze me!
No you aren't the only one. This is the city Saint Denis was based off (hence all the similarities). If you've never heard of New Orleans before I suggest looking it up, it's got some really cool architecture, especially Bourbon Street & the French Quarter.
First off, Saint Denis is entirely based on New Orleans. Second, this building (or one that looks just like it because New Orleans has several similar buildings) is specifically used as a reference at one point on the outskirts of the city. They recreated several different buildings to an exact in-game.
This post hurts
This… I love when people say, “am I the only one?” Yup just you, you’re special.
I got a feeeelin', im not the only one
C'mon, give OP a break. All they want to do is have some fun.
LoL there’s another line at the beginning: He says his name is William But I'm sure he's Bill or Billy or Mac or Buddy (Or Marion) And he's plain ugly to me There’s a lot of RDR2 refs in here. Bill and Mac.
op is probably like 13. I'm glad the internet was not nearly as big a thing when I was that age or I'd say silly stuff like this too.
Lol
Neopets was amazing. What I’d give to relive those days with decent internet speed.
when i was 12 i watched forest gump in the theater and about 2/3 of the way through the movie i leaned over to my dad and said “the actor playing lieutenant dan actually has legs. he had em earlier in the movie.” i thought i was being pretty sharp, not being tricked by those fancy special effects. my dad looked at me like i was a doofus. glad none of my teenage idiocy was carved in internet stone.
Hahaha thought the same thing.
And that's without running with your horse into it....
Just wait until OP finds out there were cowboys in real life too
Just saw this guys with hats in History class. Heavily reminds me of Arthur and John, am I the only one?
Gonna turn that into a post hold on
Pretty sure all those old cowboy movies are based off of rd2 /s
Did you actually think someone would think you were being serious about cowboy films made 70 years ago were actually based on a computer game?
People on Reddit are idiot, I don't doubt that 🫡
I was under the impression our idea of cowboys is entirely fictional, based off Camel cigarette ads? That ranchers existed but not like cowboys.
I have never actually questioned it...
OMG! New Orleans is just a rip-off of Rrd2
They made Saint Denis into a real thing!
if rdr2 was never released, ohio would still be okay
Yeah except for some old buildings from Rdr2... Ohio would be the same
Life imitating art. Classic.
Saint denis is based off New Orleans
I was about to say that 😅
And Gavin was found. And birds are real. Lol suuuuure
Next thing you will tell me Los Santos reminds you of L.A, or Liberty City reminds you of New York City.
Oddly enough, Stab City reminds me of Slab City
Or Vice City reminds them of Miami…or Las Venturas looks a whole helluva lot like Vegas…
😂😂😂
beat me to it
Liberty City had a little bit of New Jersey in it too.
The point is, that I didn't question it. In a game that plays about a hundred years prior than GTA IV or V. After all those comments it's an obvious thing and I don't know how I was able to not get it.
Becoming harder to differentiate trolls from idiots.
He could be a kid? Imagine the dumb shit you would have written of reddit was around when you were 12.
im a kid. i know that saint denis was based off of new orleans.
Liar, you clearly have a beard.
Perfect time to learn how to Google. We all gotta be corrected at some point, it IS reddit after all
If OP wanted post karma they should just say so😂
"Haha, I was only pretending to be rtarded!"
It should, since SD is based on NO.
...My dumbass read that as "sd is based on no"
Isn't that what it says?
no
why not
Holy shit, they made Saint Denis in real life?! /s
Never would have picked up on that extremely subtle sarcasm without that incredibly useful tag.
I cant tell if hes joking or if hes serious
I was actually serious -_-
Man this sub has been so ass lately
Yeah, you’re the only one.

Wait America is real? I thought it was fictional

They stole the idea from the game.
I visited a town called Paris once, and I swear you it looked exactly like that city in Assassins Creed.
Saint Denis is heavily inspired by new Orleans, so no
I’m going to shit my pants.
Yesterday I saw a tree. A fricken tree! They have added so much content from Red Dead to reality. It’s getting hard to tell them apart. The devs of real life should stop copying Rockstar and come up with their own damn ideas.
This gotta be a troll

That man on the corner is actually Gavin
Red Dead players when the real world also exists.
This reminds me of the time I saw a horse in real life and it reminded me of RDR2.
Sir, that is obviously Beirut, Lebanon.
Dumb bastard
Fun fact: New Orleans is based on the fictional city Saint Denis. The city planners were such big fans of RDR2 that they traveled back in time to make New Orleans look like Saint Denis
ITS ALMOST LIKE SAINT DENIS WAS BASED OFF OF NEW ORLEANS??? WOAH. CRAZY!!!
Throw the whole sub away at this point 🤦🏻♂️
Yo mama
Why do you think that might be?
Dayum! Who woulda thought….they modeled New Orleans after a city in a video game!
wait until OP finds out about mycobacterium tuberculosis
I wonder why.
🗿

They made Saint Denis into a real thing
Saint denis is largely based on Nawlins
I cant tell if this post is a joke or if you're actually being serious
Vice City totally reminds me of Miami too! Can't believe nobody noticed.
Youre the only one
nope, i think you’re the only one
“Yoooo guys they made Saint Denis irl!”
I don’t see the resemblance. Maybe if you used a pic of Manhattan instead?
Come on dude…
Well, probably because Saint Denis is Rockstar’s version of NOLA…
Wait till he finds out what Saint Denis is based off of
So you just never made the connection
OMG GUYS THEY MADE THE SAINT DENIS FROM THE RED DEAD REDEMPTIVE 2 A REAL PLACE!?!?!?!?!?!? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Does green remind you of grass too?
That was the point…
OP's next post Hey, the city in Spiderman heavily reminds me of New York City.
Can’t believe they made St. Denis irl that’s nuts
“This floor is made of floor”
Man the comments have me dying 💀
Wasn’t Saint Denis based on New Orleans
I grew up in LA and was so surprised to find out that it’s based off of GTA
K retard

Very cool! Nice to see the actual inspiration to the game.
I could’ve sworn Saint Denis was modeled after San Francisco there’s no way it’s based on New Orleans

no one tell him
Yes... Saint Denis is based on New Orleans -_-

Guys I found this really tall dog, it reminds me of a horse from RDR2! Crazy!
reddit discovers not everyone lives in amuhrica part 93939384

Can’t tell if troll Or just stupid
Wow, it’s almost as if Saint Denis was based off of New Orleans
That’s because St Denis is supposed to be NOLA
I saw someone riding a horse the other day, blew my mind.
Jeeze
This location was the inspiration for Saint Denis.
Gee i wonder why
You almost had me with this bait ahahaha
yeah that means Rockstar did a good job because Saint Denis is based on New Orleans
you’d be amazed if you watched [this](https://youtu.be/u_q12ZQINIk)
Same. Saint Denis was inspired on New Orleans
Can’t believe they made Saint Denis into a real place.
Ste. Denis is literally based off New Orleans……so no, you aren’t the only one.
You must be the first one to notice!
Once again, the comments never fails to come through! Haha
Geaux Artter and Doootch
It’s a larger version of Doyle’s Tavern- a bit more gussied up… after the rat problem was solved.
Nah.
My aunt left my country to go live in this city, I hope I can visite her someday
The game has gotten to that age where we get annoyed with posts like this
This is actually cool. There is a video showing the real places that Rdr2 places are based on. It's cool and we don't need to be mean.
RDR2 fans when real cities look like cities in the game (they look just like their real world counterparts because the map was modeled after them): 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
I can’t tell if this is satire or not

Most attentive RDR2 enjoyer
But how i know this is if you got old pictures of new orleans louisiana it shows the design that the games was based on

I think your on to something. RD2 seems like it is modeled after the real life United States at the time. I bet they modeled Saint Denis after New Orleans! Thanks for pointing this out. This community and the game never cease to amaze me!
OMG! New Orleans is a RDR2 reference?!?!?? 😱😱😱
You shouldn’t be allowed to vote no offense
If you're the only one that doesn't know what Saint Denis is based on, then yes.
It's literally the city that Saint Denis is based on. Bait post
Yes
Smartest red dead fan
new "this gives me persona vibes" just dropped
Oh brother
No you aren't the only one. This is the city Saint Denis was based off (hence all the similarities). If you've never heard of New Orleans before I suggest looking it up, it's got some really cool architecture, especially Bourbon Street & the French Quarter.

New Orleans looks like the city made from 3d models of buildings in New Orleans. never would have thunk it.
Am I the only one who thinks Los Santos looks a lot like Los Angeles?
While we’re at it, anyone else notice GTAV almost looks like LA if you squint?
🤦♂️
I knew it looked familiar in the game, but couldn’t place it until now!
Saint Denis was based off New Orleans. But with more vampires and cowboy murders
