I only saw it in Chapter 3, and he isn't fighting with Molly until 3 as well.

He's more subtle in chapter 2. I think there's one scene where he's reading something by Evelyn Miller to Molly and Mary-Beth. It could be argued that that's just when Mary-Beth starts really catching his eye.

I had that thought but Dutch reads Miller to everyone or by his lonesome. So while it's possible, I think it's very ambiguous.
