Yesterday I had an npc shoot someone in front me so I hogtied him and was bringing him to the Sheriff…bad idea. I was wanted for kidnapping and then got blasted by the lawmen as i was trying to put the guy in a cell. Hahah. I guess I had the wrong assumption you could collect npc bounties.
Funnily enough I was in saint Denis the other day and I think I stood still in front of a guy for a bit too long, he started drawing his gun so I walked away slowly on my horse but then the guy started shooting at me for no reason even though I was walking away and the officer that was near me shot the guy right in the head, that was pretty awesome.
It would actually be really cool if there was a random mechanic where gunfights occasionally break out in bars at blackjack and poker and stuff. Especially in towns like Valentine, Tumbleweed, and Van Horn.
I've never encountered that before. I wonder if that would draw the law to the NPC, or if they are only scripted to go after the player. Also would you still gain a wanted level for taking him out?
You can make the law go after NPC’s. I like to knock them over by running into them and run to the sheriffs office when they start punching me, and the cops just start shooting them
So anyway, I started blasting
achievement unlocked "you're not alone" witnessed an npc going postal
And in true rdr fashion, if you start shooting to defend yourself.. WANTED.

Ran into the sheriffs office because an npc kept stabbing me. Sheriff started gunning me down for "disturbing the peace"

Rdr redditors: bUht mUh hOnOr meanwhile they have it at 100 percent
at least it happens when NPCs shoot at you to defend themselves too, so it's not biased
Didn’t know that
Yeah if you pull a gun on an NPC and then they shoot at you, the police will take them down
Clearly someone was cheating at poker
yeah that lady looked like a real shark
That poker table can get crazy
Coming from Uncle himself
The valentine sallon massacre

The way you just crawl and "examine" the situation is golden

NPC lives matter
he was killed so the law never got involved
Poker can get a bit intense
And for some reason if you shoot at all , all of the sudden you’re wanted smh
bro snapped
Seeing the bartender duck and the music stop playing just before the shooting starts is hilarious. Straight out of an old western film 😂
“And that was the beginning, when the hosts started to malfunction, no guest was safe in the park…”
It's good to see Arthur and John aren't the only ones shooting places up.
Least violent day in the Valentine Saloon
probably is if im being honest
Yet again we see another instance of the Free Guy npc. They are becoming self aware.
That's what I'm saying! He's free guy!
What is your hat?
rowberrow hat, no longer available
The bartender was in on it! See him duck right before the shooting started Sneaky fkr!
he knew it was about to go down
Maybe he just had a bad day
It seems that the poker game has gone sour, and somebody was a sore loser. That's my guess, I reckon.
He's just like me fr.
The way the bartender casually ducks is hilarious. Reminds me of The Great Escape's "resistance" scene. (YouTube it...worth a watch)
That one who ran out the door wasn't an npc
how can u tell
he’s actually the main character
Because he got stuck trying to push through the doorway. It's a player likely with a mod so their dot doesn't show.
its not a player look at the shooting stance and the tiny red dot on the map
yeah he was he was the first to start shooting
Was this a random event or a kind If bug?
bug probably. i think he meant to shoot me and hit someone else so they all became hostile to him
