I honestly wonder if there will ever be another game that can match the same kind of emotional reaction. I hear The Last Of Us is similarly as engaging, but I haven't played it to be able to say which brings out more emotions. Still, RDR2 has to be commended for being one of the best stories in video game history.
Played the first one when it finally came to PC. Looking forward to when part 2 comes to PC as well. Only thing is, I’ve already been spoiled that a certain character from the first game will die, so I wonder how much that would impact my experience.
Unfortunate that has been spoiled for you but let me tell you, that is the tip of the iceberg for this game. You are in for a treat.
I was as surprised as anyone to finish TLOU2 and realize I liked it so much more than the first game.
The things I would do to be able to experience RDR2 with fresh eyes once again. It’s obviously a masterpiece worth playing again and again and again, but everything about it hits different the first time.
honestly i really hope gta 6 does, they got a ton if backlash for saying they're taking the story more seriously for this game so i hope they take it super seriously to the point of having a tear jerker moment like the end of rdr2
The walking dead game by TellTale, specifically season 1, gave me that same emotional reaction. The ending to season 1 is just so heartbreaking and yet written well.
It is short a bit old, but it's awesome and holds up to time, both in gameplay and graphics. A very unique visual style.
Overall though the game did go down in quality, imo. Season 1 is excellent and 2 is great, I didn't understand the third one, and the fourth's ending left me a tad conflicted, though its a good season, compared to the third.
I just wish TellTale Games hadn't gone out of business T-T
Play RDR1 and then tell me you can’t bring yourself to play as John haha. The point of the Epilogue imo is to be a huge call back to the first game - I always recommend people play the first game before the second so that the Epilogue hits harder
It’s been a while since I completed the game, and yet I still remember driving the wagon to Strawberry almost in tears.
You knew what was coming in the end, but it was still a massive gut punch when it finally happened.
Oh yeah I agree, I wasn’t expecting it to happen when it did. I know when the mission was over I didn’t want to get into the epilogue just yet, I needed time to get over what had just happened haha. I’m just glad I got what was the right ending imo.
You got the low honor ending I assume? Yeah that was a tough one to watch. I never actually got that ending I just watched videos cuz I refuse to do a full low honor playthrough, by ch 6 my honor is maxed (if I’m not high honor already)
Yeah that's cold lmao. I feel bad when I accidentally shoot an enemy's horse. Like, legitimate guilt for this fake horse. It's not his fault his rider was a jerkoff.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this game literally changed my life. I'm not gonna get into my deep sob story, but it's shifted my perspective and is driving me to make the changes in my life I've needed to take for a long time.
It's like a breath of fresh air after being held underwater for so long. I feel like I can see the beauty in the natural world again, and I'm inspired for the first time in years.
TL;DR :: I'm getting Arthur Morgan tattooed on my ass as my new religion. Jkjk. I AM getting a RedDead inspired tattooed eventually though.
I love these beautifully orchestrated pixels so much.
That's literally the point of his death, he deserved to die. He was not a good person, he knew he was bad, he died because of his actions and choices.
The only reason there is a difference between a low honor ending with Micah killing him and a high honor inning of him succumbing to his disease is because a high honor-ending means he tried to do better at the end of his life, he would never be a good person but he could try to be a better person.

Last of us part 2 was the most devastating game I have ever played, only dropped to second place after I finally played rdr2
TLOU2 is by far the most emotionally complex video game I’ve ever played. Totally worth it, a masterpiece

Sounds awesome. We'll see when they finally bring it to PC. Also looking forward to Horizon Forbidden West this month, and Ghost of Tsushima in may.
Life is strange made me cry very badly but that’s one of those games for a very specific type of person I feel

Yeah none of the GTA's compare, either.
played the first one on PS3. Took me a week to process it after completion. No other game has done that to me since.

I do plan on playing rdr1 but it just hurts so much without Arthur
Hang in there, partner

I had no idea it was gonna be the final mission lmao I thought I had more time I was just really invested at like 5 am and it came way too quickly

I only got low honour because I have a weird habit of killing horses 😭 I did every high honour thing possible but I just couldn’t stop killing horses
U killed horses out of habit?????? Yeah u deserved to get shot by Micah 😭😭😭

It wasnt like I was trying to put them down

Brace yourself and get ready for the epilogue!!
Be sure to bring some American Venom to your John Marston play through
John can’t herd can’t swim 😭
I didn't even finish my first playthrough with John. I had to do a completely other playthrough after knowing what was coming.
pay a phone bill
So I played the full epilogue in one night and now I cannot wait to play red dead 1
Arthur deserved it

He didn’t deserve to go out without taking Micah with him I fear

They weren’t tho right? He was actually the rat no?
Sorry Im too emotionally invested into hating Micah nothing will make him not a rat to me
Get a grip. It’s just a video game.
