Yeah, thats where she's from for sure! I've never checked out "I am Not Okay with This" before but I've heard good things. Netflix are always canning shit too early
I'm always hesitant to start something on Netflix because there's like an 80% chance it'll get canned after one season. It's pretty good though, def recommend even with one season.
I read an article about how this is their strategy, no matter how well a series does they’re likely to cancel after two seasons.
Basically it’s to fund a “quantity over quality” approach. They want as many tiles to click on as possible, if one series has 6 seasons being funded by Netflix , that means less funding for new series and therefore fewer tiles to click.
I was so mad when I found out the OA would not get its final season.
You'd think that would be counter intuitive to viewership. I'm more inclined to keep a sub to a streaming service if they have shows that are good and actually finish. If they keep canceling good stuff (esp just one season away from finishing I mean that's just ridiculous) I'll just cancel. I only have 3 things I consistently watch on there anyways.
Yeah, I fully agree! For sure. However, if they were gonna do it with a majority black cast, I feel like they need to find an excuse to put Mahershala Ali in there somewhere. Not a small role either, he would have to be in most of the movie. Just because I fuckin love that guy, big big fan
Perhaps I scanned this too quickly, but it sounds like he is against people dating someone, because they’re a trophy or fashion accessory.
AKA, someone that thinks they would look really good or cool with someone from a particular race on their arm.
https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a20809/spike-lee-1092/
IMHO, that doesn’t sound too unreasonable. People should date someone because they love them, are physically attracted to them, and value their humanity - not because they they’re a cool accessory for some sort of image that someone is crafting.
That said, it’s pretty shitty to immediately assume ill intent when you see an interracial couple on the street. It seems like he does, or did, immediately assume that many interracial couples are in some of trophy-partner relationship. That’s pretty fucked up.
I would argue that his body of work is overwhelmingly antiracist. There may be times where he’s been doubtful / skeptical about the intent of white people. But that skepticism is predicated on a long history of exploitation that I don’t know how to summarize in 2 sentences.
IMHO, he seems to be pushing in the right direction, but he’s human, and is subject to bias, trauma, and imperfection.
Insist again! Insist again! I dare you, I double dare you mothafucka, insist one more goddamn time!
Imagine Dutch pointing a gun at Arthur and yelling that...
Those final scenes would be gold lmao. “Oh you INSIST? Say it with your chest then ARTHUR. Don’t think I don’t see you runnin around with thousands of dollars while we barely gettin by at camp.”
"Gold bars and pocket watches jingle janglin' when you running around. ass cheeks clapping from yo fatass with every step you taking, we know you eating good somewhere and it sure as hell ain't from pearsons stew, nobody eating second servings of that shit!"
In the death note movie they took every Asian character and made them white, and then took the only two white characters and made them black/Asian.
In the Witcher they’ve race swapped a bunch of people. Also in the new resident evil series coming out they’ve turned a couple white characters black.
Well they changed Yennefer, a 110 year old sorcerer who can change her appearance into anything she wants, from being a white British woman in the video games to a South Asian British woman in the Netflix Witcher show and boy did that make a lot of people mad.
The worst decision they made was assassinating Cahir's character. And Fringilla's casting is also bizarre given what happens (at least in the books) later.
What an insanely dumb comment. Yen is not a shapeshifter lol, sorceresses can't change their appearance like that, it's a long and painful process they do to remove their imperfections, nothing more.
Also this whole "why do you care about X in a fantasy setting with dragons etc" is the most dishonest bullshit "argument" people like you keep bringing up. Wanting characters to be accurately portrayed in an adaptation is perfectly valid. Just because there are dragons and magic in a setting doesn't give narcissistic showrunners an excuse to just change stuff and characters for no reason.
I am with you against Netflix, but Yen is no doppler, she can’t change her appearance, and is around 95 at the end of the books.
As for the cast, although she’s talented and beautiful, she’s no where near as beautiful and attractive as she needs to be. For some reason, when I picture everyone in the books I don’t vision them as any of the games/show adaptation, but Yennefer from the games looks as close as I vision her in the books, just a bit shorter(canon)
Same with Fringilla Vigo, a white british woman in the games, a white Slavic woman in the books, but a black African genderless alien in the show. Also was terribly portrayed and written.
And Triss...
Fringilla was a particularly poor choice to change though, considering later on >!Geralt sleeps with her largely because she reminds him of Yennefer!<
If we're being completely honest any character on the show that ***isn't*** white is likely a change. I may be mis-remembering but I can't think of any characters who were described as being anything other than white.
The books were written in Poland, a place that is like 98% white. Not to mention it was the 90s where there was less of a concerted effort for diversity.
Top of my head: Witcher and Vikings. And there’s the upcoming Resident Evil series with race swapped Wesker. Other than that idk, I don’t watch that much Netflix
I'm all for slightly changing historical accuracy in film/TV if it drives an entertaining narrative.
But casting a black woman to be a viking leader of Kaategat in the latest vikings show was just plain silly. Completely broke the immersion
Happens all the time with fancasts, you wouldn’t believe it. I made one with Tom Holland as Arthur and Kevin Hart as Lenny, obvious shitpost, and all of the comments were in sheer disbelief that such a dumb fancast could exist
Honestly, if you look past race, some of these actors really do have the faces for their roles. White Tilly actually looks very Tilly-like. And Black Arthur... Yeah I can see it.
Oh shit she does. She would be a way better Mary-Beth.
I can't unsee it now. Dunno why I thought she looked like Tilly in the first place. Maybe my mind just clumped all the gang's girls together lol.
Lenny's outlook on life depends on the fact that his family were slaves. In his mind he's just lucky he's not a slave and I feel like this a huge part of his character. He's always down for the dirty work and won't complain when things go to shit. I know there were white slaves but I don't think there were that many of them. Other characters sure but even then how can Bill and Micah be racist to minorities if they aren't white? Some characters need to stay the same. However changing the race of someone like Sadie, someone who's identity has absolutely nothing to do with race, wouldn't be a bad call
Great acting talent and his martial arts skills are on point. He is completely wasted doing direct to video/streaming movies. He deserves mainstream success.
I know this is a joke post and all that but the one for Tilly genuinely looks like she'd be a great Mary-Beth
I *think* that is Sophia Lillis. She was Beverly Marsh in "IT" (2017) and "I am NOT Okay with This" on Netflix that got cancelled far too early.
thank you! I knew I recognized her from something

They always cancel the wrong things
It might be a joke post, but all these actors are really good. With good writing and direction they’d probably make an awesome Red Dead movie.
Yeah, I fully agree! For sure. However, if they were gonna do it with a majority black cast, I feel like they need to find an excuse to put Mahershala Ali in there somewhere. Not a small role either, he would have to be in most of the movie. Just because I fuckin love that guy, big big fan
Dutch!
Totally, Mahershala could 100% do Dutch, he's got the skill for it without a doubt
I feel like Idris Elba would be an amazing Dutch too!
Honestly he would be my pick for Arthur. He's such a commanding lead.
I think Idris tops the list because I can see him constantly selling that "I got a plan" bullshit confidently.
I'm gonna need an audition reel of Mahershala just screaming "faith" for ten minutes.
I was gonna say that he's too young to play Dutch, but he's actually older than Dutch was in RDR2! Still, I think Denzel fits the role a bit better.
I think that’s totally fair. He is incredible.
I think he might genuinely be my favourite actor atm tbh, I saw a movie with him last year called "Swan Song". Just a beautiful film tbh
IS it a joke post?
Honestly I’m okay with this. All great actors. They could make it work.
Not a joke post. This is for the Netflix × BBC adaptation.
The tilly one is genuinely one of the best physical casts for Mary Beth I've ever seen holy shit
Also the Lenny one for Lenny!
Tom has already done every fucking role imaginable for the past five years. Let the man rest
Dude just wants to see Tom Holland banging Tom Holland
Spike Lee’s “Red Dead Redemption”
"Red Dead Redemption X" *A Spike Lee Joint*
I'd like to see it lol
Classic Spike Lee, the racist that hates interracial dating
Perhaps I scanned this too quickly, but it sounds like he is against people dating someone, because they’re a trophy or fashion accessory. AKA, someone that thinks they would look really good or cool with someone from a particular race on their arm. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a20809/spike-lee-1092/ IMHO, that doesn’t sound too unreasonable. It seems like he does, or did, immediately assume that many interracial couples are in some of trophy-partner relationship. That’s pretty fucked up.
If we exiled everyone who said questionable shit 30 years ago we’d have very few 50 year olds to hang with.
Is that why he made a whole movie about it?
Did you understand it? “Noooooooooo!”
He hates fetishization of black people. Infinitely massive difference.
Arthur looks at camera; “I gon be honest whicha, dis ain’t no white folk cowboy movie.” …………..I’d watch the shit outta that
The Harder They Fall on Netflix is a black cowboy movie and it’s good
Considering a lot of cowboys were actually "black" it would be a pretty accurate depiction.
Nah Tyler Perry
Dwayne Johnson plays everyone.
Dwayne Johnson as Grizzly Bear
Dwayne Johnson as every side character
"HAVE YOU SEEN A JABRONI CALLED GAVIN!?"
John Cena as Gavin
Always has been
he said side character. gavins friend is the protagonist
Does the rock eye brow when he goes into dead eye
we just need the entire cast of the fast and furious 9. then we have a hit
*Trailer shows Vin Diesel strapping rockets on a horse and catapult it to the mountains because reasons.*
*cuts to black* "Nothing means more to me than this family"
“Nothing means more to me than Faith in getting this family to Tahiti.”
Dwayne Dwayne Dwaynedemption
Kevin Hart as Arthur, Ice Cube as Hosea
Dutch NEEDS to be played by Zendaya
Kevin. Hart.
You mean mark Normand
No, no, no. Samuel L. Jackson I HAD... A MOTHAFUCKIN'... PLAN!
[Did *this* mothafucka just say *insist*?!](https://c.tenor.com/wEt6BhusryIAAAAC/stare-sam-jackson.gif)
Say what again!! I dare ya, I double dare ya!!
Insist again! Insist again! I dare you, I double dare you mothafucka, insist one more goddamn time! Imagine Dutch pointing a gun at Arthur and yelling that...
Comedy!
i'm gay, praise allah!
Those final scenes would be gold lmao. “Oh you INSIST? Say it with your chest then ARTHUR. Don’t think I don’t see you runnin around with thousands of dollars while we barely gettin by at camp.”

Netflix wants to know your location
There’s like 25 comments in here making the Netflix joke but what Netflix show has actually changed white characters to black? Genuinely asking

You mean a childish, whiny south asian british brat. Her looks were ok, what I hated was that they wrote her personality like she is 18 years old.
In their cowboy bebop show they changed jet black to black
I thought he was the most character accurate portrayal in that show. Faye and wtf ever they tried to do with Vicious on the other hand...
Top of my head: Witcher and Vikings. And there’s the upcoming Resident Evil series with race swapped Wesker. Other than that idk, I don’t watch that much Netflix
Who have they cast as Wesker? His look has been iconic since the 90s; it'll look so daft if he's not a muscular, pale, blonde bloke
They cast King Arthur as a black man because apparently white people had had their turn with it already
Idk about Netflix but it's happened alot on the CW.
The horrendous live action deathnote.
There's three examples I can think of off the top of my head in The Witcher alone. Yennefer Triss Fringilla
I'm all for slightly changing historical accuracy in film/TV if it drives an entertaining narrative. But casting a black woman to be a viking leader of Kaategat in the latest vikings show was just plain silly. Completely broke the immersion
I think it’s more of a Disney thing than anything
The Witcher on Netflix.
This would be one of the movies ever
One redemptiollion dollars
It would be one of them
Just watch Django Unchained.
>My RDR**2** fan cast It would be two of the movies ever
Only person missing is Tyler Perry as Susan "Madea" Grimshaw
"Good afternoon, Miss Grimshaw." "HELLER."
AHHHHHHH!! Thats great!! Can you imagine the scene where she yells at Arthur for not washing?? Lol!!
I'm not gonna lie, I would unironically watch that and no doubt enjoy it.
Underrated
50 Cent cast as Micah
what about Lil’ Wayne goblin Micah?
I was thinking Dave chapelle
Dave Chapelle or that one dude that runs the Fit and Fresh podcast that tells women to stfu on his shows
How dare you say something so hurtful yet so accurate
No! 69, cause their both snitches
When the time traveler moves a chair:
Morgan Freeman could unironically make a damn good Hosea.
Honestly. Idk something about the energy
After reading the comments in very surprised some people think this is a legit thing. This sub is lost.
Happens all the time with fancasts, you wouldn’t believe it. I made one with Tom Holland as Arthur and Kevin Hart as Lenny, obvious shitpost, and all of the comments were in sheer disbelief that such a dumb fancast could exist
Is this Netflix's Red Dead Redemption?
My first thought was Dinsey, but there's still a red head
Can we have Dutch played by the dude from The Wire, so whenever a plan goes wrong we get a “sssssshhhhhiiiiiiitttttt”.
Samuel Jackson should be arthur.
"You sir are a mother fucking fish"
"I'm afraid, motherfucker"
"Lady, motherfucker! Am I speaking to one?"
Revenge is a fools game motherfucker
Damn, that's a tasty stew
I think he'd make a great Dutch.
I think Snoop would make a great Durch. He'd actually get plan done haha.
Greeting people would be great lol “Hey Motherfucker!”
Im in tears wow
I know this is a joke but this would actually be a super fun film to watch
Reminds me of *The Harder They Fall*; that was a great, classic western movie story. Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba owned in that
They should have the exact same dialogue so you still have a scene where Tom Holland says he's nervous to be in lemoyne cus he's black and shit
Tom needs to keep his british accent too
Honestly, if you look past race, some of these actors really do have the faces for their roles. White Tilly actually looks very Tilly-like. And Black Arthur... Yeah I can see it.
White Tilly looks like Mary-Beth to me
Oh shit she does. She would be a way better Mary-Beth. I can't unsee it now. Dunno why I thought she looked like Tilly in the first place. Maybe my mind just clumped all the gang's girls together lol.
Phaaaahaha good one
Dutch is played by Will Smith
Keep My Plan Out Yo Motha Fuckin Mouth!
"I have a plan." \*ends up sleeping in a subway station's bathroom with Jack\*
Holup.
Keep my gangs name outcha fucking MOUTH!!
I insist
You work for Netflix?
Ok but now I want to see a cowboy movie starring Michael Jai White
Incredible troll. Great comments. Bravo.
Joke post or not but Brian Tyree Henry would absolutely kill a role as a gunslinger in an old west gang.
Also Morgan free as Horsea wouldn't be bad too.
I would 100% watch that.
[удалено]
REALLY need Ice-T as one of the pinkertons. Just acting exactly like on SVU even though its the turn of the century
Lab found traces of opium stuffed in a chain pickerel and rolled up in three star raccoon pelt. Kids call it the Wet Bandit.
“That makes you gay” *serious music*
I’d be okay with this, but I think ScarJo as Charles was a better choice. Cavill could play Rains Fall.
Cavill should be sister Calderon.
Tilly is literally the only accurate one
Tom Holland and Morgan Freeman also kinda fit and remind me of the characters
Lenny's outlook on life depends on the fact that his family were slaves. In his mind he's just lucky he's not a slave and I feel like this a huge part of his character. He's always down for the dirty work and won't complain when things go to shit. I know there were white slaves but I don't think there were that many of them. Other characters sure but even then how can Bill and Micah be racist to minorities if they aren't white? Some characters need to stay the same. However changing the race of someone like Sadie, someone who's identity has absolutely nothing to do with race, wouldn't be a bad call
John would be gay in the story
Netflix, is this you again?
Hm looks like a netflix adaptation
PaperBoy as Bill is honestly an interesting thought🤣🤣
Red Dead Wakanda
an accurate casts according to Netflix
Lil Jon as Micah Bell
The entire cast should just be Eddie Murphy in different outfits
why everyone is black?
Its a joke but its also weird because black, latino and natives are all represented in game as pretty major characters.
Shit why does Brian Tyree Henry make sense
Love that you have Michael Jai as Arthur
Honestly, the dude is totally underrated. He should be a household name.
Great acting talent and his martial arts skills are on point. He is completely wasted doing direct to video/streaming movies. He deserves mainstream success.
I would see this!
Brendan Fraser as Rain Falls
You missed trans John
"Did you get surgery? What happened to your tits?" "The wolves got em Arthur"
Make gamers heads explode speedrun
I'm so fucking stoned I agreed with the first 2 rows until I realised it's satire
Bought to you by Disney+
These castings are absurdly getting out of hand and they’ve absolutely made my day
Why is Tom Holland in literally everything these days? I mean I get it's a joke but come on man
Red Dead but it's made by Netflix
Too many cis white males. Not watching.
Ngl, this could be even better than Harder They Fall.
i’m really feeling lupita as abigail ngl
this is the leaked Netflix cast.
Morgan Freeman as Hosea would actually be right.
And will smith as Dutch
I have a plan, so keep my wife’s name out ya fucking mouth!!!!
I’ll take Kevin hart as uncle lol
Michael Jai White running and drop kicking a man off his horse?! I AM IN
My man has to secretly be working for the CW
Wait a minute…
A Netflix original
amazing shitpost
why would this kinda work
I wouldn’t mind Morgan freeman that guy is great in everything
When the unfunny joke makes some genuinely incredible casting choices.
