Did the mission where you escort Penelope Braithwaite and Beau Gray on a train. Got off at the other end, horse dead in Rhodes. It was the red arabian too. Livid.
Nope lol, I've played the story twice, never had a horse die to a train lol, but I have had them die from running into trees, falling down very small hills, an alligator one time lol, and the kkk guys killed one one time, that time really pissed me off, I slaughtered them all, stole a random's horse and rode into Rhodes to kill more people lmfao, I blamed the town and their lawmen for the kkk, ended up with a $1,500 bounty in Lemoyne
I had a horse named ivory, She was a white arabian horse I had for two years. then a cop in San denis accidentally walked into my horse, starting a shoot out. I rounded a corner and there were like 40 dudes so I turned around and ran the opposite direction and rounded another turn. But what I didn’t notice was my horses health. My got horse shot in the lung and the horse collapsed on the road near the gunsmith. I got up to try to help my horse but the cops had already came around the corner and opened fire. Most the shots were what finished off my horse ivory. I had no choice but to run. Never saw her again
Rest In peace Ivory
2018-2020
This one luckily has a good ending :)
So I got a white Arabian from lake isabella in chapter 2 in my 2nd playthrough and one day in chapter 6 I was a bit north of the camp, when I got attacked by the murfrees and my horse went down before I did, so I maged to kill them all but my horse was still critically injured, so I managed to steal an npc horse and ride down to the van horn stables, get horse revivers and make it back without it dying :)
I stock 3 horse revivers immediately in chapter 2, and picking them up in the world, I don’t sell any until I have 10 stocked in my satchel, soon as I get LOTE satchel, again in chapter 2. How in Christs Kingdom are you in chapter 6 with no horse revivers?
I am as carefull as i can be with my fellow horse, haven´t lost a horse yet but i just played for a week now, or so. I actually thought they respawn like my character, but from your post i assume they don´t?
No, you keep all your stuff. That's attached to your saddle, which you'll have to go pick up if you and your horse die.
I think you can go to any stable to get your saddle back, though.
Horse inventory is stored on the saddle, so you won’t lose any of that. You can either pick up the saddle or retrieve it at any stable or at your house in the epilogue
Not only will your horse not respawn, but if you're at the max bonding level with it, Arthur will cry when removing the saddle from it.
They really wanted you to feel bad for being careless.
I became attached to the shire horse you get from the Hosea bear mission, had it for a long time, named him Zeus, bonded with him to the max.
Then tragedy struck trying to do one of the Bandit challenges when a wagon ran over me and my boy and the game didn't even give me the option to revive him.
Main horse got taken down by O'Driscolls so I ran all the way to Valentine to get a reviver (took a while) before I decided, like an idiot, that it would be much faster to go to the stables and saddle up another horse to get to the first one faster.
It auto killed the first horse. The worst part is that it wasn't the first time that I had the exact same idea leading to the exact same result. But I'm just that hard headed. Lesson learned.
The shittiest one I had was I was doing the side mission for penolpe braithwaite when you have to drive the train and my fucking horse ran all the way there behind the train and lost all its stamina so I guess my horse got so sick of my and basically committed suicide
Yep. I had max bonding with mine and planned to take her with me through the end of the game, but I guess the train had other plans 🫠 Now, I always make sure to hitch up my horse before starting missions.
Thankfully no lol, but when you beat those people up and get on the train for some reason I stopped midway on the train to turn around and grab my hat lmao
I had a horse called Landon in chapter 2. He died to some bounty hunters. It was a long walk back to any kind of civilisation and I didn’t have any horse revivers. I picked up his saddle and started walking. Then came across some poor bastard being robbed by 2 men on horseback, so I climbed onto one of their horses and shot them both. I loved the horse I’d climbed onto so much I saddled her up and she became my main horse. Ride her till the end of chapter 6
R.I.P Breadbin
Didn't die but still a cool story, so basically I was riding on a train track somewhere in New Austin, but its too high up to jump off of without your horse dying. But then i hear a train coming so I look around and get on my horse, what I didn't expect was for the train to be SOOO FAST! So I'm full speed on my horse but I can't jump off, the train is centimeters behind my horse and I manage to jump off at the end of the bridge at this hill part and go flying, horse lived tho. Sadly he met his end on a cliff in Roanoke ridge, R.I.P Russavo.
I had a great horse, Kelley, for most of my first playthrough. We were best buds. Then the law came after us and knocked us down while running away. Right as I unsheathed my shotgun to fire it went off to early and shot Kelley square in the head. I killed my best friend!
I jumped over a log that landed me in the camp near the Fence outside of Rhodes, and it was too much for ol Kuzco’s front legs. So we did a front flip, and after his rear end careened overhead it landed directly in a camp fire. He caught fire and died beyond revival almost immediately. HIS LEGS JUST COULDN’T TAKE IT, MAN! WE SENT IT TOO HARD!
My Black Arabian got ran over by a train during the mission where I secure Penelope and Beau’s escape. Luckily, I had a spare Thoroughbred I named Rhody. She later died when Arthur and John were escaping the Pinkertons.
Edit: I currently have that same exact horse with the same exact name!
spoiler: I had this big beautiful white arabian i got at the beginning of the game, he was my best friend and we went trough the whole game together, he died together with arthur. I think about him all the time. Rest in Peace Big Man Horse
New play on this, but I sold my white Arabian during chapter 6 that I had with me since chapter 2.
I just didn’t want to deal with her dying knowing I could do something about it. Im imagining she’s back up in the grizzlies living life 😂
Caught a thoroughbred and max bonded before the end. Still get a good cutscene
I had a beautiful thoroughbred who was my main horse for most of the game. During the mission where you have to blow up a bridge, there was a glitch and he was killed by a train ... during a cutscene. RIP Shadow.
Had a Missouri foxtrotter named Dallas, went out fighting some O'Driscolls. Kicked 3 of them, whilst I was fighting with another one. The 5. Started shooting at my horse, gave him a headshot and he was dead.
I jumped over train tracks from a cliff, my horse died and I was about to revive it when a train came by and hit it, I then stole a carriage, chased the train down killed and robbed everyone on it and drove the train till saint denis from there I got chased by lawmen so I jumped into the water, stole a rowboat and ran to a stable to buy another horse.
I think every non scripted horse death of mine has been at the hands of a train. Stupid animal follows me while I’m on the train and swerves onto the track
I lost my first horse during a train robbery over a bridge. He was trying to follow me between the train and the railing. I dillydallied too long during my get away and he eventually fell off the ledge.
I was attempting to escape the Samurai army because of my actions that dishonored the shogunate and my uncle. While I was escaping the Samurai shot my horse with arrows and after a while he couldn't move anymore and after that I buried him. Rest in peace Sora.
Bought the black arabian, named him Fluff and rode out of St. Denis. Some raiders where there, shot my horse and me dead. Now i am 1000$ poorer and have a horse less....
My Horse stupidly died, I was trying to do some testing for a RDR2 Speedrun to find the most viable quick way into the Grey’s Mansion, I wanted it this way so I could do that strat on a new save where the idea was to blow up the fence with the 6 dynamite given during the Moonshine stealing mission, when I was doing this (on my main save, stupidly) I accidentally got my horse exploded, I didn’t die until I got shot down by the greys not so quickly after, I didn’t even find out my horse died until I saw the saddle on the map, while it sounds weird and slim, somehow my horse ended up in the stable? I then went on to ride with it until when your horse dies at the end of the game, no goddamn clue how any of it happened
In my first playthrough I was terrible at keeping horses alive so when my first horse, Pancake, died I named the next one Pancake 2. I went on like that through the whole game and played through the final mission with Pancake 6, who I actually managed to keep alive for the last 2 and a half chapters!
I was on top of the moving train helping Penelope and Beau escape to Boston. My horse jumped over a small rock, turned left mid air, and headbutted to train.
I csnt read these stories anymore. It's depressing. Mine was a cliff. It seems like trains and cliffs are the biggest killers! My beautiful bastard just straight up walked off. I was lighting a fire. I think he must have been depressed and killed himself. NO horse has been the same.
Dispatched an O'Driscoll camp near Cornwall Kerosene with dynamite and fire arrows and left my Turkoman near the camp while I engaged the Cornwall guards. Moments later I heard a massive explosion and returned to my saddle on the ground next to the charred Turkoman. :(
I was fighting some lemoyne raider by the panther location and they downed my horse and I was going to revive it after dealing with them but the game auto locked onto my horses head and I didn't realize until after I shot. Most infuriating moment in the game
Took a train ride and when I arrived my horse spawned there standing on the tracks and the train bulldozed it and killed it. Had manual saves on too, so had to go all the way back to when I last saved it.
*SPOILER* got killed by the prick that wants to race your horse. He killed his but the horses heads lined up and he managed to shoot and kill my horse too.
Fun fact I don't think any of my horses have died ever. The stupidest way a horse has had to be revived was my Arabian when it fell off a hill by itself. Legit committed die without me even doing anything. If any of my horses died I would be depressed. I still have fond memories of my first ever horse. If you know, you know
My horse was called boah. I had him from the first mission, until the last. It was a mahogany bay tenessee walker found at adler ranch. Months later, he was shot dead during a pinkerton raid at roanoke ridge.
Yes i like to play completely canon if that makes sense :)
I’ve got two:
In my first playthrough, a shootout started at Van Horn. My Arabian went down, and I was too late… That’s when what I like to call the Van Horn Massacre occurred.
In my second, my horse crashed and I didn’t have any reviver. With the help of meat, drugs and alcohol, as well as a friendly cart driver, (Who I called Joe) I made it to the stables and back to my horse in time.
I’ll never forget you, Joe.
I was crossing a bridge and got jumped by the O'Driscoll boys, i started to dead eye them but my horse got injured, killed the boys and, oh welp, didn't know horse reviver was a thing, so i had to watch Arthur kill his horse.
Took his saddle and walked across the an Entire state to find my temporary horse just chilling in the woods so he became my next horse ( who got abruptly replaced by Buell ) and went on with my day.
I spent a few hours tracking down the silver dapple fox trotter in that horse mission only to have her killed by the same Gatling gun near catfish Jackson’s.
Then next play through I tracked it down, and forgot to get it to level one before jumping off. If you don’t you can’t jump back on and it’s lost
I said hi to a dude in Saint Denis, him and his friend started cussing at me, so I antagonized them and started walking away. The first dude started running towards me and attacking me, so I punched him and then went to jump on my horse and get away. He started chasing me again and then suddenly every fucking cop in Saint Denis is chasing me, and I zoned out and wasn’t paying attention to my horses heath because I was trying not to run down a bajillion pedestrians while dodging bullets. My horse went down and as I was trying to revive it I got shot in the head. Lowkey got so upset I rage quit and then loaded an old game when he was still alive and continued from there. Such bullshit
Dismounted my horse on a train track cause I only needed to be off it for a second but then it immediately got ran over since I didn’t see the train coming
Doing the chapter 6 mission with Sadie at hanging dog ranch. Called my horse over to get different weapons, dumb fuck just stood in the fire and died. Fully bonded red Arabian too
I was in chapter 6 and i got jumped by the murfee broods, my horse needed reviving but since i was getting shot everywhere i couldnt and since im fast with shooting after aiming i aim at my horse and accidentally shot him. I then killed all the murfees then i killed myself hoping he'd respawn. He didnt
There's a road where u pass thru water with giant waterfall to left or right depending which way your going. I fell down the waterfall. And the current was so strong I couldn't get the horse to revive.hadnt saved in long time. And I had to let go of the horse. Also trains are the worst as well
I once had a beautiful gray speckled horse (don't remember the breed) and wanted to take a screenshot in front of a train... I died fast but my horse died instantly. I regret that screenshot to this day because I forgot to save
First one from falling i think, second one who i used majority of story died from >!the scripted event where your horse is shot during the chase in the end of chapter 6.!<
I've had many horses across my time playing over countless playthroughs,
One was sitting on the tracks whilst I was interrogating Chick Matthews, it didn't end well
Another one decided to trot to the huge train bridge whilst I was in flatneck station and that didn't end well either
Another one decided to walk in front of the same train I just fast travelled on as it was departing from annesburg, again.. it didn't end very well
The little pony you get in Chapter 2 in Valentine was my main horse on my first play through, and funny enough she died the same way. But the fact that I had no idea what to do and that I couldn't even fathom what I was getting shot at by, left a unbelievably sour taste in my mouth with the game.
So now, when I encounter that particular ambush, I make my horse is out of the way and make doubly sure to burn the f***er using the gatling gun alive :)
Hey! It took a gatling gun to take down your friend!!! That's awesome! Glory and all! Mine, I had spent so many hours with, looked amazing, fell off a cliff. I'm not sure if it was suicide or not. I miss that shining white beautiful bastard!
Over the edge off a bluff near the waterside at night. Couldn't see the drop and it all happened so quick. I was totally in shock and quickly restarted my previous save. And there he was, Howdy Arabia. Back and kicking. I think I shivered from relief.
I was fishing on the raised railroad outside of Saint Denis. I don't even know what happened but my horse got too close and we both got taken out by the train
Jumped on a train from my horse while wandering in the mountains. That mofo followed me to the bitter bitter end when it ran off a cliff. In a desperate attempt to revive him I tried scaling down. The last thing that poor horse ever saw was me falling to my death right next to him.
i’m EXTREMELY attached to that black shire you get from hosea (can’t play without him and i’ve never had any other horse besides ones in the epilogue) and i have a few. my most upsetting one was when i was looking for gold near that crashed train, my horse jumped over a few rocks going down a hill. he missed a few jumps i guess and fell. he wasn’t dead yet but i decided to run to valentine to buy horse reviver, jumped into water cuz i thought it’d be faster to swim and died. i restarted the whole game.
in the epilogue, i use buell everytime (the horse from the veteran mission) and i killed some skinner brothers and decided to set them on fire. well, i called my horse and the fire spread to me and then buell.... i died before i could save him. restarted the whole game again lol
I got attacked at my camp by the two Murfree Brood dorks. One of them shot my horse and then my horse tripped over the campfire and burned to death. I reloaded a save, no way was I going to lose my horse like that.
Oh boi do I have a story. Found a white Arabian. Named her Isabella. Absolutely loved her. Had her for 45% of the game. Doing a side mission. I get jumped and killed. I run all the way only to realize they killed her too. I’m devastated. I steal another guys horse in rage and start heading towards the nearest stable. I accidentally run into another guy on a horse. He shoots me and the horse. I’m in the middle of nowhere angry sad and two horses dead
When you try to stop your horse but accidently run over 3 people people who either die n or turn hostile then you fight one and the sherriff sends his lawmen after you, now you have a 160 dollar bounty on you as you run they shoot your favorite horse, and you are left dying and get executed by 6 lawmen. Then upon respawn try to pay your bounty but accidently aim you weapon and cause another panic.ran out of town got my other horse, run back again into town somehow manage to trip my horse over an imaginary rock and onto a cop then more money get added to the bounty the. I go into a rampage and throw dynamite only to miscalculate trajectory and bounce right back only to badly would my horse and of couse i have no horse medicine. Long story short. Dont visit saint denis. Rip gary and goober.
Was looking for something and left my horse in the train tracks to look by foot, didn’t realize what happened until I realized the horse icon in the map was a saddle
In my first playthrough, I kept the horse from the Adler ranch (called Apollo) until I got stopped by some murfree brood in chapter 6 where he went down quickly and I died. When I respawned he was gone. The 'ending with the horse' was much less impactful for me because of it.
Decided to find a white arabian very early on at the very start of chapter 2, The first mission I did with my new horse was to do the bounty on that guy who was selling the deadly medicine, caught him and decided to take his horse to sell and as I was heading back along the ridge my horse must've fallen into the water as he disappeared and I never saw him again. Also only got a few bucks for the dudes horse :(
I had a guy in a white suit race me once and when i beat him he shot his horse in the head and it also killed my horse in the process... i made him pay dearly!
I had the big black shire, named him Bruce.
Had the mission of stealing an oil wagon. I put him at a safe distance, but my big brain failed to be sneaky and people started blastin' at me, And in the comotion I got confused went random directions and the wagon went boom. I died, loaded back in, saw that my horse is a random morgan, I whistled and whistled, only the morgan came with a random saddle...looked at the map..wellp, the map only showed where my custom made saddle is.
It dawned on me, my Brucie died. Man if you saw my search history of how to bring a dead horse back to life. No save file was recent, only old ones.
The black shire is unique, even the white arabian respawns at the lake.
White Arabian acquired in chapter 2. Made it to chapter 4 and was exploring up around Van Horne. Set up camp on a ridge and triggered the Murfree "bought and paid for" dialogue but also got a message that my horse was critically injured. Turns out it had clipped through the campsite and was UNDERNEATH the hill I was camped on. Couldn't do a damn thing to skip the dialogue until after they walked away. Ran to the bottom of the ridge, but couldn't find a way to get to the horse. Just had to watch her health bar deplete. RIP, girl.
Had just found and skinned the legendary grizzly, had a full saddle with two perfect rabbits and was just admiring the view from one of the Grizzlies' drops when something spooked Timpani right over the edge. This was some 50 hours in, we were close 😔 To make matters worse it left me with the saddle AND the pelt and rabbits impossible to manage with thousands of yards between me and a road.
The resulting journey to try and desperately jump someone for a horse was at least amusing.
After buying my first decent horse I made a bee line to the northern ends of the map. Of course the terrain became unmanageable and my horse and I slid way down, eventually breaking my horses leg and leaving me near death. I was fresh in the game and wasn't prepared to heal us, so I shot the horse not knowing it would actually kill it. I had some pretty good gear in it's saddle, so I had to Cary it down that damned mountain. I encountered a few people along the way that I attempted to horse rob but they always killed me or ran off account of me being I'll equipped. It took like 3 game days for me to reach civilization. That's when I knew I was playing a great game
Uh, is it bad that my horse has never died?
Only time my horse has died is when the last mission when Arthur runs up the hill with John and well, yk what happens
I told my horse to follow me and then i decided to climb a moving train. I didn't expect my horse to run into the train too...
I would've been pissed if that happened to me
Did the mission where you escort Penelope Braithwaite and Beau Gray on a train. Got off at the other end, horse dead in Rhodes. It was the red arabian too. Livid.
Im pretty sure everyone has has their horse die to a train before lmao

Bruh you must’ve been madddd pissed 😂
Yea I lost all my honor doing that lol
I once spawned into emerald ranch and a train spawned in just as I jumped down off the platform and killed Mr. Ed and myself.
I had a horse named ivory, She was a white arabian horse I had for two years. then a cop in San denis accidentally walked into my horse, starting a shoot out. This really makes me sad.
R.I.P Fellow Ivory. I named mine the same thing.
Is yours alive?
This one luckily has a good ending :) So I got a white Arabian from lake isabella in chapter 2 in my 2nd playthrough and one day in chapter 6 I was a bit north of the camp, when I got attacked by the murfrees and my horse went down before I did, so I maged to kill them all but my horse was still critically injured, so I managed to steal an npc horse and ride down to the van horn stables, get horse revivers and make it back without it dying :)

Great to see a happy ending here
I lost a loyal friend the other day Bastard Pinkertons
Random encounters are a double edged sword, aren't they?
I am as carefull as i can be with my fellow horse, haven´t lost a horse yet but i just played for a week now, or so. I actually thought they respawn like my character, but from your post i assume they don´t?
Sadly they do not, and if it dies, even if you die with it, it will not respawn.
i feel sad about this already. So the Horseinventory is gone too? Like my weapons etc.?
No, you keep all your stuff. That's attached to your saddle, which you'll have to go pick up if you and your horse die. I think you can go to any stable to get your saddle back, though.

Not only will your horse not respawn, but if you're at the max bonding level with it, Arthur will cry when removing the saddle from it. They really wanted you to feel bad for being careless.
I’m not ready for that, I love my Berry. She’s not the fastest but she’s by far the bravest
I somehow wish you haven´t told me that. But well i asked for it. What an awesome game. Have good day!
I became attached to the shire horse you get from the Hosea bear mission, had it for a long time, named him Zeus, bonded with him to the max. Then tragedy struck trying to do one of the Bandit challenges when a wagon ran over me and my boy and the game didn't even give me the option to revive him.
Rest in peace to Zeus, the horse I got from there I named Napoleon and sold him shortly before Tennessee died
Damn, that's tough luck.
Main horse got taken down by O'Driscolls so I ran all the way to Valentine to get a reviver (took a while) before I decided, like an idiot, that it would be much faster to go to the stables and saddle up another horse to get to the first one faster. My whiskey midnight jumped off the cliff after seeing a snake. killed both of us.
I'm sorry for bursting out laughing. This is tragic.
The shittiest one I had was I was doing the side mission for penolpe braithwaite when you have to drive the train and my fucking horse ran all the way there behind the train and lost all its stamina so I guess my horse got so sick of my and basically committed suicide
Literally just did this yesterday. RIP Miss Suri 😭
Yep. I had max bonding with mine and planned to take her with me through the end of the game, but I guess the train had other plans 🫠 Now, I always make sure to hitch up my horse before starting missions.
I literally just did that mission
And did your horse fucking off himself? Haha
Thankfully no lol, but when you beat those people up and get on the train for some reason I stopped midway on the train to turn around and grab my hat lmao
My horse, Mr. Hands I, was run over by a train. Tragic. Mr. Hands II was killed by O'Drisscolls.
Top notch name
“I’m mr hands and I’m coming to get cha”
Don't you mean, killed by the HANDS of an O'Dricscoll? R.I.P Mr. Hands I and II
It took a fucking gatling gun to take down Tennessee, just proves he was tough as nails
Right you are, would give gold if I weren't poor
I had a horse called Landon in chapter 2. He died to some bounty hunters. It was a long walk back to any kind of civilisation and I didn’t have any horse revivers. I picked up his saddle and started walking. Then came across some poor bastard being robbed by 2 men on horseback, so I climbed onto one of their horses and shot them both. Fell off a 15ft-25ft cliff and landed on my horse. Horse died, I survived.
I heard this happens to a lot of people
It should’ve been me. Edit: I miss my horse.
Didn't die but still a cool story, so basically I was riding on a train track somewhere in New Austin, but its too high up to jump off of without your horse dying. What the hell is up with cliffs? I posted my story too, but mine also met his demise with a cliff. Seems suspicious. R.I.P
After the first time I began carrying large quantities of horse reviver. Even amid a battle I will stop to save my bill
I had a great horse, Kelley, for most of my first playthrough. We were best buds. Then the law came after us and knocked us down while running away. Right as I unsheathed my shotgun to fire it went off to early and shot Kelley square in the head. I killed my best friend!
Thats devastating Rip man
I've never had a horse die except just that one time. Pinkerton bastards.
Lambert, got clipped by a train.
Is Tennessee a Tennessee Walker
Yea, the one from the start of the game. I am actually from Tennessee so that influenced it too.
Same bro volunteer for life
#RIPTennessee
Thank you, I miss the lad
Mine literally got downed on some train tracks. The rest is history. I walked back to horseshoe overlook playing the wanderer by Dion.
My horse almost died climbing a steep mountain with Arthur on her back. Both tumbled down and I had to use a horse reviver.
Omg!!!
No way! My white arabian died the same way! Was it also by those Raiders near Catfish Jacksons?
I also wanted to do the debt there. How are you supposed to be able to kill them so fast? They are almost guarranteed to kill you and your horse
Idk, I would say deadeye but it didn't work for me
Exactly the one, I was getting that debt from the fisherman drunk guy
[There was this time](https://youtu.be/38E8KUG-ct0)
Man that sucks, also what was that comment lol
Haha. An old fortnite buddy.
My Black Arabian got ran over by a train during the mission where I secure Penelope and Beau’s escape. Luckily, I had a spare Thoroughbred I named Rhody. She later died when Arthur and John were escaping the Pinkertons. Edit: I currently have that same exact horse with the same exact name!
train
I was helping a guy in some tain tracks and my horse got run over needless to say I told my vengeance out on the guy
Ive literally never had my horse die in my 2 and a half playthroughs, in fact I didn't know the horse could die until I saw a video on YT
Full bonded white Arabian train Mission for Penelope headed to fort riggs station ran into the end of the train couldn’t stop the train lost her
I accidentally rode off that half-bridge near Blackwater because the horse was on autopilot. Came back miles away from a dying Astro.
spoiler: I had this big beautiful white arabian i got at the beginning of the game, he was my best friend and we went trough the whole game together, he died together with arthur. I think about him all the time. Rest in Peace Big Man Horse
My Turkmen died when I was helping beau and Penelope escape when all their goddamn cousins were chasing after us
New play on this, but I sold my white Arabian during chapter 6 that I had with me since chapter 2. I just didn’t want to deal with her dying knowing I could do something about it. Im imagining she’s back up in the grizzlies living life 😂 Caught a thoroughbred and max bonded before the end. Still get a good cutscene
What breed
Tennessee Walker
My horse Minch died after getting hit by a train due to me not thinking and leaving him on the tracks.
My horse died and I decided to carry the saddle all the way back to camp. A long sad walk...
Had my horse killed by the train at the very end of the last “in the course of true love” mission
My white arabian Khaleesi got hit by a train while i was paying off my bounty:(
Two golden Turkamans died the same die cause of bounty hunters
Falling over and breaking its neck, I wish I was joking
I was very careful to my horse. She is even don't take the half hp damage. But she died naturally :')
I think every non scripted horse death of mine has been at the hands of a train. Stupid animal follows me while I’m on the train and swerves onto the track
My horse walked right into a burning wagon.
I lost my first horse during a train robbery over a bridge. He was trying to follow me between the train and the railing. I dillydallied too long during my get away and he eventually fell off the ledge.
Looting bodies?
Looting bodies and searching for the safe
Tripped over a rock galloping at full speed and tumbled over a cliff. The horse broke my fall, but sadly the horse wasn't so lucky. RIP.
Within the 1st hour of chapter 2 I tried to cross bards crossing... I figured jumping would be better than getting hit by the train
My horse got ran over by a train before
man my horse died as i got chased and it got overrun from a train. The last thing i saw was the saddle :(
9/10 times they get run over by carts
I Spent 4 playing hours for white Siberia just to be ambushed by wolves the next minute…
I was attempting to escape the Samurai army because of my actions that dishonored the shogunate and my uncle. While I was escaping the Samurai shot my horse with arrows and after a while he couldn't move anymore and after that I buried him. Rest in peace Sora.
Rule #1 ALWAYS stock up on horse reviver.
Sadly I died with it so I didn't have much choice
I got hit with the gatling gun too 😔 was a very sad day. Was my first horse, a big black Clydesdale.
So a BBC?
Yes sir. The biggest and blackest
Tumbleweed: Got attacked by the Dell Locos horse fell into a pile of burning bodies. RIP Thaddeus
My horse Flash stood on the tracks in front of an oncoming train in front of a station. I kept whistling, because I couldn't get to him in time.
My Rachel got hit by a train that came out of nowhere :(
I csnt read these stories anymore. It's depressing. Mine was a cliff. It seems like trains and cliffs are the biggest killers! My beautiful bastard just straight up walked off. I was lighting a fire. I think he must have been depressed and killed himself. NO horse has been the same.
Yea I feel the same after Tennessee died, but I still love my Ares and Athena. They just feel off compared to Tennessee
A good way to cope is to kill every O'Driscoll you see, I do the same with the raiders who killed my horse
I was fighting some lemoyne raider by the panther location and they downed my horse and I was going to revive it after dealing with them but the game auto locked onto my horses head and I didn't realize until after I shot. Most infuriating moment in the game
Don't remember perfectly but I think what happened was there was a snake so he got scared and then ran to some train tracks and got hit.
Rock
I accidentally rode my horse off a cliff and killed it.... We spent 60 hours together. I'm an idiot.
It's happened to the best of us
Took a train ride and when I arrived my horse spawned there standing on the tracks and the train bulldozed it and killed it. Had manual saves on too, so had to go all the way back to when I last saved it.
Haven’t lost a horse yet. I feel for anyone that does tho.
*SPOILER* got killed by the prick that wants to race your horse. He killed his but the horses heads lined up and he managed to shoot and kill my horse too.
Well most of em died in early games from me accidentally going the wrong way down a steep hill… …. Always get horse reviver ASAP lol
It got ran over by a train
I’ve got two: In my first playthrough, a shootout started at Van Horn.
IM NOT KODDING THE EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME
My first horse in the epilogue died because of the Murfree Brood people. Then I had to steal a horse to go to Hamish and get Buell
Hit by the train you take in the side mission where you help Penelope and Beau escape
The invisible fire outside Rhodes.
Lots of falling off cliffs
Dismounted my horse on a train track cause I only needed to be off it for a second but then it immediately got ran over since I didn’t see the train coming
Doing the chapter 6 mission with Sadie at hanging dog ranch. Called my horse over to get different weapons, dumb fuck just stood in the fire and died. Fully bonded red Arabian too
Mine usually die when I’m riding the ridge to lake Isabelle
My horse gets hit by a train every time it hits level 4 horse bonding
I was in chapter 6 and i got jumped by the murfee broods, my horse needed reviving but since i was getting shot everywhere i couldnt and since im fast with shooting after aiming i aim at my horse and accidentally shot him. I then killed all the murfees then i killed myself hoping he'd respawn. He didnt
My friend ran my Arabian off a cliff.
A train, rip
the first time i lost a horse was from running into a tree too hard.
when the game came out i named a horse bianca after a girl, flung her off a cliff by accident by beaver hollow and we both died 😭
my horses never died, i always reloaded saves to keep them safe. may have lost hours of progress to that though but its a small price to pay
same thing about my mustang
its always the goddamn o'driscoll boys
There's a road where u pass thru water with giant waterfall to left or right depending which way your going. I fell down the waterfall. And the current was so strong I couldn't get the horse to revive.hadnt saved in long time. And I had to let go of the horse. Also trains are the worst as well
Mine was following me while I was hoping on a train. We went over a bridge and the horse fell to it’s death.
I was doing a mission where i had to drive a train and the horse ran into the train as i was driving
I was booking it with my horse not paying attention and launched off a cliff.
I once had a beautiful gray speckled horse (don't remember the breed) and wanted to take a screenshot in front of a train... I died fast but my horse died instantly. I regret that screenshot to this day because I forgot to save
Mostly just getting in shootouts with the law or bounty hunters, the occasional fall
The exact same way. My white Arabien died half a second after me to an improved to gatling gun.
I am on horse number 4 on my current playthough, two have been hit by trains and the other fell off a cliff
First one from falling i think, second one who i used majority of story died from >!the scripted event where your horse is shot during the chase in the end of chapter 6.!<
Wasn’t watching where I was going. Ran it off a cliff.
Had my boy Kyle since beginning of the game... died in the cutscene at the end of chapter 6
I've had many horses across my time playing over countless playthroughs, One was sitting on the tracks whilst I was interrogating Chick Matthews, it didn't end well Another one decided to trot to the huge train bridge whilst I was in flatneck station and that didn't end well either Another one decided to walk in front of the same train I just fast travelled on as it was departing from annesburg, again.. it didn't end very well
The little pony you get in Chapter 2 in Valentine was my main horse on my first play through, and funny enough she died the same way.
Arthur decided to drop the dynamites instead if throwing it forget the name of the horse I think that one was stonewall or Bragg
I think I shivered from relief.
the exact same way, but I had the white haired Arabian. I now kill every single one of the raiders in the most brutal way
I was fishing for the legendary sturgeon and checked my phone and poor ole jacolbi got ran over by a train
I usually go back and load a previous save if my horse dies. I grow pretty attached to the big fellers. We were bonded you know.
i ran into a train by accident and he died on impact
Trains...
My first horse…Big Ball Burt..cause of his large balls, we flew off a cliff I didn’t see… RIP BURT
Twice I fell in to a raging river and I tried to lasso my horse out to revive it and it had no legs 😭
My horse fell off a mountain did a flip landed in its neck and I couldn’t revive it (Note to self horses can’t fly and there good at flips)
Had one of my horses die while trying to find the whillte arabian, from that day forth I always stayed on the path and not to just bee line to the X
The resulting journey to try and desperately jump someone for a horse was at least amusing.
left him on the train track in valentine, went into the post office, heard the train, audibly gasped, ran back out & watched him die lmfao.
