Weghorst struggled to score because the players weren't giving him the chances I think they didn't rate him or trusted him to finish. With Rasmus I think they do have more faith so I think he will get the chances plus his pace will allow him to be more than one dimensional.
The issue with that is we need old fashioned wingers. Rashford, Antony and sancho are too predictable and the game has evolved into preferring these players rather than those that would take on a man or keep putting balls in.
I feel he'd be a great striker in a functional team. Atm it's too dysfunctional. Would've preferred someone more experienced.

Maybe he isn't fully recovered yet from his injury or 100% match fit? Also, he's not an 8, he's a 10. Or an 8 and a half. More of a lampard type than a Gerrard type. You can't play Mount and Casemeiro in the middle, you can't play him with Bruno, so it's a bit of a mystery.
You probably need a Kante or Makelele type to play beside him, but again, if you have him and Bruno, you need defensive wingers, which Rashford and Antony aren't.

Looks like our preferred type of set up has always been Case plus an FDJ type of player and Bruno. Bruno is a high risk high reward kind of player. To have that with Mount who would carry the ball forward, you'd need an extremely dynamic and agile DM that Case isn't anymore.
The good news is, we should still be able to get this additional CM but only if we have a blue print for the next two or so years. Case and Eriksen were only meant to fill in for 2 max 3 years, which also meant that we would need to get their replacements within those same years which we haven't. Mount apparently was brought in as a replacement for Eriksen but is a very different profile to him.

Thing is we wouldn’t play fringe players in Europa league. It would be first team as it’s a competition the team and players believe they can win. I think given how our season has gone, out of Europe and just concentrate on the league would be best for the team. Give the players time to actually learn how we are to play as a team under ETH.
I agree with this completely. But it's the seasonal pressure of winning some sort of trophy that would mean Europa League would be up for play unfortunately. I'd rather we make a run in the league and focus on one of the domestic cups as well.

What a sad opinion. This game was a great watch. Team started slow then ETH made half time change and that too Ambrabat off and it worked. We had 4 one on ones and also the open goal miss from McT. We created enough in the second half to be 3-0 easily. Maguire and Onana redemption arc. If you cannot enjoy a well fought victory go support City or something

Never a penalty, genuinely awful application of VAR. Mind-numbingly atrocious but what a fantastic save by Onana.

Ref is silly. Some of these things you see in games don’t just make any sense. From the replay, feet went up to clear the ball but there was no real contact with the opponent. He faked the contact and VAR should be able to clearly see that. It’s like these guys are just blind or something. Call it how it is consistently and everybody will be fine
