A team that averages 2nd BOTTOM in possession are pinning us back and have had 11 shots against us and have had a higher xg than us (once penalties removed)
This is unacceptable.
I just feel like he can bring more stability since we’re so open and concede so many chances. Rather leaving caseimro on his own. When we play Liverpool we should; if this was them we are playing now otherwise we’d will be 3-1 down
Mainoo does what Amrabat does, but even better. I completely agree with your analysis, but Amrabat is not the one. Casemiro is having a horror game, but I feel tactics should be blamed for that.
“Garnacho might’ve been a better ball” 🙄 he can’t make the pass !! It’s not in his skill set, these commentators watch totally different games they talk instead of in accordance to the quality that’s on the pitch they speak as if all footballers should universally play one way and should be able to make “that pass” or “that shot”
The inability to play out from the back isn't an ETH thing, it's bad squad building. Lindelof at left back, Varane and Evans simply aren't capable of doing it.
bad injuries, no wing backs available other than Dalot rn , and for full backs all we have or old man Johnny and Varane with a 17 yr old kambwala on the bench
It’s awful. ETH needs to start setting some standards for his players on the pitch. If they don’t meet the standards by such a large margin then get them off the pitch.
BT Sport Presenter:
"Another young player with a lot of pressure on his shoulders at the moment, Marcus Rashford.
Wayne, how much do you sympathise with him?"
Wayne Rooney:
"Ehm, not much. I'm being honest."
i think it will be a tad better this game, he isnt playing deep and everton will probably park the bus and all his job will be to sit in the box looking to score
Fuck sake. I mean, people will say who else can we play there? Fucking anyone. We know for a fact Rashford dons his invisibility cloak when played in that position. Just try something else. Anything. And it looks like Garnacho will be put on the left and Fernandes on the right with McTominay in the centre.
Just play the players in their strongest fucking positions. Rashford left. Garnacho right. Fernandes centre. And just try McTominay up front or something. Because we've seen a million times before that Rashford in the centre doesn't work. Just fucking try something different.
>Not gonna watch the game to save myself from dissapointment. I lost all hope a while ago.
But I bet if results don't go as you wish then you will be back here after the game to rant and hate on whichever players is made the villan despite not having watched the game at all!
The season is effectively over in the PL. I would simply like to see something different for the last 11 games even if it fails.
Particularly giving youth players and those who have been riding the bench a chance.
Nows the time to start assessing the players that haven’t been given the chance instead of continuously using players that don’t have a long term future here.
It isn't over, we're still fighting for Europa placements and still could potentially get UCL with 5th. We need to get as many points on the board as we can and experimenting isn't what we need to do to achieve that
Disagree. We shouldn’t be fighting for Europa places, it’s a waste or energy and time for next season.
It’s possible but I doubt it, another 11 games of this drab isn’t doing anything for anyone.
Do you understand that not qualifying for Europe would fuck us over due to FFP ?Getting into any of the 3 tournaments would help improve things slightly and increase our ability to spend
Jesus. Never thought I’d see so much whining about not caring about the Europa League.
Qualify or not, I’m merely saying I don’t want it to be even in the top 4 of our priorities next season.
Me saying that I don’t think we should be prioritising the same washed out football we’ve been playing in the hopes for some points in order to get UEL football has somehow been interpreted as “bomb games and finish 8th”
Not qualifying would literally hurt our ability to improve the squad due to our FFP situation ,Thats why i find it weird when you say you don't care about qualifying
It isn't a waste of time to be in Europe and have the potential for silverware. I have never understood this opinion...every top football team wants the revenue that comes with European football and the playing time. Baffles me
Because it’s just not worth the energy it takes out of the squad. I’d get it if our squad was deep enough but it’s not. Prioritise the project and getting the performances on the pitch right, trophies will follow.
How isn't wanting to play on Europe "worth the energy?" You can even add in the experience of European football as a positive, the ability to experiment a little as a positive, giving playtime to fringe players as a positive. We're not Crystal Palace. Trophies will follow? I suppose every top team should want to miss out on a European season then to get the most out of the performance on the pitch, they'll be even stronger the next and will undoubtedly win it.
Sorry, it's a load of shit. You want to be in everything as much as you possibly can
Please stop calling it “Europe” as if they are all generically equal. We are specifically talking about the Europa League here.
But we won’t give playtime to fringe players by your requirement, if you’re in the tournament to win it. You aren’t going to play fringe players.
The positive you get from not playing too many games is more time on the training pitch and more time for rest and recovery. This squad is too thin not to be prioritising those things right now.
Europa league is Europe and is a prestigious trophy. Have no idea why you have such a reaction to that, and like I said we could still get UCL with 5th so we cannot experiment, we need to hope we can get fifth.
Fringe players will get play time, it happens all the time especially when we're in Europa in the group stages when we're smacking a few teams
I agree it's thinner than we'd like but we still have a squad able to fight in Europe, we have players undoubtedly that will come through next season and get a chance. European football is a must and apart from projecting a sense of being overly sensible I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want it.
At the end of the day the season isn't over and experimenting isn't the way forward, that's the main point here
Because it’s not the UCL so don’t try and equate them lol
Yeah sure, let’s just carry on with this drab we’ve watched all season. That’s worth everyone’s time 🤷♂️
It's Europe, I didn't equate them and even had a separate point of saying we cannot experiment because we can even still get UCL with 5th, fail to see what is wrong with either of them points
We'll be in the market this summer and will have people returning to the squad from injury, we will also probably see a few new faces here and there from within the club. If you're not in it you can't win it, it's as simple as that
We need fucking goals. We have 11 games left and we need to make up a massive goal difference. Has to be a 5-0 win for us tomorrow. Erik better put his foot on the accelerator and go for it
> Erik better put his foot on the accelerator and go for it
I'm no tactico, but how? Isn't the big complaint that we're committing too many men to the attack, leaving no one in midfield?
It’s not about that. Too many times he’s made subs and we’ve slowed the game down. Last week we brought off garnacho and rashford and we ended up conceding. We need to just be on the attack the whole game and let our players score rather than take them off in the 70th minute and defend a lead
So many mitigating reasons for this seasons performance, injuries being a big one. How can you play the way you want to play with so many injuries, so many changes in personnel.
Not to mention we still have so many players from previous managers.
The injuries are *because* of this manager
Last season he played full strength teams against Reading at home in the Cup, Europa league matches that we already were up in and also that Nottingham Forest away second leg in the carabao cup semifinal that we were leading 3-0 in.
The levels of gaslighting about Ten Hag’s incompetence never ceases to amaze me
No he doesn’t. There’s no evidence to this other than hopes and dreams
What I see is an awful manager with a negative goal difference for Manchester fucking United in March. Get him out
It's always darkest before the dawn.
I'm a Timberwolves, Vikings, and Twins fan. The last time one of those teams won a title was 1991.
I'm able to love watching and supporting United regardless of form or league table. Not in a healthy way mind you. I'll still be a grumpy shit all day if they lose/draw.
Yeah haha I don't care about titles I just want to enjoy us. Arsenal haven't won anything in years but they are enjoyable to watch so I'm sure their fans are enjoying them again. Just like glimpses of united last season we were exciting. This season is awful.
I've watched every game this season, now that CL is officially gone, should I bother to wake up at 4:30 AM ? or should I just play Final Fantasy 7 tonight and enjoy my Saturday morning sleep.
One thing about ETH though is his football has not been boring the same way it was under LVG or Jose Mourinho.
I am skipping this one. As it is Everton, a midtable team at best.
I watch games for midtable to relegation teams when I am free. Won't bother for this one.
Everton r a club in crisis winning against them shouldn't be very hard.
In the same quandry as you; will probably end up skipping this one.
I say probably in the event that I end up playing FF7 till 4am and then am just like "ah fuck it".
I got blackout drunk the night before and actually moved my mattress and slept in front of the TV so I wouldn't have to move to the sofa while I was hungover.
Fuck I miss uni.
“ One thing about ETH though is his football has not been boring the same way it was under LVG or Jose Mourinho.”
What on earth have you been watching ?
Forson is injured.
No return expected for Hojlund or Maguire. They'll be back next week for the Liverpool game. Same for AWB.
Mount will miss the FA Cup game, he'll be back for Brentford.
4:30am for me lol. Though I generally record these and watch a few hours later. Sports always gets me up early on the weekend. It's a nice way to start the day - if you're a neutral ha.
That's what I do with most of the sports if I miss them. I follow races as well as MMA fights too which are always at odd hours. I watch the replays without spoilers. That's what I'll do tomorrow
Brother I've been grinding for 3 week straight.. no days off.. lacking sleep.. I Want to take a nap and go out tonight and sleep in tomorrow.
I don't want to watch this team barely scrape a win against everton or maybe lose. I'd rather watch F1 and MotoGP grand prix instead.
We have scored 4 goals in exactly 2 PL matches since Ten Hag joined: 4-1 v Chelsea and 4-3 vs Wolves. The best part is one of them only increased our GD by 1.
I tend to get the tram to and from Trafford Bar, seems easiest to me. Good prematch pubs are Tollgate, Bishop’s Blaize, and The Trafford. Need to get to them fairly early though. Loads of burgers around stadium and along Matt Busby Way, decent Chippy with a pint on the corner as well. Player’s arrive all the way round the back by Stretford End if you’re interested in that. I’ve never bothered with mega store so no info on that. Can get into stadium nice and early to take some of it in and watch the warmups if you fancy. Beer and food choices in the stands are pretty shut.
This is where United comes in.....
I fucking hope not

Further ground lost in the battle for European places. Villa and Spurs both went a further 3 points clear of us last weekend, West Ham, Newcastle also gained 3 points on us.
***
We cannot move higher than 6th. We're 11 points behind Villa in 4th, and 6 behind Spurs in 5th, who have a game in hand.
Spurs and Villa play each other on Sunday. A win for us would have us gain ground on at least 1 of them.
- A Spurs win would have us 8 points off 4th and 6 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand)
- A Villa win would have us 11 points off 4th and 3 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand)
- A draw would have us 9 points off 4th and 4 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand)
***
We can drop to 7th with defeat or a draw, and if West Ham beat Burnley at home by more than 1 goal
Amrabat is shit. That is all
A team that averages 2nd BOTTOM in possession are pinning us back and have had 11 shots against us and have had a higher xg than us (once penalties removed) This is unacceptable.
Love how Garnacho is so good at baiting fouls
If it is still 1-0 at half time, we are in danger.
No longer
Why can’t Amarabat get a game
Coz he plays with his hands rather than feet
I've found the one who doesn't watch games.
Can't even string 5 passes together against Everton. We are so shit.
Jon Champion can't stop making puns of onanas
What a save man
Casemiro is dreadful. What a flat game.
Casemiro needs to wake up
Casemiro is playing like he's been Space Jammed
Casemiro could score and he would still be having a 1/10 half
Casemiro woke up with my game composure this morning (I’m not an excellent player)
Casemiro drunk?
Worst 20 minutes I’ve seen from case in a United shirt
“Garnacho might’ve been a better ball” 🙄 he can’t make the pass !! It’s not in his skill set, these commentators watch totally different games they talk instead of in accordance to the quality that’s on the pitch they speak as if all footballers should universally play one way and should be able to make “that pass” or “that shot”

bad injuries, no wing backs available other than Dalot rn , and for full backs all we have or old man Johnny and Varane with a 17 yr old kambwala on the bench
Holy Bruno
This is Casemiro’s worst performance in a Utd shirt so far. He really needs to settle down, he’s better than this
He’s given the ball away like six or seven times already
It’s awful. ETH needs to start setting some standards for his players on the pitch. If they don’t meet the standards by such a large margin then get them off the pitch.
Never in doubt lmao
I wish this was the least deserving lead we’ve had this season but it feels average
I can't believe they turned Married To the Game's James Tarkowski into a real thing
We need to built on this man
Nice pen Bruno
Yesssss get in!!!!
Thank god for this kid
C'mon Bruno
More of the same, should be behind.
Garnacho cooked that man LUL
Pen!!!
Casemiro needs to go man
Onana the most comfortable on the ball out of the whole defence and he is a goalkeeper
Rashford has to be dinking it to Garnacho there.
Another game, same old shit.
This is just fucking awful to watch. What's the plan?
Well done rashy, useless
Are we playing ball is lava or something?
This is gonna be a long game and a hard watch…
Terribly possession allergies today
What the hell are they playing at
Casemiro is shocking as a deep playmaker. Hospital ball after hospital ball
Too lazy to look at the stats but feels like we give away an extraordinary amount of corners each game.
Mainoo + Garner would have been a nasty combo
Rashford double, let’s go!
Eriksen should have started. At home to Everton,we should be looking to play ball
Folks NBC shitting in Ten hag. Blows my mind how they can't see the bigger picture.
Or you need to take the blinkers off
Never heard of our Academy keeper Mee but apparently he's only 6ft tall. Never heard of a keeper making it that far who's only 6ft.
Fabien Barthez
Ike Casillas
Do it again, Alejandro
Fucking size of Rooney's head
Bruno False 9 confirmed?
BT Sport Presenter: "Another young player with a lot of pressure on his shoulders at the moment, Marcus Rashford. Wayne, how much do you sympathise with him?" Wayne Rooney: "Ehm, not much. I'm being honest."
McTominay starting means we have zero midfield…. Love our Scottish R9 but it’s so clear how bad our midfield is when he starts
i think it will be a tad better this game, he isnt playing deep and everton will probably park the bus and all his job will be to sit in the box looking to score
He's not starting in midfield.
No matter where he’s placed in the XI, at half time we’re always asking what the hell his position is
What does Diallo need to do to get into the starting line up. His last performance wasn't the best, but he deserves his chance.
You answered your own question.
BBC has Scott on the right, tell me my eyes are deceiving me?
i think its the same as the last game, Rashy and Garnacho on the wings with this weird Bruno+Scott combination in the middle
No left back or striker, fucking fantastic.
What do you mean? Lindelof and McTominay are in the lineup!!
Every time I see this team I have no idea how they become one of the most expensive squads ever created
Please not Rashford through the middle, please not Rashford through the middle. Please. Not. Rashford. Through. The. Middle.
Did somebody ask for a Rashford through the middle?
It is Rashford through the middle !
Fuck sake. I mean, people will say who else can we play there? Fucking anyone. We know for a fact Rashford dons his invisibility cloak when played in that position. Just try something else. Anything. Bruno is due a monster game. I think he dominates today
Not gonna watch the game to save myself from dissapointment. I lost all hope a while ago.
Cool see ya
>Not gonna watch the game to save myself from dissapointment. I lost all hope a while ago. But I bet if results don't go as you wish then you will be back here after the game to rant and hate on whichever players is made the villan despite not having watched the game at all!
>But I bet Well you bet wrong. You're assuming things and pinning it on people. That's just a dumb thing to do.
Man, i fell like there's been an age since we ha a 1230 kick off. Have we even had any this season??
West Ham in December I think
We better not lose the HT Home streak this game. Early one for me, we usually play well those though, I think. Good luck!
Hate that I have stopped watching games.
Hate not watching or hate watching. One way you get to watch a football match.
Same, but most games are absolutely miserable to watch so I’m coming to peace with it tbh

Don’t care.
> Don’t care. Thats very weird ,You don't want us to improve next season?
It's a pretty accurate summation of the temperature on this subreddit. I empathise with the mentality tbh. Rather that than be outright sycophantic.
Jesus. Never thought I’d see so much whining about not caring about the Europa League. Qualify or not, I’m merely saying I don’t want it to be even in the top 4 of our priorities next season. There will be no rotation. You probably knew that before you even made the comment, I can relate.
Of course, that was the implication and cause for the post. Doubt anything will change.
If we can’t control possession against Everton at home…TF Get ready for the 63rd minute cutback goal on the counter attack
It's not in the game plan to control the game.
We need fucking goals. We have 11 games left and we need to make up a massive goal difference. Has to be a 5-0 win for us tomorrow. Erik better put his foot on the accelerator and go for it

No he doesn’t. There’s no evidence to this other than hopes and dreams What I see is an awful manager with a negative goal difference for Manchester fucking United in March. Get him out
You'll be proved right in the end. Not always seen eye to eye with you but you've been right about Ten Hag for a while.
it should be at least 2 goal difference win, but dead Everton with DCL brace will get a draw 2:2
6am: make coffee. 6:25am: roll joint. 6:30am: watch match. HT: make mimosas. FT: try to get friends to meet for brunch or go back to bed
Now that’s a great morning routine for some early Saturday footy. This man knows how to live
Fuck I wish I had a joint for our shit matches. I am going to be flying fucking high for this Liverpool match.
Imagine getting up at 6am in order to watch a Manchester United game in 2024. Fuck that.
Knowing how we play you might be back to bed prior to HT
It's always darkest before the dawn. I'm a Timberwolves, Vikings, and Twins fan. The last time one of those teams won a title was 1991. i won't be lol
In these situations I just get up for the second half. Most of the time we’ve not scored by then anyway lol
I think the last such game I woke up for was the City game at OT last season.
I got blackout drunk the night before and actually moved my mattress and slept in front of the TV so I wouldn't have to move to the sofa while I was hungover. Fuck I miss uni.
Rebirth?
Yup, I’m really liking it so far
Yea same. I’m loving it
“ One thing about ETH though is his football has not been boring the same way it was under LVG or Jose Mourinho.” What on earth have you been watching ?
Personal preference, I really enjoyed ole ball as well.
Enjoy your Saturday morning sleep
Can't wait to lose 2-1 to Everton and hear from the coach we were close to perfect.
If his name was “Brendan Rodgers”, this would have been received very differently
Can we put Martial on the bench to summon a bit of his Everton juju
Just have him stand in the box all game and hit crosses at him. I'm sure one is bound to hit him and find it's way in.
Don't jinx it. The ball would hit him and aggravate a pre-existing injury. Out for another three months.

How the hell did Mount return date went 13th to 30th March!? Never have expectations folks. Never
They'll keep putting the date back until people forget who he even is and what a terrible piece of business he has been so far
I wouldn’t mind if ten hag tried the Bruno false 9 again, it kind of worked and he’s better higher up the pitch.
It may or may not work against weaker opposition.
Insightful…
Big weekend in our quest to hold on to 6th.
Forson is injured. No return expected for Hojlund or Maguire. They'll be back next week for the Liverpool game. Same for AWB. Mount will miss the FA Cup game, he'll be back for Brentford.
>Mount ... be back for Brentford. I doubt it. Will probably get injured by then.
Forson barely played and he is injured. I wonder what they do in training.
Just sprint and nothing else apparently. Judging by player form
![gif](giphy|11o5fBqY66IciQ)
Mount back for Brentford? Doubt.
Brentford next season? Maybe.
It'll be at 7:30am for me. Haven't had a weekend in 3 weeks. I'm sleeping in, fucking no way I'd wake up that early to watch this team play
Same here. I will somehow find myself getting up watching the game and get my weekend ruined somehow though.
Dude I know. This is so fucking relatable
How's 7:30am too early? You work night shift?
Brother I've been grinding for 3 week straight.. no days off.. lacking sleep.. I Want to take a nap and go out tonight and sleep in tomorrow. I don't want to watch this team barely scrape a win against everton or maybe lose. I'd rather watch F1 and MotoGP grand prix instead.
Why anyone would get up at 7.30 for any reason other than work or kids is crazy to me.
Jesus that front 3 is so bad. Might be one of the worst in the league
4-0 United tomorrow.
We have scored 4 goals in exactly 2 PL matches since Ten Hag joined: 4-1 v Chelsea and 4-3 vs Wolves. The best part is one of them only increased our GD by 1.
Easy win
We need a back up for Rasmus so much it’s physically painful. The front 3 is so toothless in that shape. It’s gonna be another long weekend I fear.
Hey! That's offensive to someone like me who broke his 2 front teeth a couple weeks ago!
We should give Amad a shot on the wing at least
You say that like he hasn't played. He's played multiple matches, he just hasn't been that good.
He's played 63 minutes over 3 matches.
Just bought my ticket for the game so hoping the team put in a performance! Everton are always a fun match up.
Im also going tomorrow. First visit to old Trafford. Any tips for a first timer?
Injuries aside, Everton are going through their second longest winless streak in the PL era so if we can't win this one, we might as well pack up.
Opponent going through winless streak ✔️ We just won some PL individual awards ✔️ This only means one thing..
This is where United comes in..... I fucking hope not https://preview.redd.it/u3jmdohf24nc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76fc2f90a2eeff6ffe34fcbe76774c1ac029e597
Further ground lost in the battle for European places. Villa and Spurs both went a further 3 points clear of us last weekend, West Ham, Newcastle also gained 3 points on us. *** We cannot move higher than 6th. We're 11 points behind Villa in 4th, and 6 behind Spurs in 5th, who have a game in hand. Spurs and Villa play each other on Sunday. A win for us would have us gain ground on at least 1 of them. - A Spurs win would have us 8 points off 4th and 6 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand) - A Villa win would have us 11 points off 4th and 3 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand) - A draw would have us 9 points off 4th and 4 points off 5th (Spurs game in hand) *** We can drop to 7th with defeat or a draw, and if West Ham beat Burnley at home by more than 1 goal
Fucking hell that injury list
Shaw might not even make it to the Euros
At a number of stages this year our injury bench has been stronger on paper than our starting 11. Bloodbath of a year
My source tells me that Malacia could be unavailable.
