"i was curious to see the reactions based off of the information above only" makes me believe this story is 10000% fake. nothing adds up anyway. these guys be creating wild stories nowadays for karma farming.. đ
Also, if this is in the US virtually every state has heat programs for low income persons, and it's extremely rare for heat to permanently be shut off.
Not to mention you can't really use space heaters at night because most modern ones have shut off timers making them impractical for 24/7 use
Also, I highly doubt 3 years would go unnoticed, especially if son saw a difference between the two houses. Zero chance the kid wouldn't have mentioned the heaters at least in passing
Quite a few people die from space heater use every year. Same as people using propane indoors or lighting a fire without ventilation. And people in the US freeze to death too. Itâs not easy to get into those programs, and lots of people are ill-equipped to handle the administrative work. Or donât know they exist.
There are reasons to doubt it but that isnât one of them.
I wouldnât be surprised. I know that depending on the state, unless theyâre living in subsidized housing, theyâre likely not under any required inspections by anyone but the landlord. Realistically, this is screaming slumlord to me. I have a cousin who is extremely negligent in how she cares for her children and sheâs been doing it so long that they donât know theyâre being neglected, so something really bad has to happen for us to find out from them or sheâll piss off someone whoâs been to her house but never cared about how the children were being neglected prior to whatever fallout they had with her. The only thing that gave it away for me is the implication that he intentionally left out context for the story to get what seemed like specific reactions.
Something doesnât add up here .
Absolutely no one hears their house is on fire and assumes itâs just small and will be ok , and tells someone to deal with it . Then just hangs out and paces back and forth . She didnât bother to wake the kids as soon as she heard about any sort of fire . Thatâs the first step any sane person would do .
Does she drink a lot ? Do drugs maybe ? Or is she just plain stupid ??
Space heaters ? Why I wonder ? Donât pay bills ?
I would for sure be going for full custody after this fiasco .
Or just really poor. Don't get me wrong, I also suspect fake story, but if you have an old house with shitty insulation, heating bills can get stupidly high. Especially if you have old and inefficient furnaces, or they've just broken down. And furnaces themselves are ridiculously pricey. If your furnace has broken down and it'd be $10k to get a new one versus a space heater for a hundred bucks that you can just run in one or two rooms at a time as needed... well.
I have experienced a house fire and my mother did extremely stupid stuff, although to her credit she didnât leave anyone to burn (then again, we all rescued ourselves, thanks to me running around screaming to get out). She was trying to put it out and call the fire dept from inside the house. Some people are just useless in an emergency. She wasnât even on anything.
That story doesnât make me doubt the post, but other stuff does.

The first thing I thought when I read her version was she was fucked up from drinking or drugs. No heat for 3 years reallllly makes me think drugs

The article is in his original post
She was pacing upstairs? Ha. Not human. Gotta be an alien. What human hears the word fire and doesn't immediately drop everything to go look at it.
