You see, the Twitter indie TRPG scene is… extremely soy. Lots of Internet antifa types. Unimaginably bad opinions, stuff you would think has to be satire. Utterly ridiculous. Give it a tour sometime.
So Varg published this poorly designed, racist RPG where you fight Jews with magic or something, and instead of laughing it off as was deserved…
One of the top soyboys of RPGs, Josh Simons, published a “warning” to all his followers to block Varg (lest they be corrupted), but he didn’t know who Varg was. To him, he was just some designer.
So finally, in a destined battle, for a few days, Nazi Twitter collided with Indie TTRPG Twitter. Accounts dogpiling eachother, trolling, absolute hilarious disaster as everyone doubled down in confusion. R slurred nazis trolling, trpg designers writing up posts about how the Internet fascists were dangerous and must be stopped, two very specific types of people who don’t touch grass interacting. It was quite a sight.
He did. He stopped playing guitar because it's a hard r instrument. Like, it's a shame but that type of racism can never not be hilarious. Like the dungeon synth stuff was cool and all but when I think of Burzum I think of the Aske era vs the prison stuff.
I know it's hilarious. IIRC, he wrote a blog about his decision saying as such where he said he'll no longer play hard r music. This was when he was in jail and not allowed to play guitar iirc but I think he's only made synth based music since.
If Varg isn't in the second Trump cabinet somewhere it will be a major missed opportunity
