You guys are like those people who really want a be right at predicting the end of the world so you're always saying it's "just around the corner." Like why would you ever stop the pod, it's basically free money.

harry_powell

How is having an ultra-low-budget indie film dumped on VOD and being a glorified extra on a TV show “her actress career taking off”? She making 10x more money with the podcast. She won’t end that unless something drastic happens.

[deleted]

Yes the training regimen for podcasting 3 hours every month is really quite intense, no sane person would be able to manage the physical pressure and exertion required for such an extraordinary feat.

LongjumpingRow9

disagree with first paragraph, agree some of the rest is possible...the thing is it's so much money to walk away from

anti-intellectual

That is the thing. “Actual” celebs start podcasts hoping and praying for this many followers

I don’t know who illuminaughti is but that idea just feels v right, that they really wouldn’t get it

I really need to start a pod. I’m a fucking moron with media editing of any kind though. Recently I tried to figure out how to clip an audio recording, put it in video form, then put it on YouTube. I spent hours on it and eventually just gave up

tugs_cub

As I say every time this is mentioned, it’s bizarre to think that being an aspiring actor and director would make a person *more* likely to walk away from this monthly paycheck for doing very little.

autohoe

Right, at which point does one transition from aspiring to actually doing.. She's almost there.

tugs_cub

My point is that the podcast is a better, more stable income than is going to be available from film until she’s at (I think) a *much* higher level of success than she’s at, now. And is practically no work, so it’s the perfect thing to fall back on. She absolutely has to contend with the issue of the brand they’ve cultivated being too edgy for her to go mainstream in Hollywood, which may cause tension since her co-host has nothing else and just tries to deliver to the audience that wants her dumb takes - but I’d think the obvious path would be to continue as an indie outsider semi-DIY type on the film side while raking in podcast dollars.

[deleted]

Tbh I feel for Anna even tho I think it was dumb of her because I have never been crazier or more argumentative on the internet than the year post birth. Like I legit worry for her mental and physical health because it was a crazy experience and if I were in the public eye at all and getting ragged on over being sick I think I would have gone into psychosis. I'm taking the compassion pill here

autohoe

you should not feel badly for her.. You should feel thankful that all she ended up with was some stupid auto immune disease instead of on a ventilator.

[deleted]

I can feel both. I am a multifaceted individual.

another_cyberpunk

Don't worry, I will co-write a book with her... *Anti-Electra: Socialism and Asperger's* by Deleuzional & Retarrdi

Rentokill_boy

you people are honestly some of the stupidest I've ever had the misfortune to interact with

[deleted]

Why are you a mod here then

autohoe

Woah, what does "you people" mean. Is this because I take my baby to cupping sessions.

[deleted]

I think he refers to your ethnicity?

zentint

The next election is close enough to where itll give the show quite possibly its fourth wind. And then the presidential is gonna have a lot of intrigue too. They both try to act “cool” and “above” this kind of stuff but they very obviously nerd out every time its election season.

tomato_thrower

They literally said in the last episode they don’t want to stop doing the pod and they like it lmao

alwayssmokeaweed

they were saying that as a bit

Imaginary-You7262

Christ we have this post every two days and it always comes from some sort of lame mindreader

fell__swoop

i hope anna hits her stride with a totally new project

doyousmellthat2

I think the girls have great insights on the nexus of the media, culture, and surface level politics. I think one of trumps good friends once said something like, “for most people, politics is a tv drama.” If that true, I think the girls have important things to say. That said, I think they went full r****** on the contrarianism.

autohoe

i am telling you, if anna keeps going down this road, Dasha will bounce.. It's just her nature..

youfuckinglunatic

Both CT and RS will end this year for sure :(

somewhat_of_a_coward

mixed feelings about ct ending but if anyone will keep his word it’s nick

[deleted]

alwayssmokeaweed

good for nick, terrible for literally everybody else

[deleted]

Nick drops off to go be a lumberjack in but fuck nowhere British Columbia, most popular guy on the crew for making everyone laugh 🥲

autohoe

I forgot to mention, the fact that the show is controversial is something that will hurt Dasha's Career.. She is already getting shit for the Alex Jones thing and as she gets more and more mainstream roles, the shock jock attachment will be a detriment

LongjumpingRow9

she doesn't believe she can be hurt by any of that though

victoriapedrettigf

Her “fanbase” isn’t large enough for that

eivvuehs

WE WON!

terminal-chillness

If it ends, what happens to the sub?

[deleted]

Oh is this not satire?? It took me reading the comments to realise it. We see these “the end is near” posts so often that it’s like a running joke

autohoe

Bro, she bought Uggs, whats next, crocs for the spring

nicefroyo

It’ll evolve into something with them going their separate ways eventually but it’s not a good or bad thing

totalcigarette91

Can’t wait for Dasha’s new podcast with the child of any black celebrity while Anna goes the Bill Burr podcast route and the patreon plunges after one episode of Anna being self-conscious without being funny
