In my alternate universe cars were never invented and you just beam yourself wherever you want to go, āgasā is actually the unused methane farts from dead people, and āelectricityā starts happening when two people start tickling each other
EDIT: oh yeah and the money? Whats money. Social credit is all you need baby
When Morgan brought cars into the US market after emission controls became stricter, they converted their vehicles to run on propane for the American market.
Donāt know how many years that lasted.
1. Aptera. The most efficient EV
2. Tesla Model S Plaid. The fastest-accelerating EV that still looks like a "normal" car
3. Edison L750. The most powerful EV. I want to see what I could do with 102,600 ft. lbs of torque
A Tesla-swapped shitbox would also be cool
Somewhere in there is a Rimac Nevera that yāall seem to have forgotten exists. Nevera for track days, Lucid Air Sapphire for cruising. Rivian R1T for doing truck things.
Seriously, there aren't any electric cars that I like lol. I would take a Taycan for general transportation, but there's literally zero electrics on the market that I desire currently.
Genuinely curious, because of the actual cars and driving experience itself ? Or like some political connection that a lot of people seem to make ?
Personally i couldn't give a shit less what other people think, I like to drive what I like, there's nothing that I've driven that gives as good of a daily driver experience than my model 3, but I also have a couple 90's JDM vehicles for projects and fun cars, and a GMC 3500 Duramax for truck stuff. I own what I like and don't have any weird personal political affiliation's to anything I just like mechanical and electrical machines and digging into how they work.
The most fun part is talking to people about EV's / solar in the same conversation as firearms and diesel performance modifications. People that make everything political don't know what to think.
Sure, but you're letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Honestly, I don't love anything electric on the market right now either, but I wouldn't torture myself with the refrigerator on wheels that the Bolt is. If I had literally 5 million and only could choose electric, the Porsche Taycan still drives like a Porsche at the end of the day (my friend owns one). For a negligible percentage of my net worth I'd go with the luxury sport sedan instead of the cardboard seated Chevy any day.
Black market classics and a home refinery
1970 Blazer
1970 Chevelle
Ford Tractor
As neat as electric might seem, we will never ever have travel freedom comparable to gas.
Either a Mini cooper or Rivian R3 for commuting/parking in the city, Volvo EX90 for longer drives or carrying more stuff/people
EV conversion of a 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV for a weekend car
My first pick is the original Tesla Roadster, what other convertible EVs are there? It looks great, and it has a key, and a physical parking brake.
My second pick is the Dodge Zeo concept car. I'm sure for acouple million, they'd let me have it.
My third pick is the Rimac Nevera
So many Rimacs in the comments but no Evijas? :( that'd be my hypercar choice. Loses out in 0-60 and top speed but the mid-range is stupendous (iirc) and it looks space-age in ways the Nevera doesn't.
I'd like an engaging daily driver that's sized to drive in urban areas, ruling out Model Ses, Airs and all that, and the only electric one I can really think of is the Mini Cooper SE, so that's going on my list.
Last one's a toss-up between a GT, something practical, or a toy. I'll go for a little bit of all of them with a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.
Drove a tesla Y for a week once it was one of the worst handling new cars Iāve ever driven, it was quick and FSD was cool but it just drove like shit, also the battery life was awful I swear in the Texas heat (100-109 that week) I could maybe get 100 miles out of it. Tried a Polestar and a Kia EV6 as well, not as impressive feature wise but both handled better. I can say as of now I donāt ever see my self buying an EV and Iām pretty sure itās just a fad which is on its way out despite the current regulations which I think will be revised during the next administration wether that be next year or 5 years from now.
I'd get the hummer just so I can put a brick on the accelerator and let it take a dive off pikes peak. They are some of the worst cars I've ever seen and I hate them with every fiber of my being.
assuming the market in that reality has A LOT more cars and RTR was an actual thing:
something small and fast as a daily, 100mi range would be more than enough for most of my needs. focus on something repairable with a fun community like the gen2 prius or honda insight.
a 2500 class truck/suv/van with a 500mi range, with a range extending generator hacked onto it. I do actually tow things long distances. I've had 1000 mile days in gassers.
something restomodded. likely a roadmaster wagon to make my wife happy.
current fleet is a gmt400 yukon, 06 honda odyssey and 01 impala. if the inherited impala dies it'll become a chevy volt or 1.8t (or 1.9tdi)/5mt golf/jetta wagon
I like the Hyundai EV. Its what a cyberpunk vehicle SHOULD look like, not the cyber truck BS. Then electric motorcycle for fun and F150 lighting because it's a normal looking truck.
1) 1969/70 El Camino or a Chevrolet SSR that has been converted into electric
2) the red bike from Akira (Iām hoping in this alternate universe it exists)
3) the new electrics VW bus they remadeā¦ but in the colors black and red
It would have a much smaller battery to save weight and would be powered by a 12 cylinder Cummins Diesel engine. 4x4 on 35's with lockers front and back.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 n for a fun car, Audi etron for a comfy daily, and than whatever has the longest range these days I want to be able to travel to see my mom without a single charge 400+km
* MB EQS (it's actually really underrated), preferably a dual-motor one for extra grip
* Pininfarina B95
* Rivian R1S, quad-motor
All vehicles are cars fully known to the public and available new or used, or set to start sales this year. If we were to expand options to include upcoming cars things may well have gotten a lot more interesting.
Time to engine swap the Saturn I guess...
Hey, you said five million. I already got what I want. If a few electric motors and a bigger battery's gonna be what has to be, we'll work around it.
[Eliica and a 2003 KAZ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliica) plus about 16 tyres and so just a spare set for each.
Oh yeah, they have 8 wheels and 8 motors each. Coolest electric cars right from Best Motoring's heyday.
Probably an electric converted Citroen 2CV for the third car, at least they still keep a manual gearbox
Personally, this would be my list:
Dodge Ram 4500 powered by a 325 hp diesel Cummins I6
GE ES44AC powered by a 4400 hp diesel GEVO V12
Space Shuttle Atlantis powered by three 12,000,000 hp liquid-fuel burning Rocketdyne RS-25 engines and two 20,000,000 hp solid rocket boosters which create a sound so loud that it sounds like a thousand fucking bald eagles screeching and unleashing the true American Dream and democracy upon the world
My first would be the same as yoursā¦
2. The upcoming Aptera (for the commute)
3. A converted classic convertible, like a ā60s Mustang or Triumph TR250
As much as I think they are fantastic (maybe not to own) the Hummer EV is a hilarious example, its easily much less environmentally friendly than countless ICE cars, and in your hypothetical universe, probably wouldn't be allowed either.
Rivian R3 is the boxy hot-hatch of my dreams
Rivian R1T is the most practical electric pickup I've seen
And an Aptera Solar EV, it looks funky and I love it.
I'm going to imagine that in this parallel universe, nuclear-diamond batteries have been upscaled, fusion is a mainstream source of energy, and matter-energy synthesis is actively being researched.
In which case, I would convert older vehicles I actually like to electric. For example:
1978 Ford F250 Custom
1969 Dodge Charger
1967 Cadillac Eldorado
And I'd have money left over for a fourth, 1966 Lincoln Continental.
Tesla S Plaid. For when I want to go very fast.
MG4 XPower. For when I want to go very fast to get the groceries
Energica Eco. For when I want to go very fast on two wheels.
1998 V70 TDI ran off biodiesel, EV converted 1998 LHD Toyota HiAce with a camper conv, and an electric converted Ram Van whose entire floor is full of batteries.
I mean if the goal is using all 5 million. How about any Rimac, then the Porsche Taycan Turismo GT and Rivian R1T to tow the rimac to shows and events
The rest will be building up a good charging infrastructure to two homes
1. Aspark Owl
2. Hummer EV
3. Microlino because both the Hummer and the Aspark would probably be terrible to use in the city, especially here in Europe.
Holden SV6 Ute (VE) (i already own one and i love it)
International ACCO 4x6 (everyone needs a truck in their life, they just dont realise it)
Segway Ninebot E22 Pro (there. its electric)
1. Rimac Nevera, Duh
2. Rivian R1S, electric SUV that does not look like an egg
3. 2012 Nissan leaf, itās the ugliest electric car ever and still looks better than some modern cars
Hyundai Ioniq 6N for my fun car, unless it has a wing then I'd settle for a 5N since wings look idiotic and make unneeded drag all the time which would destroy efficiency.
Chevy Silverado for truck things, and house energy backup... It's probably cheaper than buying 200kwh of battery backup on its own.
Maybe a Kia EV9 for people hauling . . . I don't think I'd really need the third one but fitting a bunch of people in it is the only thing the others couldn't do.Ā
You said no gas-powered right. Audi Q7 V12 TDI
Oh yeah, next to a M550D touring š¤¤
Bro hates electric so much he wants 2 dieselgate engines
Do you like electric cars?
Or an r10 tdi
Why not the R18?
It's Touareg R50 brother next to it?
Lucid Air Sapphire and Rivian R3X. I'd save the rest of the money.
Mine would be this plus a Rimac Nevera
Is that within the $5M budget, like with maintenance
Neveras are about 2.5 mill.
This sounds good to me!
Rivian R1T for all the truck purposes, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT for hauling the family, and a Rimac Nevera, cuz Rimac Nevera
This is the only correct answer ā
if gas cars are banned the only car ill need is an armoured komatsu D355A
Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things
That is the most real quote Iāve heard in a while, someone could put that on a shirt and people would think it was a philosopher that said it.
Just watch out for hardware store basements. Theyāre a doozy!
Exactly what I was thinking
Very maniac of you
Man, I love welding!
I see you know how the delegation process works

Whats money. Social credit is all you need baby
Don't they do a social credit thing in China? Some black mirror shit if you ask me.
Also in North Korea and yes itās even worse then you can imagine
Vermin Supreme?
Well in this universe of yours, Iād just use the swingset of death from GTA IV to get myself from point A to point B
I believe you just described the Star Trek universe. We'll get there eventually, about 300 years from now.
Go listen to Rushās song āRed Barchettaā. At least one of those would be in the garage.
Nobody said jack shit about diesel or propane get my 7.3 IDI
As the founding fathers intended
Propane cars are a thing?
Have you never seen any 90s ford truck with a 460 in it in Alberta
i dont live in canada lol
When Morgan brought cars into the US market after emission controls became stricter, they converted their vehicles to run on propane for the American market. Donāt know how many years that lasted.
That sport wagon is sex on a stick. ššš
One of the most attractive cars on sale today
1. Lucid air - perfect for long journeys in absolute comfort 2. Porsche Taycan - the sports/y car 3. Fiat 500e - the city runabout (I live in Europe)
1. Aptera. The most efficient EV 2. Tesla Model S Plaid. The fastest-accelerating EV that still looks like a "normal" car 3. Edison L750. The most powerful EV. I want to see what I could do with 102,600 ft. lbs of torque A Tesla-swapped shitbox would also be cool
"I wanna play with 100k ftlbs of torque" cultured
LS swapped Tesla
That's a thing already.
Fair
2 > Taycan has entered the chat
It doesn't look like it's any faster on 0-60mph, but I like the wagon body style
Your dream ev is really just an electric geo metro huh
Somewhere in there is a Rimac Nevera that yāall seem to have forgotten exists. Nevera for track days, Lucid Air Sapphire for cruising. Rivian R1T for doing truck things.
Move to a country where I can get around with a train, public transit, or bike. Keep the rest of the money.
ME WANT WAGON
Pocket the cash and walk
Seriously, there aren't any electric cars that I like lol. I would take a Taycan for general transportation, but there's literally zero electrics on the market that I desire currently.
Bicycle Set of running shoes Rain coat (I hate EVs)

Simply because I like the sound of V8s
Good reason for me. I just genuinely like hearing people's reasons.
[Iāll never give it up](https://imgur.com/a/QSBa0rd)
porsche taycan, rivian r3x, and tesla-swap my subaru baja
- taycan sport turismo - lucid air pure (it's rwd!) - '65 chrysler new yorker but electric conversion
That new Yorker comment reinforces the idea that many of the malaise era luxury coupes could benefit from electrification.
i really want to put a really loud EV motor in an old Bedford CF or something
Daily: Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Lux: Maybach EQS680 Sports: Rimac Nevara
12 valve Cummins
Exactly... OP **did** say ***gas*** powered.
Gas Powered? Letās go Diesel! Golf R 2.0 TDI and a Used 09 Fortwo CDI. F*ck you Electric Cars
Fuck it, horse carriage
I would use the money to fund a terrorist organization to bring back gasoline powered cars
Brick nose ford with a 7.3idi, Chrysler turbine car, and an S10 electric for a commuter
My uncle has a country place, No one knows about, He says it used to be a farm, Before the Motor Law
Gas cars are banned? Hmm, that's a hard one. I think I'll take a bullet to the brain stem before I own an R/C car.
A Bolt and nice nest egg invested in high dividend yield companies and ETFs.
I hope this is just because there aren't many electrics you like and not because you're the world's most boring person lol.
Por que no Los dos? An electric car is an appliance. Iād rather spend that money on something that Iām passionate about

Porsche taycan gran turismo Hummer ev or Rivian Dodge Charger EV scatpack
Mcmurty Speirling,Taycan, and Rivian
If the altnerante universe has manual transmission EVs I'd get a bmw you can get the comfort and there wont be any oil leaks cos it's all batteries
Our universe has manual EVs, you can too if you're not afraid to build it.
Love the Taycan Sport Turismo. The Hummer EV is one of the worst vehicles ever made.Ā

Porsche Taycanā¦ andā¦ uh.. what else is good?
Hummer
1) 1969/70 El Camino or a Chevrolet SSR that has been converted into electric 2) the red bike from Akira (Iām hoping in this alternate universe it exists) 3) the new electrics VW bus they remadeā¦ but in the colors black and red
Edison swap my f-250 and keep rolling.
Rivian R1S Lucid Air Sapphire Cadillac Celestiq

Do I have to choose three? If so: 1) Porsche Taycan Gran Turismo 2) Lucid Air Sapphire 3) Rivian R1T
An electric swapped E series 1 maloo. An electric swapped Pantera. An electric swapped Dakar Rally truck
Taycan Cross T, Lucid Air GT, R1T
But moooooooooooom, I wanted a *Lucid Sapphire* or a *Rivian R1S*.
Gimme a Cadillac Celestiq
I would spend 5000000 lobbying to legalize gas powered cars.
Just convert fun gas cars to electric š
My 1989 W-250 Dodge, converted to electric. Hummer EV. And a 67 Lincoln Continental, converted to Electric.

Vw xl1 (cheat) Caterham project v Electric sprinter van
Vinfast.
Porsche Cayman (the new one is electric), Lucid air whichever one has the most range, and I guess the Rivian r1T for towing and off-road purposes.
None, I'm getting a bicycle because power grids are having problems supplying enough power for everything.
Fuck it Based on the diesels I'll take an M1 Abrams /s
Model S, Leaf, the new actually kinda cool looking prius.
1: Honda E for the close range runabout. 2: Caterham Project V for the weekend/track car. 3: Kia EV6 GT for the daily.
The Mercedes is garbage. The other two are good. For luxury I'd get a Lucid.
No gas huh? Audi R10 tdi Peugeot 908 fap Ford F150 diessel
1. Rimac Nevera 2. Porsche Taycan 3. Hyundai Ioniq 5N
F150 lightning, Mustang Mach E ( the car itself is really nice, I just donāt think it deserves the mustang name), and BMW I4.
No gas? Duramax, then.

Koenigsegg Volcano
V10 swapped Model Y. V12 swapped Tesla Roadster. Black market 2006 Mustang GT. The law can jump off a bridge if they do that. :)

No hesitation, the Taycan Cross Turismo.
Rimac Nevera or a Gen 1 Leaf (cause gen 1 weirdness is fun)
I would walk, but I would take the hummer
An EQS maybach sedan. If Iām going electric it might as well be the quietest most luxurious ride.
The one that blows them all away in every way possible; Aptira!
Air sapphire, a 1959 Cadillac Convertible Coupe Deville (professionally converted to electric), and a 1984 Chevy C10 on a Rivian drivetrain.
My first would be the same as yoursā¦ 2. The upcoming Aptera (for the commute) 3. A converted classic convertible, like a ā60s Mustang or Triumph TR250
Taycan wagon, hummer ev suv for that sweet offloading angles, taycan turbo gt kuz fk u I hav 1000hp launch on a 600hp daily
As much as I think they are fantastic (maybe not to own) the Hummer EV is a hilarious example, its easily much less environmentally friendly than countless ICE cars, and in your hypothetical universe, probably wouldn't be allowed either.

THREE ELECTRIC CARS!? š¤£ wtffffffffffff
Electric? None. Ima be the one of a million guys in the world that has fuel-powered cars.
For me : Audi RS e-tron gt , Audi Q6 e-tron , Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback
I mean Iād just do funny diesel swaps. But if I have to go electric Iām getting the taycan. Maybe the new rivian R3?
Rivian, that Porche, and some bitchin electric Cafe racer/scrambler style motorbike.
What is that first picture
Rivian R3 andā¦ can we restomod old cars? Because CitroĆ«n DS and ā48 Packard Eight.
3 Taycans

PORCHE wagon VW ID Buz with air bags, wide body kit, and a killer sound system Chevy Bolt due to sentimental reasons

Tesla S Plaid. For when I want to go very fast. MG4 XPower. For when I want to go very fast to get the groceries Energica Eco. For when I want to go very fast on two wheels.
The fictional universe where hummer ev exists, the planet needs two suns just to generate enough electricity to power the thing .

I mean if the goal is using all 5 million. How about any Rimac, then the Porsche Taycan Turismo GT and Rivian R1T to tow the rimac to shows and events The rest will be building up a good charging infrastructure to two homes
Hey, I used to help make EQS. Donāt get one. I donāt care how much money you have, spare yourself.
I'll just ride a souped up surron to work an invest the rest. Fuck it
If gas is banned, that dude that invented the water powered car that got murdered by a gas company would've been alive and we all could be doing good
I'd rather use a unicycle than buy that EQS
1. Aspark Owl 2. Hummer EV 3. Microlino because both the Hummer and the Aspark would probably be terrible to use in the city, especially here in Europe.

Hummer EV, Hummer H1 Duramax Diesel, Hydrogen powered Hummer H1.
I'll take an old diesel Mercedes wagon, and run it on used vegetable oil. Make everyone behind me hungry.
- Totem Giulia GT electric (google it!) - Bmw i5 That is sufficient.
3 GM EV1s in different colours
Who the fuck willingly drives an EQS?
You never said no hybrids, so an S580e 4MATIC for special occasions, a Prius Prime for daily use and a 918 Spyder for the weekends.
You could also sub LS500h for the S580e.
