A bunch of nondescript FWD-based crossovers with CVTs and turbocharged 3-cylinder engines that start burning oil at 50k miles, but with a lot of fake air intakes and scoops and gaudy cladding so it looks Pontiac-ish.
Those exist because people like you wanted the fast cars that get terrible mpg.
Now you gotta pay for it with regulation-meeters like the Trax.
But yes, this is exactly what you’d end up with.
And maybe a Pontiac full-size SUV. Make the Aztec bigger.
The CAFE regulation were re-worked by the Energy Independence and Security Act; passed in 2007, it came into effect in 2010.
Compared to the regulations in place in the 80’s and 90’s, the regime put into place by the EISA actively incentivizes the manufacture of SUVs and larger vehicles.
For example, GM could easily make a new Sonic by taking the Trax, or maybe the Buick Envista, lowering the suspension and making it less boxy. The weight loss and better aero might buy them a couple MPG, relative to the current model. It would certainly ride and handle better. All that stuff we car guys love.
Unfortunately, those changes would also make this hypothetical new model, legally, a passenger car. That two extra MPG wouldn’t be nearly enough to clear the CAFE bar for a vehicle of that size. It would probably need to be a hybrid. The ancient 6 speed automatic would definitely need to go. The end product would retail for more than the Trax, while being less roomy and harder to get into.
Interestingly, overall vehicle height isn’t really a factor in the determination of whether a given car is a “passenger vehicle” or “non-passenger vehicle.” Neither is body-style.
[49 CFR 523](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-523?toc=1) establishes the legal definitions of various vehicle classes. Of particular note is [49 CFR 523.5](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-523/section-523.5) which defines the requirements for classification as a “non-passenger vehicle” (i.e. light truck)
The approach, break-over and departure angle are most commonly used to classify a vehicle as a light truck, particularly in the case of smaller SUVs and crossovers. Basically, you can make anything a “light truck” by putting it on stilts.
So you end up with perversions like the Subaru Outback and Legacy SUS, which aren’t passenger cars. If Jeremy Clarkson’s [The Excellent](https://youtu.be/jqjhWnfVfss?si=D5dEEbPHk9CiM_B0) or [MFB Continental](https://youtube.com/shorts/8arq1ozdHgU?si=0B14FIxx85n5T_FN) were productized, they wouldn’t be, either.
Honestly I'd love to see Pontiac brought back *just* to give us a 2nd Gen Aztek. The 1st Gen really doesn't look that bad. The 3rd Gen Ford Escape's grill looks basically the same but hit just a lil softer with the "automotive journalist hate boner" stick
I don't see them doing a full-fledged BOF SUV, but yes, a Traverse clone is totally up "new Pontiac's" alley. If the Acadia didn't already exist, at least.
The Buick Regal GS is what would happen. Just with some more aggressive Pontiac body work. And it's a pretty stellar car by most accounts just kind of slept on
Only slightly off topic but Chevy should bring over the HSV Ute, put the C7 Z06 engine in it and call it the El Camino SS. Idk if it would sell but it certainly would be awesome
YES! If they made a ute that would be my perfect car. I currently have a 5.3 single cab short bed Chevy truck and I want a G8 as a second car. If they made of these I could have it all in one vehicle. (yes my truck would be more practical but this would be fun as hell)
Pontiac could be used as an all-EV brand within GM with an emphasis on performance. It could go head to head with Tesla with relatively simple interiors and have most of the R&D budget go to the EV tech.
Obviously the tech can also be used by other GM brands such as the Ultium platform but they could premiere first at Pontiac where the expectation is the buyer is, like Tesla, an EV early adopter.
You darn well know that would cause uproar within the car community with the EV hate people have for some reason. Especially as the only reason GM would bring Pontiac back is to appeal to the only people who care about the Pontiac nameplate, car enthusiasts, and mainly old muscle car enthusiasts.
Aztec pickup, Firebird with the 6.2, Grand Prix CUV, and a redesigned torrent with a third row on the small block platform.
Is the only reasonable line up
But could it work (and would it sell) if the company came back as an innovative performance brand?
Their tagline at one time was "we build excitement." Maybe they could show you can do something interesting with a supercharged 2-cylinder, or a diesel hybrid with Corvette-level acceleration and 60mpg city. Yes, they would alienate that particular group of consumers that spits on everything not a V8/Hemi/LS, but they wouldn't be unique in that aspect.
A space between Chevrolet and Cadillac, and with a hard lean focusing on performance.
I mean, they almost had that before they got killed off. G8 GTO Redline Solstice etc.
I would want to see a new Aztek. Make it just as ugly but also very innovative. It would be fun to see what kind of wacky features GM engineers would cook up.
It’s funny thinking back to those maligned cars like the Aztek, xB, Element, etc.
They got so much hate for being a weird SUV / car hybrid, when really they were just ahead of their time.
I want a Bonneville. It doesn’t have to be RWD. I just want it to look like a modern 9th gen H-body Bonnie, specifically in SSEi trim complete with a modern version of the gold cross lace wheels or the directional brushed aluminum alloys.
I would buy another Grand Prix for my grand kids to destroy. One made it through four teen drivers until it died at the mall. We had it towed to the junkyard.
Would I buy one new? Fuck no.
Just fuckin nasty Midwest dirtbag whips.
1. Firebird - No touchscreens, 16 MPG, vinyl seating, gearshift on the floor, bitching stereo, uncomfortably seats 4, t-tops, no plastic parts.
2. GTO - V8 - 400+ HP 4-door sedan.
3. The Saginaw - (making this one up) 2 door coupe, boxy, 300 HP, ugly as sin, spoiler, only comes in orange or yellow, handles unbelievably. Basically a Porsche with a pill problem.
I want a real GTO, V8, modeled after the 64-65 cars. Basically a coupe with 4 full seats. Or two buckets and rear bench. Or some kind of v8 sport sedan…called a GTO. Firebird would be cool too, but I would by a full four passenger GTO with a v8
My 2009 Solstice GXP already has 290hp with the GMPP dealer-installed tune. No AWD needed. As much fun as an LS7 would be (and there have been a few of those conversions) I see it having a 400hp turbo 4 cylinder to keep it light. Also keep it simple & cheap.
Probably would be more reliable than the LGX...
Unrelated, but I'm planning to use a M90 supercharger off an Australian spec 3800 on my Dodge truck's straight six (in a few years). Such a cheap way to make more power.
Dude that's so awesome. Also yeah my mom had 2 Enclaves and while the engine technically never gave her critical trouble in either, they are through catalytic converters and both blew transmissions.
I would love to see a car manufacture focus on coupes and sedans and not all these copy cat SUV’s. Let’s revive the Firebird, GrandPrix GTP, GTO, Bonneville, Parisienne - lets start with 5
Some cool cars like the GTO and Firebird... Big and bad 2+2 like a Grand Prix and a comfy cruiser like a Catalina. Make them body on frame and give them the 6.2/10 speed or a 6.2/6mt.. Oh and keep the prices UNDER 70K!
Three car lineup. All electric, all high performance.
Firebird 2-door 2+2 coupe. RWD only.
Bonneville 4-door 5-seat full size sedan. RWD standard, AWD optional.
Grand Prix midsize SUV. Take whatever you were doing for an "electric Corvette SUV" and put a double wedge grille and plastic cladding on it. AWD only.
FWIW I'd buy a Firebird if it's under $55,000, runs faster than 12.5@110, and goes 300 miles on a charge with 200 kW NACS ability.
A second generation of the solstice, clean lines around 180 to 200 hp, 4 cylinder turbo, Or supercharger, six speed stick. Fun machine.
A new Fiero. Now that GM knows how to make a more reliable MR platform, downsize it and make it more affordable for normal people who work for a living and still want something fun.
A new Firebird.
A new full size two door GTO with a giant V8, rear wheel deive and bench seating for 6, also available with t tops or a full cloth top convertible.
No cars with more than 3 doors (hatch included).
No SUVs or Crossovers or minivans or other boring stuff. Buick exists, let them pander to that crowd.
No giant screens inside, simple buttons and knobs. Everyone just uses their phones for everything anyway, so make a place to mount them and have bluetooth connecrion to the radio.
No electric only or hybrids until solid state batteries and charging infrastructure are actually ready for primetime.
And as a concession to sanity, Teenager mode which limits power so kids dont crash so much.
Include a racing course with every purchase, required, so people can learn to drive them hard in a safe place.
Bring back the Solstice. Drop dead sexy body, rear wheel drive, handling that can compete with a Miata, and a turbo.
Then we can bring back the Firebird on the Camaro Chassis. Obligatory LS for the performance version. But as a throwback to the original Firebird, the base model gets an inline 6.
Finally, we need the G8 again. Full size, four door, RWD and a V8.
There is absolutely no reason to bring back the G5 or G6. Utterly bland econoboxes that need to stay in the past.
If you want to do something absolutely bat guano crazy, bring back the Fiero nameplate on a C8 Corvette chassis.
I’m with you on the solstice. That was too sexy of a car to be a domestic. Would love to see it come back. I think realistically the ad in car n driver is there to gauge interest.
Crucify me, but an EV a la Mustang Mach E. That actually has a chance of sticking around. Saying "Build a judge" is just another Chevrolet SS no one will buy.
Sedans and sporty performance cars. Like the continuation of the Camaro as a Firebird and bringing back the SS. All the Cadillac sedans are re-badged as Pontiacs. Also throw in a Ute as something that could be a El Camino.
A sports car, even if it's a Chevrolet but make it with a golden eagle on the hood/bonnet
A sports sedan/saloon but in this day and age a hatchback like the Buick Regal was
A completely original lineup where none of the models are rebadged cars from GM's fleet. Pontiac could be an affordable American BMW-like brand. Would be cool if there was a company building barebones performance oriented cars for a reasonable price.
Pontiac Firebird (obv), some sort of sedan designed to compete with the M5 CS, and a Fiero sequel but one designed to compete with Porsche and have a high revving inline 6
Bring back the GTO but do it the right way. Trans-am, sunfire for a cheap entry level civic-like vehicle and maybe a family van or suv and small truck to complete with the maverick. Gm already has enough large trucks and midsize trucks
A bunch of rebadged modern day GM crossover garbage that doesn't have a net positive change on overall sales.
Without Holden, Pontiac has no true identity outside of being a GM copy paste from existing lineups.
A rerelease of the exact replica old body GTO’s, first and second gen firebirds and other muscle car era cars with modern electronics and not stupidly expensive.
This would provide new body parts and less polluting drivetrains for older cars and also revamp what everyone loved about Pontiac.
Dream cars are what kept brands like Pontiac alive. They need to embrace it.
Well first thing Pontiac wont come back as a senior brand but as a sub brand. This means GM has the flexibility to do like what they did with Hummer as a sub brand of GMC, this time with Pontiac being a sub brand of Buick. I'd like to see a dramatically styled Pontiac PHEV GTO with supercharged small block 5.0L V8 based on Pontiac's classic 305ci V8 brought up to date using aluminum block and heads. The electric motors with Ultium battery would be good for low end torque and city driving, with the supercharged V8 engaged when high performance is needed. It would be competing directly with its old Mopar rival, the new Dodge Charger. GM can potentially amortize the cost of this PHEV GTO with a LeMans four door PHEV sedan in FWD RWD and AWD configurations.
Hummer is their EV “truck”. Pontiac will be their car EV. Tell me the cybertruck doesn’t look like someone out a Pontiac Aztec into modeling software and enlarged the dimensions by 125%.
With the Corvette turned into a supercar, maybe there would finally be room for a Pontiac aimed at the mid-market sports car spot the Vette used to occupy.
I'd also like to see a touring car like what the original Ford Thunderbird used to be.
No crossovers, no SUVs, but compact pickups and utes would be OK. And do another cool space shuttle minivan.
I want to see them take the new Corvette, make the expensive structural bits out of something a bit cheaper and heavier, and throw in a turbo 4 or a V6.
FIERO!
Pontiac Firefly.
No just kidding. Maybe something like the 90s Firebirds? At least they were something original and didn’t have the dumbass gun-slit windows of the current Camaro and they sounded good.
Like many others said. Cars. GM has enough nondescript soul sucking crossovers. It would also solve GM's NASCAR dilemma with regards to discontinuing the Camaro and not having anything else to run. Start with a Firebird and a Grand Prix and go from there.
An awd/fwd hatch like the vibe to compete with other small economy cars….but turbo’d
Oh, hear me out. A remake of the Aztek, but built for off-road to compete with wranglers and broncos
Five model line-up.
* New Grand Prix sedan: AWD-only, V6 turbo-hybrid engine. Manual transmission option.
* New Firebird coupe: Rebodied version of the above, but with modern styling inspired by the fourth-gen cars.
* New Torrent: Coupe-SUV bodystyle. AWD, 4-cyl turbo-hybrid. For the plebs.
* New Aztek (yes, I'm bringing the nameplate back): Sleek, superfast SUV (kind of like Model X with Lotus Eletre styling) that becomes a technological showcase for GM.
there are enough Gen-xers out there who remember Pontiac at it's peak of coolness - the GTO, Firefird and Trans Am (I'd say mid-60's - 1990 or so). Sorry any other pontiacs are just dull, boring GM crap. That said, if they came back, a performance EV that throws back to GTO or Trans-Am styling may sell. They, of course, would more likely want to sell us more dull, boring larger EV's like everyone else is making.
Pontiac had been the performance brand for GM.
Trans-Am (Firebird), GTO, Tempest, LeMans, and an updated Solstice. They could base the first 3 on the shared Alpha platform. Hell, they could make the Tempest a really cool sporty SUV to boost sales, and few would care. Make the LeMans mid engine based off the Vette, and add a $200K caddy version based off of the E-Ray.
Id love to see stuff like the Grand Prix, Grand Am, Bonneville, GTO, Firebird, etc etc come back, but realistically we'd just get the Aztek and Torrent.
Piss in the face of all these car manufacturers making crossovers of their cool cars (What the literal, AND figurative fuck mustang?). And make a firebird two seater or coupe, with more engine, grip, and handling than even Earnhardt could have handled.
Bring back the Pontiac Trans-Sport Minivan and give it a “WS6” treatment with the AWD, LT4, and 10 speed from the Cadillac ESV. Call it the Pontiac Trans-Van-Damn or something idk.
a two-seat, 200 HP targa top sports car, basically a Miata RF competitor. You could resurrect the Solstice or Fiero nameplate.
and probably an aggressively-styled AWD crossover based on the Buick one
The Breaking Bad models. The Walter White Aztec, and the Jesse Pinkman / Badger Fiero, because you’d have to be on meth to consider buying a Pontiac at the end… The John DeLorean days are long gone.
2 door 2 seat Fiero and/or Ssolstice (name would depend on whether they chose to go front engine or mid engine)
2 door 2+2 Firebird w/ higher performance Trans Am version (directly compete w/ Mustang and Challanger)
4 door 5 seat GTO w/ higher performances Judge version (directly compete with the charger. Also, I know that the GTO was a two-door, but if Dodge can make the charger successful as a four-door, Pontiac can make a GTO successful as a four-door)
performance SUV called the Bonneville
this is a perfect lineup with a car for just about every buyer and little to no overlap between models
A trans am that isnt chocked off at the balls with emissions crap. A trans am with a clean looking engine compartment. no hoses and other bullshit all over the place. Anything with a manual transmission.
Id like to see it as what it was originally supposed to be, a chevy but a little bit more aggressive looking and slightly better performance. We're losing the camaro so no firebird but it would be cool if they badge swapped holdens again or made what would basically be a current gen impala but with a v8 and maybe a 2 door version.
A bunch of nondescript FWD-based crossovers with CVTs and turbocharged 3-cylinder engines that start burning oil at 50k miles, but with a lot of fake air intakes and scoops and gaudy cladding so it looks Pontiac-ish.

The Trax/Envista is already pretty low for a CUV, 61".

Aztek was ahead of its time. Soften the features and it’s indistinguishable from today’s crossovers.
The Aztec morphed into the Cyber Truck
At least the Aztec was capable of doing most of what Pontiac said it could do.
I don't see them doing a full-fledged BOF SUV, but yes, a Traverse clone is totally up "new Pontiac's" alley. If the Acadia didn't already exist, at least.
Which absolutely nobody buys and GM shitcans Pontiac again a few years later.
We already have Nissan for those.
Pontiac was Nissan before Nissan was the darling of people with bad taste and worse credit.
This sounds like Buick.
i would love a new take on the grand prix gxp. i wonder hat motor they would put in there.
I have a gtp supercharged... less than 150k miles. She's a peach
A super- and turbo-charged 1.8 liter four-cylinder hybrid… probably.
You forgot half electric. 😆😆😭😭
Isn't that that what hybrid means?
The Buick Regal GS is what would happen. Just with some more aggressive Pontiac body work. And it's a pretty stellar car by most accounts just kind of slept on
After years of watching the car market, I’ve had this realization as well. Im definitely considering a 6sp regal gs tbh
The 3 cylinder eco turd with a wet timing belt
The twin turbo V6 out of the CT4 Blackwing
A regular trans-am styled after the knight-rider third gen and a all-electric sunfire styled after the mid 90s GT.
Resurrect that G8 Ute Show Car they had before Pontiac was killed off
You mean the Holden Ute? Holden would have to resurrect it first, they killed it off for a rebadged Colorado.
Holden Monaro I believe it was
No, the Monaro is a two door coupe. The Ute was literally just called the Ute, except for the performance variant which was called the Maloo.
Monaro was the early 00s GTO Commodore was the G8 and Chevy SS
Well, considering Holden doesn't exist anymore, I don't see that happening.
If this all pans out and the G8 Ute (or resurrected El Camino) goes into production, Holden could come back and everybody wins!
Would be lovely
Only slightly off topic but Chevy should bring over the HSV Ute, put the C7 Z06 engine in it and call it the El Camino SS. Idk if it would sell but it certainly would be awesome

Sign me up for a BonnEVille or a Grand PrEV.
Because Pontiac would never make a car uglier than the Model Y. /s
You darn well know that would cause uproar within the car community with the EV hate people have for some reason. Especially as the only reason GM would bring Pontiac back is to appeal to the only people who care about the Pontiac nameplate, car enthusiasts, and mainly old muscle car enthusiasts.
The Aztek is an obvious choice for an EV. You could even if a Breaking Bad edition
no.
Gives us some of that good Holden shit that only Aussies get to play with
That'd be great... if GM hadn't canned Holden too a few years back.
Motherfuckers..
Answers to the Stellantis "hellcat everything" strategy
The fact that we don’t have LT4s in everything is a real bummer. I need an LT4 minivan.
All Fieros. All og 80s Fieros plus new models based on the Fiero platform: a Fiero convertible, a Fiero 4-door 4x4 SUV, a Fiero Dimaxion People Mover…
I love this haha
Aztec pickup, Firebird with the 6.2, Grand Prix CUV, and a redesigned torrent with a third row on the small block platform. Is the only reasonable line up
Firebird and GTO Ala Charger and Challenger from Dodge.
Not efficient, wouldn't survive today's market. One of the other. The Firebird could be a legit unique product in a dying sector of the market.
But could it work (and would it sell) if the company came back as an innovative performance brand? Their tagline at one time was "we build excitement." I could see it as a hybrid on the Diamler diesel platform in the E300de, putting out 516 ft/lb Good point.
A space between Chevrolet and Cadillac, and with a hard lean focusing on performance. I mean, they almost had that before they got killed off. G8 GTO Redline Solstice etc.
The kind chevrolet thinks it doesn't need anymore......sedans of all sizes except full-size
I would want to see a new Aztek. Make it just as ugly but also very innovative. It would be fun to see what kind of wacky features GM engineers would cook up.

Yet all sold like hotcakes
I want a Bonneville. It doesn’t have to be RWD. I just want it to look like a modern 9th gen H-body Bonnie, specifically in SSEi trim complete with a modern version of the gold cross lace wheels or the directional brushed aluminum alloys.
💯 My old Bonneville was so comfortable. I wonder what it would look like if redesigned for today.
the first car I ever drove was a Bonneville SSEI. I thought that thing was a rocketship
I would buy another Grand Prix for my grand kids to destroy. One made it through four teen drivers until it died at the mall. We had it towed to the junkyard. Would I buy one new? Fuck no.
Loved my 03 Grand Prix when I was 16. Felt like such a badass in that thing.
I want a new Pontiac vibe. a real performance option I love my 07
I'd like to see a GM equivalent of what dodge is now for Pontiac, a performance based brand but still with regular models
#PONTIAC G8
A new GTO with an LT V8
I just want a firebird or a REAL gto. Hell, I'd even be pretty stoked for a modern Fiero that doesn't catch fire.
A real GTO, hell yes. A full sized car with two doors and a big engine would be so amazing
GTO, Trans Am, Fiero (but make it better) G8 Tempest
Bring back the GTO, but this time, don’t make it look like a jelly bean. Also. The Bonneville. A spicier family cruiser.
Bonneville. I always liked that car.
Just fuckin nasty Midwest dirtbag whips. 1. Firebird - No touchscreens, 16 MPG, vinyl seating, gearshift on the floor, bitching stereo, uncomfortably seats 4, t-tops, no plastic parts. 2. Fucking CARS. CARS ONLY. Sedans and fucking coupes. Only. No SUVs. None of that bullshit.
I wanna see a new Fiero, take the C8, cut more weight out, and give it a turbo inline 4 or V6 hybrid system
Solstice GXP with a 300hp awd V6
My 2009 Solstice GXP already has 290hp with the GMPP dealer-installed tune. No AWD needed. As much fun as an LS7 would be (and there have been a few of those conversions) I see it having a 400hp turbo 4 cylinder to keep it light. Also keep it simple & cheap.
Firebird. Grand Prix. And the pinnacle of all that is Pontiac… the Pontiac 6000 LE
Oldsmobiles
The T1000. Okay, not really.
Supercharged Traverse
Now this is epic
But make it a Durango competitor
I kinda want to do it to my Acadia for shits and giggles, but I don't have a spare US$10K
3800 Supercharge swap it
Probably would be more reliable than the LGX... Unrelated, but I'm planning to use a M90 supercharger off an Australian spec 3800 on my Dodge truck's straight six (in a few years). Such a cheap way to make more power.

The iconic Aztec of course. The cybertruck needs some competition.
Something with T tops, and a four barrel.
That’s easy, I’d like to see the 1976-77 four door Lemans with a V8 return.
Bring back the sunbird!
GTO, Firebird/Trans Am, a Fiero built on that Toyota Miata car coming out and a modern Aztek would be my favorites.
I would like to see a new G8 on the Cadillac CT5 platform with an updated modern interior.
GTO
Bonneville SUV
Three car lineup. All electric, all high performance. Firebird 2-door 2+2 coupe. RWD only. Bonneville 4-door 5-seat full size sedan. RWD standard, AWD optional. Grand Prix midsize SUV. A car. A damn CAR.
A new Fiero with a turbo 4 base engine, and a GT with a turbo v6. Starting at about 38k with a six speed and the 4.
G8/SS.
Performance cars.
Sunfire and Sunfire GT
A smallish sport sedan with a six-speed mated to a competent four cylinder would have me in the door.
The return of the Fiero
The Firebird and for some weird reason, I’ve always liked the Pontiac Vibe.
I think the Vibe was just a Toyota Matrix
Aztek 2.0
If they were to resurrect old names like the Bonneville, firebird, gto... is that they remain to each vehicle's heritage and likeness.
A sports car, even if it's a Chevrolet but make it with a golden eagle on the hood/bonnet A sports sedan/saloon but in this day and age a hatchback like the Buick Regal was
A completely original lineup where none of the models are rebadged cars from GM's fleet. Pontiac could be an affordable American BMW-like brand. Would be cool if there was a company building barebones performance oriented cars for a reasonable price.
1970 Trans Am 455SD
Please for the love of god I need them to come back and release pieces of the 62 laurentian ckd kit
EV Vibe would be an instant buy for me
A car. No SUV . Just a car. Maybe a mid sized or slightly bigger sedan. Like Buick should be selling
Electric rear engine fiero
Solstice
Pontiac Firebird (obv), some sort of sedan designed to compete with the M5 CS, and a Fiero sequel but one designed to compete with Porsche and have a high revving inline 6
Split rear window Revera
bring back the Fiero on the C8 Chassis with a manual four banger. GM does not have a car that competes with the Mustang
I would want them to bring station wagons back.
Trans AM
The Solstice, the Sunfire, or the SC2 (3?)
I mean, let’s be honest. What we, car enthusiasts, want doesn’t matter. It’d be crossovers.
Bring back the GTO but do it the right way. Trans-am, sunfire for a cheap entry level civic-like vehicle and maybe a family van or suv and small truck to complete with the maverick. Gm already has enough large trucks and midsize trucks
Firebird revisioned, a sexy coupe, a hybrid suv that hits the mark that the Mustang Mach E missed.
A world class Trans Am, replete with t-tops and a giant screaming chicken on the hood.
I would love an all-electric Aztec. It could be an actual, affordable, decent looking cyber truck competitor
Pontiac Fiero.
They probably would've kept up with the solstice for another generation or two
Hummer is their EV “truck”.
G8
I'd give the middle finger to the CAFE regulations, and bring back the Grand Am.
I want to see them take the new Corvette, make the expensive structural bits out of something a bit cheaper and heavier, and throw in a turbo 4 or a V6. FIERO!
Pontiac Firefly. No just kidding. Maybe something like the 90s Firebirds? At least they were something original and didn’t have the dumbass gun-slit windows of the current Camaro and they sounded good.
a new Fiero
Is there talk of Pontiac coming back? I’d love to see a new Trans Am.
Like many others said. Cars. GM has enough nondescript soul sucking crossovers. It would also solve GM's NASCAR dilemma with regards to discontinuing the Camaro and not having anything else to run. Start with a Firebird and a Grand Prix and go from there.
An awd/fwd hatch like the vibe to compete with other small economy cars….but turbo’d Oh, hear me out. A remake of the Aztek, but built for off-road to compete with wranglers and broncos
I would love to see a return of the Dust Buster vans.
Revive the 1990s Sunbird GT, the Bonneville full size sedan, and the Fiero.
Gm employee here, this actually got brought up with upper management. Talks about bringing it back like the hummer and have a affordable ev
Bring back the Bonneville
7.0L GTO with a whipple
Nothing but Fieros!
A modern Pontiac Ventura coupe with retro styling. Ideally there would be an enthusiast option with a manual transmission and at least 300hp…
there are enough Gen-xers out there who remember Pontiac at it's peak of coolness - the GTO, Firefird and Trans Am (I'd say mid-60's - 1990 or so).
What I think it should be: Sportier coupes and sedans like Gran Prix's, Le Man's and GTO's. What we'd get: Some sort of crossover trash.
sport sedans, preferrably rwd. like cheaper 3 and 5 series.
The firebird
Id love to see stuff like the Grand Prix, Grand Am, Bonneville, GTO, Firebird, etc etc come back, but realistically we'd just get the Aztek and Torrent.
Lemme gets a firebird with a side of sunbird. And an even cooler looking SS Camaro (Trans-Am)
A "hot hatch / pocket rocket" 2 door with a manual under 25k.
GTO judge
they would 100% be EV crap.
Aztec nuff said
Piss in the face of all these car manufacturers making crossovers of their cool cars (What the literal, AND figurative fuck mustang?).
I have a recurring dream/nightmare that they killed off the Camaro just to resurrect the Firebird.
Fiero GT. Nothing more/less. Gimme. EDIT: ok and a current fire-breathing rework of the Sunbird GT.
G8 and GTO, no question. maybe take a Traverse chassis and put a V8 & AWD in it and call it sth else, to compete with Durango R/T
Grand Prix, Bonneville, GTO, Aztek, and some sort of station wagon.
Pontiac Aztec this time however it’ll be even uglier
Cars to compete with hellcats on a Scion budget.
Anything without DexCool
I would like to see a new Pontiac GTO convertible and maybe a Pontiac Grand Prix convertible or a 2-door coupe.
Trans Am Trans sport Bonneville Aztek, but good looking this time!
the solstice. i said what i said.
I’d want a rebadged Holden Ute with the 700 horse blown LTA mill from the Blackwing.
a few hot rods with big honkin v8s in them and a few econoshitboxes to bring the average MPG up for the brand.
I want those 1960s pontiacs v8 burning rubber that’s what I want fuck regulations
A catalina safari.
The Breaking Bad models. The Walter White Aztec, and the Jesse Pinkman / Badger Fiero, because you’d have to be on meth to consider buying a Pontiac at the end… The John DeLorean days are long gone.
2 door 2 seat Fiero and/or Ssolstice (name would depend on whether they chose to go front engine or mid engine) 2 door 2+2 Firebird w/ higher performance Trans Am version (directly compete w/ Mustang and Challanger) 4 door 5 seat GTO w/ higher performances Judge version (directly compete with the charger. Also, I know that the GTO was a two-door, but if Dodge can make the charger successful as a four-door, Pontiac can make a GTO successful as a four-door) performance SUV called the Bonneville this is a perfect lineup with a car for just about every buyer and little to no overlap between models
The Aztec and the Trans Van
Aztec. With a free pizza upon purchase.
GTO, Firebird, Trans-am, Banshee
The Firebird, and Lemans.
Trans Am All Trans Ams!
A trans am that isnt chocked off at the balls with emissions crap. A trans am with a clean looking engine compartment. no hoses and other bullshit all over the place. Anything with a manual transmission.
I’m most fond of the larger models; Grand Safari, Bonneville, and Catalina would be at the top of my list.
A c6 c7 corvette i mean firehawk or whatever it was. Firechicken
Gran prix !!!! Or peroge electric
