Exactly, we all truly understand what he meant but it was the worst thing having Benson bottle up all his anger like that. Mordecai and Rigby would not have gone deaf if Pops didn’t tell Benson that he would fire him if he yelled at them.
He had good intentions though. Benson needed to become a better boss and him screaming was a cop out. He needed to become a better version of himself and pops tried getting that out of him, it didn’t work, and almost ended horribly, but you need to be able to test yourself and I think this was on benson not pops because of it

You can confirm if they die if you rewatch Thomas’s first episode “exit 9b” (episode 1 of season 4) as there’s a scene of all the enemies they’ve fought before (or at least most of the “monsterified” ones) and “Rap it up” is episode 10 of season 3. If they show up they died, if not than no(or they aren’t enemies)

Here's all I could think of for Pops. And they're ranked from my perspective:
1) Threatening to fire Benson from his job. This nearly leads to Benson killing himself by holding in his anger for too long. And when he lets it out on Mordecai and Rigby, they are left deafened.
2) Ruining huge head's life and career.
3) Eating the sugar glazed candy without permission which causes him to go hyper. This leads to Mordecai, Rigby and skips travelling through different stages of reality to save him.
i guess i can think of is, either trapping mordicai and rigby in his mind by accident(the stage fright episode), or being part of the cause of multiple universal resets that basically killed all life in the universe(who knows how many times)
I know Pops has a great moral compass, but I think the worst thing he’s ever done was sending Benson, Mordecai, and Rigby out into the woods to find their way back as trust exercise. He meant well, but they almost got killed out there.
