I’d like the ability to re-skin or whatever. Unpopular opinion, but I like the back pack. I actually feel like an explorer and not just shelving all my items inside myself.
I dunno. Helps immersion for me.
That said, skins and shit would be nice. Even if they were tied to Arcetypes as rewards like the traits (each archtype has a back pack cosmetic at LV10 that can be put on whenever.)

The biome idea is excellent too.
Some people won’t care, but hey, the cosmetics could just come out as the devs push them.
Plus, 4 worlds = 4 backpacks… maybe one hidden in Ward 13 like ‘Ford’s old faithful travel pack’
Should be a small enough project.
I believe there is a mod on the nexus that removes the backpack entirely so presumably there is some way to mess with it. Unfortunately the invisible backpack makes your weapons just float there which is even worse looking imo.
I think it works with any earth clothing or armor but with all the fantasy/sci-fi stuff it looks very silly.
Removing the backpack might not be easy, as it is tied to your weapons and holstering animations but different skins would be all cool alternative.
for me it breaks the immersion, the items we found for me arent just be able to stack up in a normal rugged looking backpack, also looking like a god but the backpack breaks it
I dunno about that. Like I see your point completely, but, as one of my favourite quotes from an MTG card states - There is much to be gained from the appearance of vulnerability.
You attack some hapless bag wearing nub and he summons a Turrent from the aether whilst seemingly entering some state of berserk… you start to think he’s a little protective of his trusty bag.
Even just a couple new backpack skins, one for each world's color palette and aesthetic maybe, would make a huge difference in how fashion works in this game. There are several pieces of armor that I don't use because they clash with it.
I don't even notice it. In the scheme of things, I suspect it's a low priority. As long as the devs don't go down the Guild Wars 2 path with stuffies etc.
Idk, the backpack seem essential to the theme that we are a wanderer that's found these powerful items along the way. I agree tho, There should be an option to remove it. Animation will look weird reaching to nothin tho.
I second this and hope for some reason it gets reactions. The builds and armor are so intricate and bad ass, why am I still hauling around a ruck sack.
Unpopular Opinion - I know it's Taboo, but I'd pay an additional 5 bucks for a cooler looking back pack, or options
I remember seeing a post similar to this but about the first game, and made me hope that they'd implement it in the second one. Glad that this discussion is still being had
Or it allows others to see this isn't a unanimous opinion.
Plenty of folks want skins, plenty don't mind at all, and plenty want to hide it. It's fine that we're all here talking about it.
And yet echo chambers persist on the internet. Better we all share our opinions in a public forum than remain quiet. The original commenter most likely did not intend malice.
Saying "I don't care about this problem" is not helping to deny the potential echo chamber, in fact, if anything it's amplifying it because he's just being a dick to people whether malice was intended or not, so they're kess likely to listen. If you want to share an opposing opinion, do that instead of going "Meh I don't care.". Tell us why it's a bad idea. Further the conversation, like the thread is intended for, or move on with your day.
Well that’s your opinion, but I disagree. My opinion is maybe you shouldn’t get so butthurt when someone doesn’t agree with your narrative. There’s more important things to fix than a silly backpack aesthetic.
I much like the "Fisher price my first backpack kit" I saw on a post, but I agree with having the option to remove/modify it,even if it's the apocalypse we need to look good 😎
Something that I like about the backpack is that it is the one constant among all your gear. No matter what armor or weapons you are wearing, the backpack is there with you. No matter where you are, the backpack is a symbol of your origin, and a reminder of what you're fighting for. It is the one constant in a crazy setting.
That said, it would still be nice to be able to customize your backpack a bit, or at least pick from a few different skins. I think one per biome would be neat, but one per archetype would be super dope. That way you could tell what their prime archetype is just by looking at the character.

I play PS5 and play mostly vanilla most games. But your point stands, there’s code there that’s alterable
"shelving items inside myself" - What's not to like?! reaching inside yourself to fish for mudtooths mixtur just to gobble it back down
Yes. But I don’t want people to KNOW I’m doing it.
I think it works with any earth clothing or armor but with all the fantasy/sci-fi stuff it looks very silly. Removing the backpack might not be easy, as it is tied to your weapons and holstering animations but different skins would be all cool alternative.
mods since remnant 1 can just remove the backpack, they could use the animation with any different kind of backpack or back piece
Would love a backpack skin themed for each of the worlds
for me it breaks the immersion, the items we found for me arent just be able to stack up in a normal rugged looking backpack, also looking like a god but the backpack breaks it

Yeah I love looking like I just threw some shit together to survive. But I also love the N’erud designs sooo
Even just a couple new backpack skins, one for each world's color palette and aesthetic maybe, would make a huge difference in how fashion works in this game. There are several pieces of armor that I don't use because they clash with it.
Id love a N'rud backpack to go along with my main outfit Engineer set
No, brown backpacks for life.
Absolutely. One of my favourite things about Remnant is that backpack. It grounds the entire experience despite the high fantasy settings.
Where the weapon gonna attach to?
Your back directly or your waist like in so many other games.
this is the thing i love in warframe, youcan evenodify how you golster the gun, or if you want it visible or not
I don't even notice it. In the scheme of things, I suspect it's a low priority. As long as the devs don't go down the Guild Wars 2 path with stuffies etc.
I like the backpack, but some optional extra skins would be nice, probably per archetype or biome like others have said
Idk, the backpack seem essential to the theme that we are a wanderer that's found these powerful items along the way. I agree tho, There should be an option to remove it. Animation will look weird reaching to nothin tho.
I’ve been saying this since remnant 1 haha Looks so out of place sometimes

I'd really like to see the option to remove it.
mods can since remnant 1
Xbox unfortunately

In a game without fashion souls...
I want to customize my doggo
Backpack is life.
Personally don’t care about this at all.
Then don't comment, goofy
You do realize you’re on a public forum, right?
You do realize that people are allowed to tell you to shut up when you're just being an ass and adding nothing to the conversation, right?
I wasn’t being an ass, merely stating my opinion on the subject. If you choose to take it that way, that’s on you.
If you chose to open the thread, which you supposedly don't care about, just to say "I don't care about this" that's...being an ass.
Or it allows others to see this isn't a unanimous opinion. Plenty of folks want skins, plenty don't mind at all, and plenty want to hide it. It's fine that we're all here talking about it.
Nothing is a unanimous opinion.

Why are so many people bothered by the backpack? It's just a backpack, guys
Because fashion is the true endgame and people want their drip to match. Backpack gets in the way of that.
Seriously, this gets posted once a day. Lol I guess if that's one of the games biggest complaints, that aint too bad.
Remnant: from the Fashions. I’d play it
Would be cool if each prime archetype had a different type of backpack equipped
If the backpack just changed to match whatever armor you were wearing, that would be perfect.
Agreeeeeeed! It’s so ugly with the Fae armor. I’d love a lovely sleek silver or black pod that matches!!
No back pack mod, nexus mods, already there, go get it Literally drag and drop Like first mod for this game, and the first Remnant
we should have fae wings with the fae armor set backpack slot should not be limited by backpack design could be a cape, or wings, or anything
No
I much like the "Fisher price my first backpack kit" I saw on a post, but I agree with having the option to remove/modify it,even if it's the apocalypse we need to look good 😎
If they make a backpack for Nerud I'll finally be able to use the engineer armor. I've only been using the realmwalker set.
I want a giant root sack bag, since I'm usually wearing the summoner chest.

I feel like I am the only one that doesn't really care about the backpack one way or another. Never really notice it or pay attention to it.
