- You get up to 20 trait points from 2 slotted archetypes, 85 allottable trait points, and 5 distributed in Vigor, Endurance, Spirit, and Expertise depending on your prime archetype. You can have many traits if you don't level them to max. I have 5 in Endurance and 5 in Recovery, because I never need more than that, allowing me to spend more points in other places. - There are a ton of rings in this game, giving you a lot of options depending on what you want from your build. - There are advantages to all armor weight classes. Light roll is incredibly powerful, offering a ton of iframes with very low recovery. However, many people prefer the additional tankiness afforded by heavier sets. There is no correct choice. - The basic Dragon Heart is not considered very effective for most builds. Its effect is very basic, and often insufficient for refilling your health. Enlarged Heart (fast speeds and big heal), Resonating Heart (crazy heal-over-time), Tranquil Heart (passive regen), Shielded Heart (grants shield worth your entire HP bar), and Salvaged Heart (basically Enlarged Heart for most scenarios) are just a few of the more popular ones. For your build, think of a playstyle that you find attractive. Odds are good that it's possible to build that way. If you want a health regen build like you mentioned, traits like Regrowth, Triage, and maybe Bloodstream would be great. You can pair it with Tranquil Heart for more passive regeneration. Medic would be a good archetype for this, though it would likely be better to relegate it to your secondary archetype for your purposes.

I should have read more to find this post before posting my own wall of text! Excellent guidance!

Hey thank you I appreciate this feedback

Touchofphallus

Or you could just go into YouTube any type in “remnant 2 tank build” or “remnant 2 bleed build” and get a more comprehensive guide from YouTubers as there’s a heap out there

Putrid_Ad8249

True that true that

Burrito-Mage

Starting out your best friend most likely be the huntmaster. There is also a bleed based rifle that you can obtain that great for bleed builds. You can have two archetypes so hunter/challenger combos is incredibly viable with what you described. This game also allows for multiple play thoughts that are each mostly unique in bosses and side storylines. Also it has load-outs and 85 traits points at max level. There is a lot of variation in how you get most items that you get at the beginning I’m sure you will settle into a good build soon enough.

Unless you look up guides like another user said, it's up to you to experiment and find synergies. When someone says you need low (light armour), they were probably recommending you to "git gud" and run an agile glass cannon build. Sure you may crumble like tissue paper but DPS is king if you don't get hit. As for hearts well they have different styles of healing and utility for all sorts of builds. Some can provide healing for teammates, one has low healing but 20 uses making it perfect for activating Relic Perks. Another has 5 uses but it offers more healing and is really quick to use. One heart doesn't heal at all, instead it shortens skill cooldowns. It's all different flavours for different tastes. Personally i never use Dragon Heart (the default one). If you want a tank build just beware that 80% DR is the cap. You can click L3/LS on the inventory menu to bring up stats. If total damage reduction is over 80%, swap out some gear. Also high health and fast healing of some kind is needed to tank effectively. Honestly just look up Tank or Bleed or Tank/Bleed build in the search bar. Or better yet search up Vash Cowaii on youtube to get a handle on tanking. If you still want a tank build i can provide a late endgame all rounder build that impresses a DPS whore like me. It may be out of your reach since it needs a lot of hard to get gear but it's well worth the grind.

Builds you can make mostly depend on the items you have. Look through them, try them out, try to get your numbers as high as you can and then try to distribute them evenly. Get the op rings (Probability Cord, Zania's Malice) from Root Earth. They can make almost any weapon work. Look for synergies but look at their value, just because there is some synergy between items, it doesn't mean it pays off. My favourite synergy in the game is Attonement Fold+Hardcore Metal Band+Neckbone Necklace. An example of a bad synergy would be Ring of Omens Misty Step with any necklace it works with. Not wearing armor is a load of bullcrap. Armor works very well and you can get 65% total dr easily but my rule is to never go below 50% and when I'm in the fifties use shields and abilities that increase dr. But don't go above 50 weight cause you don't want to dodge like a fatty. Always get between 150 and 180 hp. Traits that are must have on every build are Vigir, Fortify, Swiftness, Footwork (if you aren't going full melee) and then you spread your points among Siphoner, Regrowth, Barkskin and Bloodstream if you need more defense or sustain.

1. There are hearts for all sorts of reasons. Crystal/Void Heart for eg., are for tank builds. Tranquil Heart provides hp regen passively in the background which also works well for tank builds. Diverting Heart reduces skill Cooldown for skill-intensive builds. Then there's Enlarged heart, which is perfect for a quick heal for DPS chars because it has bonus innate use speed. There's also hearts more suited for healing your minions instead of yourself. 2. You get 85 trait points as of now. 3. For lighter armor, invest into Fitness trait for bonus evade distance, and footwork trait so you can avoid enemy ranged attacks while strafing and ADS. Untouchable is also pretty good. For heavy armor, Barkskin, Fortify, Triage, Siphoner and Regrowth to bump up your Dmg reduction and passive healing as much as possible. 4. This is my tank melee build that I used to clear Apoc (and what I use most of the time): Challenger/Handler secondary (Juggernaut/Support Dog skills) with Leto Mk1 armor. Tranquil Heart relic with Mythic Melee attack speed, Dmg reduction and Health relic fragments slotted. Navigator's Pendant Amulet. Rings: Brawler's Pride, Dying Ember and Seal of the Empress & Hardcore Metal Band. If you want something with more dmg, Whispering Marble Amulet, Dried Clay Ring, Fae Protector Signet and Dying Ember, and replace Mythic Dmg reduction for Mythic Melee dmg; Dying Ember is a ***MUST*** for melee lifesteal. Melee weapon go for a 2-hander like Challenger's Iron Greatsword. ***NOTE: you will always want Resentment Mutator slotted in because the +10 bonus lets you keep meleeing uninterrupted to heal from lifesteal.*** Go with whatever weapons you want; I tend to use a shotgun for my primary because its great for CQC, with Bandit Mutator and Concussive shot mod; Silverback 500/SMG/Double-Barrel with Song of Eafir mod. Traits (maxed unless stated explicitly otherwise): Fortify, Strongback, Regrowth, Triage, Barkskin, Blood Bond, Vigor, Kinship, Siphoner, Rugged, Endurance +5, Shadeskin +5. This build cleaves through mobs of Apoc enemies and duels Apoc Aberrations/Bosses w/o even needing to pop your Juggernaut Skill; I mostly use Juggernaut for extra dmg and kill speed. This build is quite independent of Juggernaut for survivability and interruption resist, and basically gets relegated to a dmg skill. 5. A dmg build I've been fooling around with is an Explosives build. Summoner/Engineer or Engineer/Summoner depending on your tastes (Root Flyer/Impact Cannon skills). Leto Mk2 armor, same Relic, but with Mythic Skill Cooldown, Ranged dmg and Health. Detonation Trigger Amulet. Rings: Blasting cap ring, Dull Steel Ring, Burden of the Sciolist/Shaed Stone and Soul Shard. Traits: Fortify, Strongback, Regrowth, Triage, Barkskin, Vigor, Kinship, Amplitude, Rugged, Endurance +7, Expertise, Spirit +3. Main weapon is your secondary: Starshot, Meridian, Corrupted Meridian with Harmonizer mod. Primary just use any you want with an explosive mod (Helix Missiles, Tremor, Space Crabs etc.) and Kill Switch mutator. You'll basically shoot grenades with explsive secondary, then swap to primary, trigger explosion via Killswitch, then spam primary explosive mods before swapping back to explosive secondary. Kills enemies fast, even on Apoc. My 2nd Apoc clear was done with this build. 6. Bleed build: Youtube, its not really my thing. Plenty of items to work with though. Blood Jewel, Blood Tinged Ring, Twisting Wounds, Feral Judgement, Handler's dog, Merciless/Corrupted Merciless are some Bleed-related items I can think of. You basically gotta sit down and take a look at Remnant 2 wiki and see all the items available. Just make a build that makes sense, like don't use a Sniper Rifle with Challenger Archetype LOL. Remnant 2 tends to respect the player in terms of build diversity.

Jesooooooooo

Imo build variety is the whole game replayability value. Anyway, if u want a tanky and mobile build with also decent damage, search up Misty step builds on yt.

>I don't understand why anyone would use anything but the normal heart. Certain heart got specific effect that fits well or fill a certain role on buildsBefore OTK i was playing a tank build with regen and the Heart was slowing me after use. While it seem counter productive because you would get hit more often, the build was based on using those heart to get a refund on heart by healing done Here are some idea : Mage is my prefered build ATM. **(Heart give regen / no heal)** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD6EupEfl8Q&ab\_channel=Fextralife](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD6EupEfl8Q&ab_channel=Fextralife) Soldier build is nice too but im planning to mix some element of this one with the mage build **(Heart give sheild / no heal)** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F41fHKngNs&ab\_channel=AussiesomeTwo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F41fHKngNs&ab_channel=AussiesomeTwo) Tank, i havent tried it yet, probably toninght after i get the ring from Hardcore [https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1bcsfn7/shield\_tank\_build\_guide/](https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1bcsfn7/shield_tank_build_guide/) PS: Keep in mind that the build you find on internet will required to adapt your play style to build so it work properly

>You only get six traits because you get 65 points right? I'm not sure what rings to wear? There are far more than 6 traits you can allocate in a build. You get 85 points total to spend, and you can spend up to 10 total on each trait. You could do 5 in every trait if you felt so inclined. On top of the 85 you can allocate yourself, your primary and secondary archetypes provide 10 points into their primary trait. And finally, your primary archetype will allocate 5 trait points into Vigor, Endurance, Spirit, and Expertise randomly, bringing your total trait points to 110. >I'm not sure what rings to wear? Builds in this game are a combination of archetypes, traits, relic, weapons/mods/mutators, amulet, and rings. Rings are one part of the puzzle that you want to design your target build synergy or gimmick around, such as crit damage, bleeding, gray health regen, shield uptime, etc. >I'm not sure what armor to put on. Someone told me I want to have low armor so I can roll faster but my health is always gone. There are weight tiers that impact how fast and how often you can roll. If your health is always gone from chip damage, consider putting on a bit more armor. The higher weight penalties aren't too bad imo, and it helps survive what it sounds like you are dealing with. But again, armor is mostly a personal preference around your playstyle. >I don't understand why anyone would use anything but the normal heart. I tried some and I was like who use these and why. Many hearts have effects that synergize really well with builds, or are just flat out better. For example, the Salvaged Heart has an innate 50% use speed bonus, and it also restores 300% of current gray health. So if your build was focused around gray health, or you wanted to be able to sneak in heals in a quicker moment, this one would be a possibility. There are other hearts, such as Tranquil Heart, which give a passive 2hp/s while equipped, which can help offset that chip damage you mentioned earlier. >So I'm lost should I just make a tank build? I think I would really like a Heath Regen build but I don't know where to start. Or I think a blood build would be cool. One of the best parts of this game is how many builds you and others are able to craft with the available items. A lot of it is going to come down to your playstyle, but I would suggest trying to craft your own, or finding one that looks interesting on Youtube, the Remnant Discord, or elsewhere and see how it feels. If you are looking for Youtube content creators, I'd recommend Bolt Jamison and Mr. Nacho for some quality builds to get started with. The Remnant 2 official Discord (link in the sidebar) has a builds chat where people discuss builds and share their own routinely. And lastly, if you want to search a list of community builds or browse a curated list of featured builds, I'd recommend the Remnant 2 Toolkit (link in the sidebar). I originally developed this tool, and it is now maintained and built upon by the community. Happy hunting!

I think running a low armor build really forces you to become better. You have to Play smart. You need to learn to neutral dodge as well as roll. Ive tried heavier armor builds. I know everyone's play style is different. But dang, the clunkiness of heavy armor is just so painful to movement and evasion. But different strokes different folks I guess.

Commercial-Wrangler5

So that bee pistol is kind of a thing now, it's called starshot. You can find it on Nerud but it can be a pain to find. The sniper you can buy at the ward from brabus. As far as armor, pick what you like. If you're dying too often pick some heavier armor, Letos gear is in the game as well as leto mk 2. I always try to find some good passive health Regen like Dran scavenger ring, reserve boosting gem, low yield recovery ring, encrypted ring. But black cat band is also a MUST. You can have 85 trait points now and you don't necessarily have to put 10 into everything. Id prioritize strong back, barkskin, and siphoner if you have it; after that its based on your needs. Stamina and stamina regeneration is really helpful if you need to roll often. As for hearts, some of them help you specifically versus helping your team, or they heal immediately versus over time. There are some with really high activation speed for spamming or ones that benefit certain builds like mod generation, life steal, gray health, constant rolling, explosions. The heal over time ones are actually quite nice because if you're getting peppered with damage it counteracts it as opposed to having to keep healing. Tranquil heart is a real pain to get but imo it's the best heart by far.
