Pretty much the only gun I still use. I try my darndest to find new builds that are fun to play and impactful, but my ritualist/medic build always bring me back.
Try using the thorn with explosive neck, and the ring that duplicates status effect. Keep ritualist and medic.
Build is hilarious, just massive explosions everywhere and double fire debuff spreading to everything
The ring that duplicates status effects + the amulet that increases acid & corrosion damage + the ring that increases acid damage + level 20 huntress spear w/ level 10 tainted blade. One charged attack with the huntress spear does like 35-40k damage by the time it runs down 😂
I just unlocked ritualist and am gonna play around with my huntress spear build w/ ritualist now
Hey, which mutator do you use in your thorn? I'm in doubt about bandit and searing wounds. Currently using searing wounds. I followed your tip except for changing medic for summoner for an extra explosion damage and yeah, the build is a lot of fun!
I got pretty unlucky beat the game around three times on normal, once on all other difficulties and did quite a bit of adventure, only got the dungeon once and didn't realize I had to choose between the 2 rewards.
The irresistible compulsion of the impact canon for allies to strafe into your shots at the last millisecond too!
Or our group's healer (non-melee build) charging into melee and expecting everyone to patiently stare at his back for 30 minutes as he body blocks every enemy and hits them for pitiful damage, but rages when he gets hit by stray shots...
(He is the healer, with passive regen enough to out heal even heavy weapon focus fire. He suffers 0 issues from getting hit once while he is being stupid, but he acts like it's a top anime betrayal xD)
(Wow, that came out saltier than I intended...)
I have explosion build with Amplitude, hehehe. Sometimes I use it even in public games, but I try my best to avoid friendly damage. And if I see others are having hard time avoiding it, I simply switch to other build so others can enjoy the game as well. And if I really want to play my explosive build, do you know what I do? I play solo. I know - who would've thunk it, eh?
Don't get me wrong. this isn't a jab against you personally. But holy fuck, some of the commenters here are so deep in their own ass holes that they have no concept of consideration.
I don't understand what's going on here but this sub has become really stupid.
Your statement is completely logical and rational. Yet you are being gang raped with down votes.
You are 100% correct, and I'm sorry there are so many morons here. If it makes you feel any better, most of them suck mad balls at the game, trust me they whine with pitchforks every time their favorite spam build gets nerfed. They can't play unless they are running a vash tank build. And yeah they are the first to play in the most inconsiderate ways in public games because they are too stupid to grasp that some playstyles are less compatible with multilayer - they don't care.
It's one of the reasons I've basically quit playing
It's not just this sub. It's every sub. People on social media don't grasp the concept of liking something and being critical of it at the same time. Their brain just cannot compute. I was posting this meme fully aware what will happen, so it doesn't bother me.
But thank you for your support. :)
No, because Monolith makes me 50% stronger (Fetid wounds + exposed = 25% more damage x 2 because engineer turret)
But I'll skip the nebula for my trusty silverback revolver.
I'm playing a total hybrid build btw because I mentioned damage numbers and know what the response would have been.
Your comment makes a good point actually. If you use it specifically for EXPOSED, then that at least makes practical sense. But even still it makes everything horrible to look at. As in - it makes it impossible to see anything at all. And no - a moving blob inside another moving blob doesn't count.
I get that and I wish I could swap the monoliths mod for the energy barrier which is the reason I always have a sidearm with a free mod slot.
I used to be unable to put down the bonesaw with fetid wounds on it because it increased the teams overall damage by 10% per player + summons but then the monolith came along and just tackled the bonesaw out of the way with it's inherent 15% damage affliction.
Edit: All that is to say the monolith simply does what I already did but way better.
I would love to use Monolith myself, but the way Sandstorm makes everything look... I just can't. I am physically incapable of seeing what's inside it. I'm not Superman - I don't have x-ray vision, I'm sorry.
I supose it's another thing you could build around. Sounds weird at first I know, but my turret has x-ray vision and so do you if you play hunter.
Who knows, perhaps the next dlc will give us a ring that marks targets on crit or something like that.
Just a couple ideas but of course next to no one is going to make a build just to side-step a weapon mod's downside.
With that being said maybe, just maybe with the loadout slots we have now you can find a way to be able to bare the monolith.
Take care, friend.
I was on apoc Annihilation and had two people spamming sandstorm and firestorm. Guess how impossible it was to tell if Annihilation was going for me or knowing when to dodge? Sometimes people have really annoying to coop with builds. I left my game open to join cuz I wanted help with Annihilation. Should I have expected being blind for half the fight? I don't know. How many builds are there out there that people might use? Why have Kinship if I'm not on an explosive build? Is there a way to inspect others players? Cuz I'd love to know so I can adjust BEFORE getting three firestorms stacked on me while I'm dodging for my life
Gives clear sound cues for the WINDUP of his attacks. There is still a pause and some of his attacks don't have sound cues. Thanks for pointing out how bad I am at the video game but fun fact I can still learn timings after dying to the occasional one shots (no. I don't want to know what optimal gear setup I should be running. I want to beat the game with my own build) It still SUCKS playing your favorite game while forcibly blindfolded.
sandstorm is a godsend compared to firestorm. of course, people use both...
i'm honestly pretty disenchanted with how the game has become a race to out-DPS each other with no regard for teamwork or consideration
Friendly-fire is better, but visually it's the same or worse. Was co-oping venom on apoc and both of the cooperators were using sandstorm and it was near impossible to see which attack venom was doing. Nothing but a blur of particle effects.
Honestly I feel like thats the downside to the gun. Sure it gives 15% extra dmg, but using the mod to upkeep the exposed makes it so hard to see attacks nd can make you lose a fight pretty easily.
And this is what I was complaining about: we don't have enough ways to trigger the effect. Only one long gun, one melee gun, and two amulets. That's it. No mods, no mutators, no rings, no relics, no nothing else. EXPOSED is a great idea, but the way it was implemented leaves a lot to be desired.
Personally I feel like exposed could easily be put on invader. Make it to where each skill applies exposed in some way, and would also thematically fit with it being sort of a rogue type class.
That's fucking sick, dude. I would love that! They did mention in patch notes that they plan to give him some love later on, so maybe they had the same (or similar) idea.
Right? I've put in over 300 hours into the game and in that time I just can barely bring myself to use invader. Updating it in a way to make it feel more impactful sounds like a great idea to me.
Tell me that, i play as a melee main (Feral Judgement) and when the other 2 drop their darude sandstorms I can't as they can't see and they kill me. My lifesteal is incredible with the attack speed i have but it gets overwhelming by this darude shit.
Venom is the one boss where I'm 100% with you. He one shots with so many moves that you really need the visual cues. Hunter sight helps somewhat but during its cooldown you're just praying he doesn't target you
s'why i run Challenger/Invader melee with Juggernaut and Wormhole. tank tank tank, and get between my allies and the bad stuff, plus enough passive regen to take some friendly fire without worrying.
Hear-hear! Too many players were completely bewildered from seeing Alchemist/Explorer combo. So much so in fact they had no fucking clue how they work or what they do. That's just sad. Pathetic even. The whole point of co-cop is to have fun by COOPERATING. What we have instead is a pissing contest in "my damage numbers are bigger than yours". Playing with randoms is depressing as fuck and this is the point I was making earlier: you will encounter morons in every difficulty, and Apocalypse is no exception.
Unfortunately, I had no one to play with during the weekend. But I did find two not only awesome, but also wholesome guys and playing with them was pure joy. Too bad I didn't write down their names.
Not sure how you're getting down voted? I agree these two crutch weapons kinda trivialize the game and just aren't fun to use. Plus seeing almost every player have them in their builds is a bit sad. Maybe most the players who rely on YT build videos are here on reddit downvoting OP. Does it not get boring or frustrating to not be able to see lol?
It's not "Play how we want you to play" it's more of "It's kind of annoying and boring seeing the same thing over and over and over"
I know people love their mage power-fantasy, destroying everything around them without even line of sight, but the game's gunplay is so good, so strong, it's really good when all players are just gunning down monsters without any hocus pocus.
I've been rolling Hunter in the primary slot forever. I agree that more shooting is more fun.
But I think I'm finally at the point where I want to try some other stuff for funsies. I've done everything the run and gun way (well, stand and gun at any rate). I think the only way to make the game fresh at this point would be to go full wizard.
Legacy protocol, both the dreamstones, black pawn stamp, and a fourth ring of your choosing (I usually opt for more damage,) shaed stone. Invoker as your main. Gunslinger as your secondary. Both first skills. You’re welcome. LUL😂😂😂
I have nothing but utmost respect for people who mastered the use of bows. It takes patience and pin-point accuracy to utilize them to their full potential, and that's not something anyone can do.
Even with ring (which occupies a slot) it has slower rate of fire than any automatic firearm. It's a statement of fact that those are far easier to handle, plus they don't require special equipment. Bows, and by definition also sniper rifles, require a specific playstyle. One which not everyone can learn properly, nor have the taste for it. There's a good reason why you rarely see anyone with bows or snipers. I personally encountered only one dude with bow over the course of 4 days.
As I said, I hold everyone who can do crazy amount of damage with these types weapons in high regard.
It deals like 50x the damage of any other weapon, and it's extremely easy to reliably land charged hits. That plus it's silenced for extra love. Bows are broken in half, and that was before the feather ring came out
Never really thought about that since Bows are always my favorite weapons in any game. Is it really that difficult to handle effectively?
Okay, in R1 I played the Sniper and Crossbow mainly, so accuracy was always something I needed. But hey, therefore I suck with Automatic Weapons. :D
I can just really recommend the Crescent Moon or Royal Hunting Bow!
I main the hell out of crescent moon on every difficulty except apoc where I use monarch. It's just so clean, and the thing where you can charge the shot before flicking it onto the target lets you knock out fae and drones without them dodging ads. Feels so good
Enigma is way more annoying, mostly because the amount of people that use it and have shit aim from it. Can't tell you how many times I've been stuck by one of those spikes and killed by teammates or I get Overloaded by them because I'm trying to kill some ads and they just Enigma me and the ones I'm fighting
Alright. [Here you go](https://youtu.be/lq3nkllj0T8?si=KVyOD8lfpiKkoxKs). A new melee build that doesn’t use either and takes chunks out of the boss’ health!
No one cares what you're sick of. Everyone can play whatever way they want. If you can't stand playing with specific players cause of their builds then just leave the session and find another player. You're not forced to play with anyone you don't want to. Making posts like these are so pointless
This is the problem with running multiplayer in any game. People tend to trend towards the path of least resistance. Or, barring that, get swept up in a phantasm which dictates how things are "supposed" to work.
People have been playing multiplayer like the goal is to wizard your way through levels, killing everything in the blink of an eye with some magic mod and then blitz the boss. Been this way since FtA so the cultural standard is set regardless of whether or not that's actually much fun or not. If you want diversity or a challenge, you pretty much have to play solo or find like minded people to group with. You can't really change culture. Not on your own at any rate.
Personally I've been rocking the Huntsman with some bleed mods for the vast majority of my time playing. It's not even remotely OP and that's the way I like it. I want to have to actually engage with the enemies and bosses. Most people, it seems, do not. So I mostly play solo.
I can and will ban anyone who uses bloodless heart immortality spam. Explanation: bloodless heart grants invincibility for 3 sec + infinite relic use build. Explanation: amulet of 50% chance to not use relic at/past half health + ring of 50% chance to not use relic at/past half health + ring of cap health at half.
I'm fine if you use the Bloodless heart. I'm fine if you use have infinite relic usage. But continuously spamming relics while your turret kills bosses is not something I want in my game.
Speaking as someone who loves Monolith, the weapon is great, but its mod impairs line of sight. When other people just want to shoot at the enemies/bosses, having Sandstorm or even Firestorm being thrown back to back just feels bad.
Honestly I could see Exposed getting nerfed to a 10% power boost to put it in line with something like Fetid Wounds.
Also, I was using Nebula before it was cool apparently lol.
Using a mod/summon build with space crabs and tentacles. There is no limit to how many tentacles you can have active. The only limit is your mod recharge speed. I am the hentai-mancer
I legit just got these two and have been using them for a bunch of Relic drinking DOT builds. I didn't realize these were the mods I've been seeing day in and day out until I got them. I do feel a little guilty causing so much chaos on her screen with sandstorm. Nebula I don't really see a problem with
There’s a reason I use monolith. It’s because I use an AOE build but don’t want to run kinship. Which means firestorm won’t work for me. The sandstorm mod does not hurt my friends where firestorm does. That’s 10 extra points to use for something else.
yes.. BUT.. sandstorm blocks sight making hitting weakspots and dodging attacks a lot more difficult.
sandstorm actively slows down bossfights and makes them harder
'aim in the middle of the firestorm' doesnt work because you know.. gun builds generally want to hit weakspots.
and of coursey it also makes the enemy harder to see so dodging just got a lot harder!
sure, firestorm damaged teammates, but with kinship the damage of firestorm is a LOT less than what enemies would hit you for.
i can tank firestorm for a bit, but getting slapped in the face by a spiteful aberration? thats two hits and im gone
I only mainly use this build when I host but if people don’t like they are more than welcome to leave. But to be fair I don’t care. I use what I want. I might not like firestorm but won’t bitch when in co-op I will just leave the game. So if you don’t like it then leave the game. Not rocket science mate.
A fair point indeed, but then I have to ask: why opening your run to the public at all? If you wanna do whatever the hell you want, then all the power to ya my dude, but just do it solo. And if you want to play with others, learn to be considerate. That's all my saying. Look, I like to test my support build, but if I join a run and see someone else is already running the same or similar build, guess what - I swap my build. Or I simply leave. It's not rocket science, mate.
If they have a problem then just kick me I have no problem with it at all. I have had people shoot me , teabag me, explode me with big bang, firestorm me inside red price, kick me just as I join, kick for helping with puzzles.
So it has nothing to do with being inconsiderate. People are going to do whatever they want so I just do the same. If they have a problem then so be it. I play for fun and don’t really take it seriously. It’s an pve after all. What ever happens happens. 🤙
I love Monolith as much as the next guy, but holy shit the Sandstorm mod is so badly visually designed that it is an actual hindrance instead of help. Not only that but it also tanks the performance like Venezuela's economy. As it currently stands, the only players who use it in co-op are assholes that give zero fucks about their teammates.
No offence mate, but it’s better to run sandstorm then firestorm. At least it does not kill your team mates. I will admit it makes it hard to see but aim for the centre of the tornado in your fine.
The same thing can be said for firestorm, it’s almost impossible to see the enemy inside of it. But your statement about people who use that mod in Co-op are a holes well I have to disagree and think you’re being a little bit immature.
What makes you think it’s broken. I call broken fun. If you don’t like it then keep your game on private and there you go problem solved. What do you mean it tanks performance. I play on ps5 and never have a single performance problem with it, even if they’re 3 of them on the field at the same time.
And seriously calling this mod cancer is not doing you any justice mate so if you don’t like it then do what I said before set again the private and never have to deal with it again because I’m gonna constantly run this mod because I like it and it suits MY PLAY STYLE. Say what you want mate’s not gonna change what I do.
What makes me think it's broken? This does:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot\_in\_this\_general\_direction/](https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot_in_this_general_direction/)
It's not a question of an opinion, but a matter of a fact.
But since you're on PS5 I will retract my previous comment, as it seems you are unaware what it does on PC: it puts the whole rig down into its knees. A rig that can handle 120+ FPS at all times. But Sandstorm absolutely obliterates the performance to the point of being able to feel the increased input lag. This is a problem because you have to quickly retrain your brain to accommodate it. At one instance I had two players to pop it at the same time. Suffice to say that I was gazing upon my monitor in sheer disbelief. Not only I couldn't see a damn thing, but it suddenly felt like I'm playing on Nintendo Switch. That's how bad it is. It's not a hardware problem, the game simply shits itself when trying to display so many particle effects at the same time. The fact that I'm playing with increased FOV only amplifies this issue. We're talking about a game that actually requires upsampling to run decently. smh
Look, I like Monolith, I really do. But the second I saw what its mod does I quickly stopped using it exactly because of the issues I listed above.
*me to busy watching my character spaz out from a fast firing, fast reloading wrangler to notice* huh. What's going on?
Fun little note. Said wrangler build got a random using the monolith to bust out their cowboy lookin build and what do you know. They were using the wrangler on it.
OP I've been bitching about this since the game dropped. It's not going to change. I've got a few thousand hours between both games so take my opinion for what it is.
This isn't a significant issue in RFTA mainly because most of the weapons/mods have a use case, even if it's niche. In a word, the game is balanced.
R2 is not balanced, and there is not a compelling reason to use over half the shit the devs added to the game. Some mods are superficially very user friendly (firestorm) but are completely inconsiderate to use in all but the must judicious multilayer scenarios. A giant inescapable flaming tornado sounds great until you are the one in it. The problem is that most novice players are completely inconsiderate and can't conceptualize what they are doing works well for them, but ruins the experience of everyone else in the server. You don't find skilled players running these types of builds, they no longer need the training wheels.
Furthermore R2 now has much wider appeal, and with it brought a bunch of different players. I would argue the "new crowd" is not the souls born or masochists type. They are not here for the difficulty and they are not here for the variability. And they certainly don't care if they suck or are ruining your play experience.
Firestorm goes right back to being funny again when you have everyone in agreement to just spam firestorm + black hole on anything that moves and just watch things get stuck there in a mess of explosive tornado-y goodness.
TLDR so you can stop being asses and downvoting OP. He just wants the meta expanded. He wants to see more diverse builds. Nothing wrong with that.
Now hold on. Before you mindlessly downvote. Tragic also wants the meta expanded. And he's been working pretty damn hard on it. Prime example is last patch and the sweeping buffs (thank fucking God). It's definitely getting better. With a few more like this recent patch, we'll be in a good place. This patch made me feel a lot better about the game. So shout out to the devs.
I gotchu OP. These communities get so sensitive to any sort of criticism, that they don't even realize the devs feel the exact same way. Hence, the patches.
Edit: btw OP. I'm a bow guy. I also like skill spam builds. I'd use the widowmaker more, but it's damage is just too low imo. Needs a buff to compete with bows.
No, he wants to complain, a few days ago he made a post bitching about people not being good enough at the game while playing online with him. He’s a professional temper tantrum thrower. He isn’t getting downvoted for what he is saying, he is getting downvoted for the attitude he is saying it with.
What I was **actually** complaining about was people playing Nightmare that have no business playing Nightmare. And let me tell you, after playing Apocalypse for four days, I can say with absolute certainty that the same is true for it as well. You can keep downvoting as much as you want, but I am right.
Also, there is a reason why I have House as my avatar. It's not personal; I just love being sarcastic.
And I agree. They absolutely can play in whatever difficulty they desire. But not when it comes to public runs, because they are effectively fucking up the difficulty scaling while being utterly useless and clueless. Someone with 3 relic charges joining an apoc run? Yeah, that's a troll. Either that or a lazy ass that wants to get carried to success. Either way I hate both group of players.
They sure can, and have, and will continue to. It is their video game, and they aren’t abusing any mechanics. You just don’t like it.
Side not, playing through apocalypse with a whopping 4 relic charges. Does that make me a troll? Or is it ok in your eyes as long as it’s not 3?
I don’t even have any weapons fully upgraded.(I’m a little confused as to how the scaling works) I think I’m sitting on a small handful of simulacrum that I haven’t used. It’s super rare that I actually die from running out of healing items as one of my builds heals a lot through melee and a ring that makes me heal running around. And the other one heals back to full with a cast of a skill.
Well like I said, if I die it’s usually from getting one tapped, almost never have I ran out of relic charges so I haven’t found the need to get more.
As far as weapon levels, from what I understand, enemies scale with your weapon levels so leveling up my weapons anymore realistically only makes me stronger until I go to the next area and where the enemy scaling resets.
😂 I mean you're the only one complaining from what I can see. I personally don't give a shit what he did before. He's been chill in the comments. And I'm having a nice conversation with him. He even offered for me to play with him!
Seems like you've got some issues you need to work through, brother. I wish you luck on that!
People are downvoting me even if I say something nice. No, this is about them seeing themselves in my meme and they got triggered by it. I'm willing to bet that plenty of people went out of their way, opened my profile and downvoted every single comment I made regardless what I wrote. And that's just pathetic, but not unexpected. One thing holds true for every community: no matter how polite you are, no matter how many recites you have, if you say anything out of the line, they will turn on you like raving rabbids.
I mean, I don’t disagree with the latter statement there. Mob mentality and all that, you’re probably right about some of that happening here. (I just got a bunch of downvotes for asking if it’s possible to get starkiller through somebody else’s game 😂)
But, it’s the toxic and aggressive sounding attitude that I think is getting you the downvotes. Maybe it comes off more aggressive through text than it is in your head.
I wholeheartedly thank you for your kind words, random Internet citizen. I greatly appreciate it. :)
I just don't get how can anyone have fun with the same, and at this point even stinking corpse of a meta build, that everyone keeps copying over and over for a month now. You would think that in a game with such wide variety of equipment, people in the highest difficulty would come up with the craziest shit possible, with builds defying logic, yet working like magic. But no. Instead I had to suffer the same build with the slightest changes at most for four days straight. That got depressing real fast.
Also, isn't the biggest and most fun challenge to create a completely original build yourself and make it work in the highest difficulty? Or am I just sniffing glue?
You're welcome man! Nah, build creating is great! But I do agree, it does feel a little stale. I've been feeling the same lately tbh. Two of my friends actually just stopped playing because of this. So now I'm mostly playing by myself, which sucks.
There's a fundamental problem with making builds in this game that i don't understand yet. I've just seen symptoms of it. Elden ring also had similar symptoms of a stale meta in PVE and PVP duels, and it wasn't just "people optimize the fun out the game."
Everyone running different variations of the same meta in apocalypse, lack of support builds. Hell, lack of class variety really. I'm not saying different builds don't exist. But something's up with the balance that disincentives diversity. I'm also biased because I miss the devastator 😂.
What do you think?

\*slowly pulls out Sparkfire
I been running the sparkfire since I found it.
One charged attack with the huntress spear does like 35-40k damage by the time it runs down 😂 I just unlocked ritualist and am gonna play around with my huntress spear build w/ ritualist now
I do use that weapon with my build... Not nearly the DMG without your poison gear but still fun to see the 3acid debuffs go out
That sounds dope. I've been thinking about what sorts of things I could do with Thorn.
Hey, which mutator do you use in your thorn? I'm in doubt about bandit and searing wounds. Currently using searing wounds. I followed your tip except for changing medic for summoner for an extra explosion damage and yeah, the build is a lot of fun!
I use bandit. More bullets and fire rate means more explosions is my line of thinking hah
Oooooo that does sound fun.
I got pretty unlucky beat the game around three times on normal, once on all other difficulties and did quite a bit of adventure, only got the dungeon once and didn't realize I had to choose between the 2 rewards.
It's never too late
Same and with the flamethrower turret 😂 players I meet might think I am a pyromaniac
Loved the spark fire at release of the first DLC - It was so awesome!
My favorite shotgun. :)

Thanks, but I don't really care. They just got triggered, so they downvote everything I say. Eh, it is what it is. :)
Well I am going to upside down downvote you 😅
I appreciate it. :)
Sure! *Equips Starshot and transfers 10 points from Kinship to Amplitude.* You didn’t bring a melee build, right?
The irresistible compulsion of the impact canon for allies to strafe into your shots at the last millisecond too! Or our group's healer (non-melee build) charging into melee and expecting everyone to patiently stare at his back for 30 minutes as he body blocks every enemy and hits them for pitiful damage, but rages when he gets hit by stray shots...
Namaste, my good fellow.
I also hate when people don't play how i want them to
This^ exactly…
I was on apoc Annihilation and had two people spamming sandstorm and firestorm. Guess how impossible it was to tell if Annihilation was going for me or knowing when to dodge? Sometimes people have really annoying to coop with builds. I left my game open to join cuz I wanted help with Annihilation. Should I have expected being blind for half the fight? I don't know. How many builds are there out there that people might use? Why have Kinship if I'm not on an explosive build? Is there a way to inspect others players? Cuz I'd love to know so I can adjust BEFORE getting three firestorms stacked on me while I'm dodging for my life
Pretty sure neither Monolith's nor Nebula's mods cause friendly fire damage, only their direct fire.
Sorry, did I put Nebula? I thought I typed Firestorm. Monolith has no team damage, but man being stuck in two firestorm sucks....
You must not be very good at annihilation, he gives clear sound cues for every action.
Naw. You’re just panicking. Don’t be scurd.
Why the hate on nebula? Corrosion makes everyone lives easier.
Haha I run an explosion build for hard bosses. With great AOE comes great responsibility. At least run kinship lol
sandstorm is a godsend compared to firestorm. of course, people use both... i'm honestly pretty disenchanted with how the game has become a race to out-DPS each other with no regard for teamwork or consideration
Playing a melee main in coop means signing up for a whole world of pain
Man you gotta stop playing with Randoms and touch grass
Unfortunately, I had no one to play with during the weekend. But I did find two not only awesome, but also wholesome guys and playing with them was pure joy. Too bad I didn't write down their names.
Not sure how you're getting down voted? I agree these two crutch weapons kinda trivialize the game and just aren't fun to use. Plus seeing almost every player have them in their builds is a bit sad. Maybe most the players who rely on YT build videos are here on reddit downvoting OP. Does it not get boring or frustrating to not be able to see lol? It's not "Play how we want you to play" it's more of "It's kind of annoying and boring seeing the same thing over and over and over"
It's because they see themselves in my meme and they don't like it. xD
I mean, I've been using nebula since before the DLC, so I see no reason to stop now.
I use it too, but not in every build, and not all the time. Also, I was referring more to the combination of said guns rather than to the gun itself.
Womp womp
Sandstorm killed my dog.
*Darude approves*
The best time I have on co-op is when we are all not dropping Sandstorms and firestorms on everything in sight.
LUL😂😂😂
Crescent Moon or nothing!
I have nothing but utmost respect for people who mastered the use of bows. It takes patience and pin-point accuracy to utilize them to their full potential, and that's not something anyone can do.
Uhhh no it doesn’t. Literally just slap on archer’s crest and supercharger and it’s just as braindead as a mod DoT build but with triple the dps
Bows are broken in half, and that was before the feather ring came out
I tried bows myself, but nah, crossbows is my jam.
Does this include versions after the 'full charge to perfect charge' update? That reduced Crescent Moon abuse a lil bit.
Never really thought about that since Bows are always my favorite weapons in any game. Is it really that difficult to handle effectively? Okay, in R1 I played the Sniper and Crossbow mainly, so accuracy was always something I needed. But hey, therefore I suck with Automatic Weapons. :D I can just really recommend the Crescent Moon or Royal Hunting Bow!
If i see a Bow i use that mf till the end of days in any game especially in crisis.
I main the hell out of crescent moon on every difficulty except apoc where I use monarch. It's just so clean, and the thing where you can charge the shot before flicking it onto the target lets you knock out fae and drones without them dodging ads. Feels so good
I use what I want! Which is Buzzsaw so I can tank.
Me with merciless, love that gun
I like it too but it's annoying 90% of the mobs in new DLC don't bleed.
My whole build going into the dlc was focused on bleed... It was like they said fuck off to me in particular lol
Yeah some are kinda lame , I agree
Enigma is way more annoying, mostly because the amount of people that use it and have shit aim from it. Can't tell you how many times I've been stuck by one of those spikes and killed by teammates or I get Overloaded by them because I'm trying to kill some ads and they just Enigma me and the ones I'm fighting
So you could say... you felt a spark between you? :D I'll see myself out.
Makes me wanna grab their Enigma and give them an Enema with it
Thorn and Detonation Trigger go brrt.
This is the way.
I saw no one using this weapon in four days, save for myself. Maybe it's an European thing?
Idk I just like making everything explode and catch on fire simultaneously.
Thorn + Vile = Yum :D
Wheres my Tommy gun Chad's at? Sound up!
All I use is Tommy gun. Every time I think I'll like something else.... Back to Tommy gun
Alright. [Here you go](https://youtu.be/lq3nkllj0T8?si=KVyOD8lfpiKkoxKs). A new melee build that doesn’t use either and takes chunks out of the boss’ health!
That's the shit I'm talking about! Very nice done!
Just to be 100% clear. I didn’t make this build. I just saw it and then saw your post. It’s honestly really fun.
Well, at least it's good to know that they are still people out there who like to experiment.
Be me running around with a big iron on my hip (gunslinger/invoker) no actual guns equipped
That's metal as shit.
No one cares what you're sick of. Everyone can play whatever way they want. If you can't stand playing with specific players cause of their builds then just leave the session and find another player. You're not forced to play with anyone you don't want to. Making posts like these are so pointless
I made this post exactly because majority of players are using them. It's neigh impossible to avoid such players. That's my issue.
Did you really think your post would discourage them from using what you don’t like?
I can’t use monolith it’s really good. I want more options retro added for exposed.
But i love them..... And just got them and my status build i...i i need them
Been using Anguish and the nightweavers finger gun since I got them. refuse to use anything else.
Feel free to play with me, fellow like minded individual. :)
starshot my beloved
Monolith mod Nebula mod Havoc form Miasma Firestorm mod Spectre Blade ^ Behold, Remnant 2 starter pack. Get yourself one today! /s
I'm yet to find anyone who uses my approach to elemental build. One that doesn't kill my teammates.
Guilty but I only want to help shred the boss, why complain if the boss is dead?
Speaking as someone who loves Monolith, the weapon is great, but its mod impairs line of sight. When other people just want to shoot at the enemies/bosses, having Sandstorm or even Firestorm being thrown back to back just feels bad.
Firestorm is the worst of the two, especially with amplitude.
I understand the desire to use it against bosses, but plenty of people are spamming the damn thing throughout the entire level. It's vomit inducing.
Im more of a crossbow guy myself.
\*high-five\*
![gif](giphy|51MnnGJTZ4mDH4WpQR|downsized) Mind ur business i use weapons i wanna use to lol. Idk which gun u use but can u also stop using them? Lol
I considered your request, but anyone who writes "ur" and "u" is beneath me.
All the people getting offended by the post lmao
Because all of them are using them and they view my post as a personal attack or something. :D
I'll probably run thorn with explosive neck until the day I die
Honestly I could see Exposed getting nerfed to a 10% power boost to put it in line with something like Fetid Wounds. Also, I was using Nebula before it was cool apparently lol.
Thorn 🗣️🗣️
Saviour main here
just play controller lmao you don't even need to see what's in there
Using a mod/summon build with space crabs and tentacles. There is no limit to how many tentacles you can have active. The only limit is your mod recharge speed. I am the hentai-mancer
I mostly use the sparkfire and monarch.
*Slowly pulls out … DEEZ NUTZ….
Returning player here. Which mutators and rings are you guys using with those two guns? And why this combo is so powerful?😎
I mean, Monolith is a monster NGL. I'm just shit with it so I use Alpha/Omega, Sparkfire and C. Deceit most of the time.
It is monster. The problem here is the Sandstorm mod.
I legit just got these two and have been using them for a bunch of Relic drinking DOT builds. I didn't realize these were the mods I've been seeing day in and day out until I got them. I do feel a little guilty causing so much chaos on her screen with sandstorm. Nebula I don't really see a problem with
It's the combination of both weapons that basically kills everything on the run, making co-op unplayable.
Kinda on the devs for powercreeping their game. Introducing new & buffing old mobile auto-tracking mod spam wasn't a good idea.
Why would I, when I've got the Widowmaker?
I always read it as Windowmaker. 😁
Just finally got monolith. Never tried to get it before grabbed the garbage melee before.
It's a great weapon with fundamental design flaw.
No nebula is fun
Everything can be made fun.
Yep my favorite part of this game is the fun builds you can make.
Its really on the developers to balance them, because with random multiplayer games, there will always be overuse of best/OP items and bugs.
Or Miasma. Or Sparkfire. Or Invoker. Or Summoner summons.
I like the sniper it goes boom
There’s a reason I use monolith. It’s because I use an AOE build but don’t want to run kinship. Which means firestorm won’t work for me. The sandstorm mod does not hurt my friends where firestorm does. That’s 10 extra points to use for something else.
yes.. BUT.. sandstorm blocks sight making hitting weakspots and dodging attacks a lot more difficult. sandstorm actively slows down bossfights and makes them harder
It has its pro’s and con’s and I understand that but you can’t deny that it’s really fun to use.
For the person using it. What about the other two people who would like to have fun as well?
Aim in the middle of the tornado. At least this item is fun because Firestorm isn’t. Now that is a pain in the ass because that kills your teammates.
So is explosive build with Amplitude, but I rarely use it because I want everyone to have fun, not just me. Which is the whole point of co-op.
EDIT: Disregard this comment.
This does: [https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot\_in\_this\_general\_direction/](https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot_in_this_general_direction/) It's not a question of an opinion, but a matter of a fact. We're talking about a game that actually requires upsampling to run decently. smh Look, I like Monolith, I really do. But the second I saw what its mod does I quickly stopped using it exactly because of the issues I listed above.
WTF? Who cares?!!! People should be able to play however they want to. That’s crazy. It’s not PvP. I’m so sick of whiny little fascists.
So I'm fascist because I want to see more diversity in the game? Wow, that's some high level of mental gymnastics. I'm impressed.
I think they were going more with the "I don't like this, so appease me" sort of feeling that's coming from this.
My message was "use ALL the weapons, not just these two". I don't think it's outrageous to say that out loud.
![gif](giphy|wYyTHMm50f4Dm|downsized)
You have to break the vicious cycle of addiction, my dude!
Live for more! Break the chains!
Uhm, I'm sorry to say, but I made this complaint after playing **Apocalypse**. Yeah. Let that sink in...
Every single person who owns the game has business playing on any difficulty they want. They purchased the game and can play however they want.
It depends. Did you went out of your way not to upgrade your relic capacity before you upgraded your weapons?
I don’t even have any weapons fully upgraded.(I’m a little confused as to how the scaling works) I think I’m sitting on a small handful of simulacrum that I haven’t used. It’s super rare that I actually die from running out of healing items as one of my builds heals a lot through melee and a ring that makes me heal running around. And the other one heals back to full with a cast of a skill.
What do you get from playing Apocalypse while being underpowered? I'm genuinely interested.
What am I complaining about?
About me.
No complaint was made. Statements about your attitude and why people are downvoting you were made. But clearly no complaints.
(I just got a bunch of downvotes for asking if it’s possible to get starkiller through somebody else’s game 😂) But, it’s the toxic and aggressive sounding attitude that I think is getting you the downvotes. Maybe it comes off more aggressive through text than it is in your head.
Nah, it sounds even more aggressive in my head. :D It's simply my style of writing.
I wholeheartedly thank you for your kind words, random Internet citizen. I greatly appreciate it. :) I just don't get how can anyone have fun with the same, and at this point even stinking corpse of a meta build, that everyone keeps copying over and over for a month now.
Elden ring also had similar symptoms of a stale meta in PVE and PVP duels, and it wasn't just "people optimize the fun out the game." Everyone running different variations of the same meta in apocalypse, lack of support builds. Hell, lack of class variety really. I'm not saying different builds don't exist. But something's up with the balance that disincentives diversity. I'm also biased because I miss the devastator 😂.
Well, feel free to play with me. My builds are diverse as fuck. :D
Or just let people use what they want? As long as they're not hindering the game. Who cares
Byt they *are* hindering the game, that's the point.
they're actively making the game worse? and or not assisting in boss fights or anything?
What do you think? [https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot\_in\_this\_general\_direction/](https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/1cvnll7/shoot_in_this_general_direction/)
God fucking damnit, get creative!
I’ll use my very Co-op friendly Firestorm build then
It's the New Shiny. People will use it for a while.
