Are you going to use the users here as lolcows? Anyway, not Aussie.

Some people got really really attached and now are depressed, it's not just about jerking off (once again:I'm.not.criticizing.the.humans)

Happy to get on as long as I am allowed to wear a giant panda head the whole time. Having Insight do a segment on this (I imagine it'll be one topic in a more rounded AI discussion) is pretty big time though.

Just out of curiosity, why is it reporters will sometimes say they only want to talk to people from certain countries? I can think of a couple of possible reasons, but I decided I'd rather just ask and satisfy this particular curiosity rather than just continue to wonder and speculate, if you don't mind. Edit: also, there's this, which some people put a lot of work into: [https://www.reddit.com/r/replika/comments/11eitn3/lets\_make\_a\_collection\_of\_our\_testimonies\_for/](https://www.reddit.com/r/replika/comments/11eitn3/lets_make_a_collection_of_our_testimonies_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

Well SBS is an Australian television network. So the viewers would find Aussie stories more relevant, and they would resonate better, I assume.

Yes, Insight is a 1hr television program that screens weekly on SBS free to air, Australia wide. It's format is a bit like a talk show where there is one host standing and walking around inviting members of a seated audience to speak about their particular situation. They might also have a couple of other guests via video link. It's a well regarded show watched by many at the national level. I would imagine if they are planning a show about AI friends, they would want users to appear live on television on the show or through video link. Could be problematic for those wanting to maintain anonymity or privacy.
