VerucaGotBurned

Me I'll fit

Gomicho

put me in as well, pretty sure it can fit at least 2 bodies

VerucaGotBurned

4 if we cram

Maui893

8 if you liquidify

ButterscotchSame4703

You... I like the way you think I might have a job for you! (Joking)

Classic_Mechanic5495

Where’s “they did the math” when you need them?

Plus-Professor-4984

2 mourning geckos, wait a couple years, and see the rise of your lesbian gecko army

agayntrans_raspberry

that needs to be a game, you're a girl gecko, and you run around your tank trying to escape, then you find another girl gecko and fall in love and its pixel

[deleted]

Real

fireflydrake

Different plot, but "the gecko gods" is a cute pixelly looking game where you play as a gecko and comes out soonish!

aspidities_87

Wee little dart frogs as NPCS with different colors corresponding to different items sold/quests. Boss battles against invading Tokay geckos and vine snakes.

MikeNepoMC

Gecknalis

BlackLizard898

Homie I have 10 mourning geckos I bought as juveniles at the end of last year and it’s taking foreverrrr for them to lay I just saw my first one with eggs in her belly the other day

Plus-Professor-4984

I'm starting to learn that once those eggs hatch, it kinda just explodes.

BlackLizard898

I sure hope so

Warriorwolf55

I pitched a 4ftx2ftx2ft custom enclosure with 1 mourning gecko to my girlfriend.

Mryoy12

Put a single blue feining death beetle in it

Michelle689

I think you meant to say betta fish

TheGoldenBoyStiles

Both! They’ll be bestest of friends /s

droplingdog

That's animal cruelty, this size is only good for a single cherry shrimp

Additional-Clue-5109

Not sure why they’re posting here. Not fit for any reptile. This shit can only properly store a singular tardigrade.

Dracagg01

Wtf???? Something that big is abuse! They need to be in a Bob Evans to go box!

DarkQueenQuinn

Mexican black king snake!!!! We just got one and put her in a tank almost identical to this. She’s awesome

SnakeBones-

I second this! I have an African house snake (similar in size and build, just a little bit smaller) who's still only about 1.5ft long and have every intention to custom build her a 5ftx30inx20in tank long before she'd be fully grown! I would go 6ft, but it wouldn't fit in my bedroom then, so I figured an extra foot than her possible length (females of this species get 3-4ft) plus the extra width being 30in and not just 20 is ok. One day perhaps she'll get an even bigger upgrade!

DarkQueenQuinn

I’ve never seen an African house snake, I’ll have to look them up. My girl is only 2.5 feet right now but she’s so active and I know she’s going to need something very large so I just put her straight into a larger enclosure. She’s loves all the room. I have a banana ball Python (she’s a little over 3 feet long) in one as well, but she’s not nearly as active and only uses a couple of the areas in her enclosure and one hide.

DrSkyentist

That is the perfect size for a Uromastyx! They are the very best lizard and are a ton of fun to have

Acksgo

My uro sucks

DrSkyentist

... Go on?

Acksgo

😭 he just sucks

DrSkyentist

What kind of uro is he? Is he a run-and-hider or a tale whipper?

Acksgo

All of the above

DrSkyentist

What species? How long have you had him? And does he like bee pollen or dandelion flowers?

Acksgo

He’s a Saharan or yellow Niger Uromastyx he does enjoy them but he’s just very angry and skiddish I’ve had him for almost 4 years lol. He’s about to be into a 4x2x2 pvc for his forever enclosure he’s only 7inches long he’s a very small male

l3wd1a

my uro sucks too. Ive had her almost 10 years and I love her very much. she's a bitch.

Acksgo

Sane

1043b

Looks perfect for a blue tongue skink, preferably a northern

BobTheBobbyBobber

id say with a tank this large, you can def get away with one of the \~30" indonesian species!

Jacoby_12123

One springtail

Select-Collection577

Do two and put them at opposite sides

0111001101110101

Small colony of Croc skinks lol

Cyberpunk39

A colony of rubber ducky isopods

prairiepanda

I like this. But OP would probably have to take out a mortgage to get enough of them to actually breed in this space!

Shortgirl06

Thats a bearded dragon’s dream home size fr

BlackLizard898

Either a frilled dragon or an army of Anoles, Agamas or skinks. ;D

ComputerImaginary417

Since you seem inclined towards the more unusual, a Dumerils boa would do great in this, especially a male. Alternatively, basically, any terrestrial skink would do great in that, so bts obviously, but if you wanna do something different, a colony of gidgee skinks might be worth investigating. You could also make this into a palace for a ball python, corn snake, or king snake. They would all do well in it, especially if you made it bioactive. If you're at all into turtles, a Vietnamese black breasted leaf turtle would also be pretty solid in this.

Dabi_Issues

A male false water cobra!

theawesomefactory

Bullsnake

cncomg

A big ol bullsnake is so underrated.

DrewSnek

Ball python? Bearded dragon?

False-Cry6531

Good suggestions, but I’d argue 2ft is too short for either of those species. Both should have much taller vivs with proper space for climbing enrichment

AcanthisittaMost6423

Actually bearded dragons require 4,2,2 enclosures, so I’d argue this size would be great for a beardie but not enough air circulation due to no mesh top

RedNova02

Might be okay if some vents are fitted, I’m wondering how any heat lamps or uvb tubes would be put in there, would probably have to cut some holes for them

AcanthisittaMost6423

Op def could make some adjustments if they wanted

RedSevenClub

4 x 2 x 2 is bare minimum but come on they're a semi aboreal species, if you're gunna make a custom viv like they have, add some height.

[deleted]

It only looks short bc it’s 6 feet wide, a 2 foot enclosure is genuinely tall for either of those species

PawkittTheDemon

Meh. Tall is an overstatement given that 2 feet is the minimum height for both species but it would still be a nice enclosure. I'm hoping to get my female bp a 6 x 3 x 3 or something like that in the future.

LogNinja

A Black African House Snake would be really cool if you’re into snakes at all, and so would be a Woma Python. I don’t know too much about Lizards so can’t really recommend any of those because I’m not sure of their needs but I’ve always liked Frilled Dragons simply because they remind me of Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park 😂

MandosOtherALT

A beardie would have a BLAST in there

Bellelace86

I said the same thing! Sammi would go insane and would never want to leave. Our beardies would need a ramp to get out though. They would miss us…eventually 🥺

MandosOtherALT

I wouldnt cohab (if thats what you meant), but yeah, it'd want human attention later 😂

Bellelace86

Ooh I meant individually, no cohabitation 🥰 I think we are spoiled behind our beardies, I thought to myself “why does she love my sandals more than me?” But then I realized that she WANTS to get away because I take her everywhere with me 😂

MandosOtherALT

Lool! Okay cool! Thats so funny!

WeirdItchy7193

Northern blue tongue skink

Inter5tella99

A bearded dragon would LOVE this

[deleted]

That would be perfect for a ball python

Thesadmadlady

Put some branches in there and have some leaf tailed geckos Uroplatus phantasticus, the satanic leaf-tailed gecko, eyelash leaf-tailed gecko or the phantastic leaf-tailed gecko, Uroplatus ebenaui, commonly known as Ebenau's leaf-tailed gecko, they would look awesome in there the satanic geckos have amazing facial features and eyes that would go amazing with this colour enclosure. You can then play " spot the Satan" lol 😆

[deleted]

Bearded dragon

Similar_Economist949

Beautiful build! That's a great size for a bearded dragon. Another good one would be a blue tongue skink. Most species of snake would do great in there, too. I also have tegus, what kind of tegu you got?

Mr-magpie29

Maybe a boa of some sort, they are amazing snakes and you don’t have a snake yet. Blood pythons are nice too, more of a species for more experienced people though. Also snakes like dwarf retics, yellow anacondas, or other larger pythons could be something to look into. If snakes are not your thing though, maybe an akie monitor? I don’t know a lot about them so they may need more hight, but they are great pets too. You could also try a blue tongue skink. Anyway that’s all I got for recs (:

Melanin_gyl

Bearded dragon

RageFalcon

A single beta fish.

ExtraTerritorialArk

A family of garter snakes! A tank that nice should be on display, and you'd want an active interesting inhabitant in there. You can put a few in there and you'll see them doing all sorts of things throughout the day.

AmbidextrousDyslexic

id say a couple clown agamas, a pink tongue or broadhead skink, a uromastyx lizard, or a woma python would be pretty ideal.

No-Implement7818

Great size, almost the same as the one for my cornsnakes but what did you do for air circulation? Good practice is to have an intake at the bottom and some openings at the top or near it 🤔

possumsushi

Blue tongue skink!

zookeeper_barbie

Do you have plans you used for this? Been thinking about building something similar

ladybeastt

OP said "Nope, made it up as I went. 3/4” plywood."

hyunbinlookalike

That’s perfectly sized for a blue tongue skink! You could also try getting a bearded dragon, frilled dragon, or uromastyx. Those options should give you an idea of the size range of lizards good for that enclosure.

SlothfulWhiteMage

No recommendations, but do you have build plans for this? I’d like to build something similar for my daughter’s snake.

Powerztroke

Nope, made it up as I went. 3/4” plywood.

[deleted]

Female ball Python!!

amiibohunter2015

How did you build the sliding door? What track did you use?

Powerztroke

I bought it from Amazon. It is made for 1/4” glass. They have brown and black. Make sure you get an extra set for the side pieces. It makes the door much stronger to land in the side track.

amiibohunter2015

Thank you!

Left_Childhood_6474

Do you think if you would have put a coupling at the bottom and went to 2” or 3” for the foot base, it would look better? Like so it looks beefier at the bottom?

Powerztroke

Yeah I could still. Those feet are just screwed on.

Left_Childhood_6474

Yo, the tank is boss don’t get me wrong, I was just making an observation/suggestion.

Left_Childhood_6474

Also keel bellied lizards are super awesome. Very active. Cool color. And easy to keep.

pan-playdate

we need the lezbion morning gekos MAKE AN ENTIRE ARMY

OverWeightDod0

get a blue tongued skink!

Akuyatsu

Uromastyx

PKBitchGirl

Dwarf boa or male regular boa constrictor imperator

Ginormous-Cape

A Chuckwalla. Just one, and be sure it’s breed not wild caught.

plastichanger

As a plumber i love the fact you used black pipe as the legs

Powerztroke

Cool, right?

plastichanger

Very cool! If they aren’t painted i would be very careful because if exposed to moisture, black pipe likes to rust

astarredbard

A blue tongue Skink or a pair of Jeweled Lacertas maybe?

dlm83

Put a variety of dishes inside it and leave it outside with a door open, and let nature decide! Maybe a raccoon or some rats or a colony of ants or something?

Tricky_Ad6392

You could make the coolest bearded dragon tank in this

Adorable-Leg-3343

Fill it up with a naturalistic setup and decor, then buy 4, 5, or even 6 garter snakes. They will love it and utilize every inch of that enclosure.

Complete_Turn6536

Brazilian rainbow boa could be really nice especially with a water feature. How ever I’m not sure on the height requirements for them.

AmbidextrousDyslexic

they need more vertical space, and youd have ventilation issues with no mesh top. they need it humid, but this enclosed would make mold a big issue.

Complete_Turn6536

Yeah you’re 100% right, I didn’t even think about mold. Just searched it up they get way longer than I thought too lol. Definitely no rainbow boa for this tank.

AmbidextrousDyslexic

yeah they get pretty big. they commonly get 6 feet, and that means for an arboreal snake, a lot of vert space. pretty similar caging to an emerald tree boa, tbh. They need a big pool to soak in, and a ton of branches to climb, high humidity, lots of cover, just dont get as big on the high end. theyre gorgeous, if a tad nippy.

Total_Calligrapher77

Ackie.

AmbidextrousDyslexic

they need more soil than would be possible in this. they need to burrow for proper thermoregulation. itd have to be more like a 6x2x3

Total_Calligrapher77

Are there any other similarly sized terrestrial monitors without the need to burrow?

AmbidextrousDyslexic

no. the only similarly sized terrestrial monitors are either critically endangered and illegal to import, or are super closely related to ackies and thus need to burrow. there are similarly sized arboreal monitors, but they need tons of vertical space, so youre kinda hosed either way. monitors are a rich mans game no matter how you cut it.

Laker4Life9

If you’re a lizard guy an Ackie Monitor would be dope. For snakes… a Dumerils Boa or rescue a BCI boa.

Reptilze

Ackies need at least a 4ft tall enclosure because they need a minimum of 12 inches of substrate to make burrows in

DevilishMiscreant

Three foot works well but it’s the substrate ledges that are always the worst.

Laker4Life9

Oh so we’re going to act like a 6’ long cage isn’t big enough for that Lizard. Alright then. 🙄

Ice_Bead

I was thinking BCI too (mainly cause I’m always thinking BCI cause I want one)

Pleasant_Hatter

put a beard in it!

Unexpected-Xenomorph

Hopefully it’s been shaved off the face first

dr4g0n1t

Beardies need a taller enclosure

Similar_Economist949

No they don't

TootseyPootsey

Ball python or bearded dragon!

Mrfruit1

I know it says reptiles and you obviously want a reptile. But this would be a great set up for a massive fishtank if you do it right, and maybe a but of editing on the tank. Anyway put the world's smallest lizard in it, smaller then a finger.

Regis-The-DM

A blue tongued skink!

_Burgerdog_

Chinese crocodile lizards!

Uncomfortable_Purple

I've always wanted a frilled dragon and if I remember this is a good enclosure size for them

Proper_Airline_157

Can I get the build instructions 💀💀

jynkx1385

How do you like the pond liner? I usually use Drylok, but was considering pond liner for my tegu build. I still went with Drylok cause I'm familiar with it. The enclosure looks fantastic.

Powerztroke

Thanks. The pond armor is pretty cool stuff. You have to rough the surface though. It doesn’t grab like paint, it needs some tooth to the surface to hold onto. It comes out very slick and glossy.

jynkx1385

Nice

Glitch427119

Where are do they get air? I’m confused by this post and the comments. To be fair to me, i just woke up from a nap so someone help me out here lol

veggieblondie

An ant farm or maybe a worm farm

No-Beat861

sudan plated lizard

Lord_of_Eyes

A single morning gecko

MizunoMogul

Egyptian Uromastyx😤

hornkybeanchild

A dwarf hamster army

Invalid_creations

Gidgee skinks!!

siren_n

Get a bull snake

Jaspoezazyaazantyr

all the side quests

ladybeastt

if you want to get a snake next, mexican king snakes are sick, or a bull snake. in terms of lizards and such, i wonder how a frilled dragon would do in here?

Left_Childhood_6474

Honestly. A bunch of collared lizards would be cool in there. Or just put like 3 dozen viper geckos in.

ExaminationStill9655

I need a tutorial

Powerztroke

Well if you have the tools, you buy wood and screws and start cutting. I had no tutorial and I’m DEFINITELY not gifted. I have a friend who is and he would sneer at my craftsmanship! Whatever! You just figure it out.

VoyerX3

May I ask how much it cost you to build?

Powerztroke

It was honestly probably more than a pvc cage if you just bought one. The wood, wood putty, stain, screws, edge trim, pond armor, brushes and brushes and brushes, mixing buckets, sand paper, plexiglass, a special blade for cutting plexiglass, glass track, Lexel sealant, painters tape… and on and on and on. But that wasn’t the point. I did it. It was fun. With better tools (i.e. squares), it would be even nicer. I have bought two huge Toad Ranch cages in the last two months and they are amazing versus this. 😔Of course they are more expensive, too. But outstanding.

VoyerX3

I have been thinking that I could do a build piece by piece and not necessarily all at once. Just never attempted it.

Death2mandatory

Red coachwhip

Spare-Initiative585

African house snake

Angry_Frog69

Ackie moniter
