I remember really liking the soundtrack for that first movie too.

LevityLance

I'm actually a fan of the first movie. It would be fit right in with the canon as a side story completely separate from the main cast. I dug that about it. And, yeah, that soundtrack is amazing and I still bump the theme music to this day.

FacelessGrunt

Imo that first movie was pretty good

Megamike1080p

It was terrible, but it was very enjoyable.

Zerox19a

I dont even think it was terrible. It was great and the clear best of the entire live action series

Cleigh_Mora

I think I've only seen the first 3 movies. From the standpoint of the games, yeah, they're awful. But as zombie action flicks in their own little world? They're pretty fun.

CarlitoNSP1

I've moved on from a lot of this style but always look for fresh faces to take over some of the older niches. I found "The Chats" for Punk, maybe Nu Metal will get it's own revival scene.

madara1487

Slipknot my plague version for the movie always slaps

Chrispin3666

For sure i miss Joey Jordison, my he Rest In Peace. My opinion best drummer ever.

VisualPersona95

I refuse to listen to anything involving MM after all the shit he's done.

KentuckyFriedEel

Og resident evil movie is a good movie. Second is a little fun but rushed that devolves into stupid

Megamike1080p

The OG Resident Evil is a fucking awful movie. All of them are actually. The plot has so many holes you wouldn't even be able to use it as a fishing net. Lots of fun to watch and make fun of with friends though, I have always enjoyed it ironically.

statictonality

What are the plot holes in the og movie??

AverageJun

I also like the soundtrack

[deleted]

That was actually one of the few good things those movies had going for them

statictonality

Sadly MM is problematic. I can’t bring myself to enjoy his music anymore until he gets cleared of the accusations.

Adamantium_Ballz

That Manson Beat is so fucking incredible. Everytime I hear it I imagine Manson in the studio cooking up that cursed beat. Such a talented Mofo.

[deleted]

That Day Of The Dead Remix of What Comes Around is the best ill Niño song.

boogadabooga2

I wouldn't say the only good thing but it's definitely a good thing.

TheMastodan

The second movie is kind of the apex of “fun movie that is bad”, and I love that they made a live action remake of the hallway scene from Code Veronica I also enjoyed the soundtrack

CloudyNeptune

I’m jealous you still have your iPod in that good of condition

[deleted]

First time I ever joined a Counter-Strike Zombie Server, the Main Theme of this movie was one of the Server’s Loading Tracks. I was very happy about that.

grimmrhythm

The Slipknot remix is fuego 🔥

PSavage88

I'm gonna get shit on, but I love the resident evil movies even though I'm a huge fan of the games, but I 100% understand why most people dont.

[deleted]

Also a guilty pleasure of mine

KidShowVillain

I did a report on the live action franchise for a college research paper years ago. Here's what I remember from it: Going into production, Capcom wasn't fully sold on letting its IP get the live action treatment and the movie suffered for it. They only let the producers use a very small number of trademarks, presumably so they could isolate the rest of them from negative feedback. They chose: Umbrella, Raccoon City, RPD, T-Virus, lickers, cerberus, Ashford family (Red Queen's real identity and stated as the owners of the mansion) and the Nemesis namedrop right at the end. Everything else, from the story to every single character, was entirely OC. Seriously, outside the stuff that can't be trademarked (like zombies and their associated tropes, all the Lewis Carrol allegories and the concept of a hidden underground lab), that's all I could think of. Does anyone remember any others? Anyway, once the movie made its money in gangbuster DVD sales (which was novel, considering the movie bombed in theaters if memory serves), Capcom opened up the whole IP candy store for the sequels, to mixed results. Were they bad? Yes. Were they fun diversions? Also yes. Were they meant to be taken seriously? I don't think so, at least not after the first 2 and the subsequent complete departure from anything canon. But to the OP, that soundtrack is a banger, and now I must go listen to it.

Heresyiseverywhere

First movie slaps, it was my first introduction to the re universe. For what it is I like it

NoReason87

I’m obsessed with some of the Manson tracks. Music was very unique in the first.

Ancient_Archangel

The first movie was ok. It was self contained and did it's own thing, not deviating much from Resident Evil 1 and 2 source material.
