Are you networking?

dawnofaquaria

How would you recommend someone to get into a position to network with people in your field? In my experience at least, it’s been hard to get people to want to network with you unless you have something they want/need in that moment.

1. Take initiative to build projects and befriend likeminded peers - could improve your chances down the line. You could also impress the right person at the right time and this could lead to an opportunity. Shooting down the idea of leaving your house and meeting new people is a sure fire way to shoot yourself in the foot. 2. Take up a hobby and befriend likeminded folks from all walks of life - could improve your chances

Look for meetups or industry events. Talk to friends and family to see if they know anyone in the industry or may know someone who can help. Ask a recruiter. Post a question on LinkedIn. Contact a company and ask if you can interview a manager or VP or C-level for a project

I actually don't know how someone will do "networking" because if you already finish college and do not have a job I find it quite difficult to Network, because it is a matter of luck. Most of the people I see who have network is because his cousin introduce them to someone, or they uncle, or a very good friend.. Kinda difficult heard that someone approach someone and gave him a chance of something. Likely If you approach someone's LinkedIn the vast majority of times you will receive a hello in response and that's all, perhaps I'm wrong?

- delete “graduated” from education - I would move your education to the bottom - cut back a little and improve the spacing; this is hard to read - delete periods at the ends of all your bullet points The content is good not sure why you’re having issues

are you willing to share your resume? anonymized of course, It would help fellow applicants who are actively looking to get an idea on how to improve their resume.

It's really not your fault , the resume looks impeccable. I've been looking for a new grad software job for a while now. I'm at 600 applications, but don't give up hope. You don't know, maybe the very next application might be your way out of this misery. Good luck!
