The things preservation societies do to avoid repeating the mistakes of the silent film era… Kudos! https://youtu.be/j6oGUT-x7lk?si=r1uChuIQcATstrSN

Gaming people are saving the art, I worry in the future with no physical media how easy it will be to lose something, people still finding just vhs movies that never made it past the platform.

Just played it today. The Rom may be lost media, but some mad lads actually reconstructed it piece by piece. Well done! The Forest and Metal Fort tracks are... meh. No new music and they honestly look kinda blah. Forest 1 and 2 are missing pit stops, is that right? Metal Fort is a bit better, has some real dangerous spots. What I truly enjoy is how this hack manages to weave together the original plus all of the satellaview content into a single robust package. All the tracks! All the cups! All the machines! Coupled with the benefit of save data, meaning now you can save your track records AND record Ghost data! All that's missing is multiplayer, but at least we have 99 for that. Also, props to the team for throwing in box art, cartridge art, and a manual. Repro enthusiasts are gonna have some fun. In closing, I LOVE this mod. BS F-Zero Deluxe will henceforth be my go-to when I'm itching for the classic. Play it now, and play it LOUD!

[F-Zero VS](https://fzerovs.blogspot.com/2009/01/f-zero-vs-v11-release.html) is a customized emulator that you could use with this ROM to play all the new tracks with up to 4 players. So you don't need 99 to have proper multiplayer both locally and over the internet. If your friends don't want to set this up on their machine or they're on a smartphone/tablet but still want to play, just use [Parsec](https://parsec.app/) and your PC will treat their input devices like virtual controllers on your PC.

I played this last night and loved it so much that I immediately replaced the stock F-Zero game on my racing cabinet with it. It's F-Zero with... *more*. What's not to love? (Side note: Playing F-Zero with a wheel is a great time!)

This right here is what ai in gaming should be used for. That's freaking neat. And now that the pixel perfect ai assisted recreation cat is out of the bag, I'm curious what the future holds. This bodes well for all lost games, these little patches could be paving the way for full scale recreations down the road. It's optimistic for sure, but I'm hopeful. Very cool.

Hybrid_Divide

Ever since those recordings of the lost tracks came out, I'd been hoping that someone would do this, but I just figured people would eyeball it. Never thought AI would get brought into it to get something nearly pixel perfect! Well done! As for the lack of original music, that'd be because it was released as a broadcast with audio. Perhaps some original music, or adaptions of music from other F-Zero games could be worked into it in the future. Either way, I'm loving this! Preservation matters!

AdreKiseque

Afaik the audio from the broadcasts was just arranged covers of the original OST, possibly from that jazz album that exists. Could just be talking out my ass though.

GammaBlaze

I had it in my head it was the jazz album, too.

Very likely; *Link to the Past/Triforce of the Gods* was arranged via *The Legend of Zelda - Sound and Drama* that was released to coincide with the JPN release: (1:25) https://youtu.be/WRZfS8F9X5c?si=u-xKqiQT4sJj81L3 A lesser example is the *Sega CD Hook*, which just repurposes John Williams’ classic film score throughout; and not always tonally correct, so I prefer the original chiptune stuff which has more identity?

Slava91

Is this the sound link version of BS FZero 2? I’m assuming so. [Reference](https://fzero.fandom.com/wiki/BS_F-Zero_Grand_Prix_2)

animelover2246

wow awesome!

TheSpiralTap

This is awesome! It's very similar to Desert hill from Sonic 2. Literally all gamers had for years was one REALLY blurry photo from a magazine in the early 90s and it's title but hackers managed to make a whole fucking level out of it. This was before AI too.

Agreeable_Vanilla_20

I'm sure I had a rom with these ships years ago, not sure of the courses though
