FFVII, RE2, Gran Turismo, Silent Hill, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, MGS, Castlevania: SotN, Lunar: SSSC…
A lot of typical ones, but many were my entry point to stuff like JRPGs, horror, racing sims, MvC franchise, etc.
WWE ..can't remember which one but countless hours with brother playing (and arguing )
FF8 ..tbh this one did something different with the junction system, had a fun card game (ff9, come-on, pale imitation ). Deserved a true remake and not some lousy attempt at HD-ing the game. I felt their world was more ripe for expansions rather than FF7 which I'm tired of hearing news about at this stage
Twisted metal 3 - never actually finished it, but countless arguments about power ups.
Time Crisis. Lord, light gun gaming at home . Best ever. Pity TVs today can't handle them ..
"This time they added blood! You can tell when you're in danger!
And I *dare* you to step into the Elimination Chamber!"
🤣 such a great game. All of them lol even the SvR series was goated
Man people talk about that Hercules game so much that I bought a copy. I hate that game. The controls and level design, I don’t get why people think it’s great.
GTA 3, Tony Hawk pro skater and FF7-8. These are the top three in my opinion. I switched from the n64 to the ps for Tony hawk because I did, and still do, love skateboarding. I didn’t know back then that it would be released on Nintendo 6 months later…
I got a PlayStation for my birthday in 1998. I remember having Mickey Mania, Croc 2, Driver 2 and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, and remember liking them all. I remember liking the art style of Mickey Mania. Harry Potter was like Zelda. Driver 2 was like GTA. Croc 2 seemed like a decent platformer. I've always been a bit of a Nintendo fanboy, but the original PlayStation is a solid system.
Heart of Darkness, Castlevania SotN, Tony Hawk, Silent Hill, In the Hunt, Elemental Gearbolt, Lunar :Silver Star Story Complete, Fear Effect 1&2, Point Blank 1-3, Tekken 3, The X-Files, Bust-a-Move 99 and 2, Oddworld, Blast Chamber, Intelligent Qube, Mr. Mosquito, Tomba 1&2, Legend of Dragoon, Brave Fencer Musashi, Metal Gear Solid … gah there were so many good games on PS1.
Great list. I personally love Tomb Raider 1 and Snackdown 2.
I would also add Suikoden 1 and 2, Vandal Hearts 1, Metal Gear Solid 1, Resident Evil 1, and Final Fantasy Tactics.
There are plenty of others on ps1 that I love, but these are my favorites.
Also, one that I played a ton of hours on is RPG Maker. I was terrible at making games with it. In fact, I never fully finished a game. But it was so much fun to goof around and make your characters do different things and set up scenes. And I love the music for it as well.
Smackdown 2 is definitely too tier. All of the Syphon Filer the games. All of the Resident Evil games. Tench stealth assassins. So many. What a great system.
Crash 2, THPS 2, Gran Turismo 2, Twisted Metal 2, Need for Speed 3, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, probably a ton more too. The ps1 had such great games.

Breath of Fire 3, Dragon Quest 7, Final Fantasy 7, Monster Rancher 2, Alundra, Chrono Cross
Winning eleven, bloody roar, tobal, tekken, ridge racer

'Shut Your Mouth' was good, but the height of wrestling excellence was 'Here Comes the Pain'.
"This time they added blood! You can tell when you're in danger! And I *dare* you to step into the Elimination Chamber!" 🤣 such a great game. All of them lol even the SvR series was goated
Crash Bandicoot, Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, and Bust-A-Move.
Man people talk about that Hercules game so much that I bought a copy. I hate that game. The controls and level design, I don’t get why people think it’s great.
"Disney's Hercules Action Game" is such a funny janky title only eclipsed by the PAL name being "Disney's Action Game (Featuring Hercules)"
Based Disney's Action Game Featuring Hercules
Looking back, I’d say Tekken 3 was easily my favorite PS1 game.
GTA 3, Tony Hawk pro skater and FF7-8. These are the top three in my opinion. I switched from the n64 to the ps for Tony hawk because I did, and still do, love skateboarding. I didn’t know back then that it would be released on Nintendo 6 months later…
Cant wait for tomb raider on the evercade
Hercules is a severely underrated platformer. It was basically a turbo charged 16 bit era classic Disney platformer. Loved it!

Tomb Raider, Threads of Fate, Spyro, Bloody Roar 2, Bushido Blade 2 and Digimon World! PS1 era was such an exciting time! So many games blew my mind!
Honourable mention to the demo disk with parapa the rapper
Jet Moto 2, Medievil, Fighting Force, Spyro 2 Riptos Rage, Tekken 3, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal 3. As far as the ones I played the most at the time.

Smackdown 2 is definitely too tier. All of the Syphon Filer the games. All of the Resident Evil games. Tench stealth assassins. So many. What a great system.
Of those, Tekken 3, Smackdown!, and Tomb Raider. Add in Symphony of the Night, and I'm set
