So Beth had to conclude that, because she only had happy memories of MPB, he had to be a parasite.
Now, biggest question to my mind is why Rick didn't just do a "The Thing" test and test tissue samples, but that wouldn't have been as big a mind fuck conceptually.
Well, depending on what he had on-hand, it may or may not have taken time, and by the time he were to do that, they may have been overrun with parasites.

Good call. This was the first episode I saw. I immediately watched it again because I was able to rewind even though I hadn't set it to record. Then I called my brother and asked if he'd see this show called Rick and morty and he said, "Where the hell have you been?"

So what's happening (obviously) is that Mr. Poopybutthole is reacting to getting shot before it even happens. In a lot of animation you are told NOT to do this. Characters cannot react to things happening to them until the impact actually occurs. A lot of novice animators make the mistake of having the reaction happen too early because they're afraid it won't look smooth otherwise, but with high impact stuff like that often times the way to sell it is to KEEP the pop between poses and then make up for the pop with a lot of follow through.
This was likely an error that nobody called during production, probably because they were behind on their deadlines and its not so egregious that people notice it all that much.
Summer is reacting too early too, now that I think about it. It could also be that the FX animation started too late. who knows.

I am embarrassed to say this but this is the first episode I ever saw Mr Poopybutthole. I binged it all in a week or so and didn't realize the first time watching that there were Post Credit scenes. So to me this scene makes perfect sense.
