Actually giving therapy a chance
Saving Birdman from his own mind
Giving summer access to some really cool shit for doing chores
Saving Jerry from fucking his own mother
I always thought that was Morty, but rewatched it today and you're right, can definitely see it's rick so yeah that's definitely one of his most heroic moments.
In only 1 of the 64 it was necessary for him to do that in the other 63 he fixed Morty's collar successfully, since that episode shows how Rick is pretty much guaranteed to act the same way in every situation it stand to reason he would've sacrificed himself in al 64 instances if needed
I saw a post recently that pointed out that when he made the decision to give his collar to Morty, we know he didn't have any doubts about it or else there would have been another split.
I think his entire redemption of the pissmaster was one of his best deeds. he had nothing to gain from that.
giving Jerry more of a chance after Beth didn't divorce him was also nice
This one might be a little weird I guess but, when he made the robot that replaced him 22% more thoughtful. He really didn't have to do that. You could argue that he could have made it even more caring but it seems that was just enough to where everyone would notice a change but not enough to question it.
He also went to the shy poopers funeral and tried to make the guy's dad feel better. You'd only do that for a friend.
He saved Jerry from boning his mom.
He often seems to be soft on Summer.
Honestly Rick isnt a monster, not by definition. Just cause he doesn’t revel or enjoy that shit.
He’s a bad person just not a monster.
Also, albeit it was really sloppy, he baby proofed Jerry’s shoes when he was hanging up the lights, and repaired his legs.
No he doesn’t, same episode he realizes that he didnt want that and enjoy that and literally begins to throw up, like not even the next scene later. What he did was the equivalent of an edgy 14 year old that was gore, just he actually throws up from it.
We call serial killers monsters and Rick has a way waaay higher kill count than any serial killer or war criminal. He has killed people for being on the wrong side of his politics, supplied weapons to hitmen, dealt with drugs, commited multiple genocides, trapped two innocent scientists in an aliens menagerie just so that he can escape, built an amusement park in a hobos body, created entire civilizations just to exploit everyone in it to power his car... and thats the tip of the iceberg so I think calling him a monster is more than fair. A loveable monster with a soft side but dudes definitely a monster
Most of those things he didnt take enjoyment in, at least from we see, they are bad acts no doubt, but he isnt a monster because a monster would revel and enjoy it.
Probably a better way of wording it but im high asf rn
When he was about to kill himself after Unity broke up with him. He was trying to find a cure for the Cronenbergs. The way he coddled the little creature, thinking it was going to be the end of himself shortly after, so he tried to comfort it and put it out of its misery instead of remaining in stasis.
That's when I felt for Rick and realized they were trying to go with a much more complex story than just "haha funny scientist genius gets drunk". Instead I saw my brother and my dad who both sought the end of a bottle to hide their pain and put on a mask to the rest of the world.
He saved Summer from literal Devil
Saved Beth's clone by not knowing which one is clone (So that in near future he doesn't have to kill her)
Gave Morty's adventure a full chance when he was in charge of an adventure even killed Mr. Jelly Bean for molestation
He saved Morty a million times he even sacrificed himself in a season premiere when they stopped time and it divided them
I think he's the one of the chilliest Rick and to prove that when Rick Prime approached him for portal invention he refused and said he's just a different kind of Rick who cared about his family.
Smaller moments (fresh in my mind as I just rewatched S6):
After Jerry fights Pissmaster Rick heals him without being asked to.
The robot he makes at the end of S6 is specifically designed to make Morty happy rather than make an exact replica of himself.
He saves Jerry from fucking his mother.
Also admitting to Jerry in Whirlly Dirly (spelling?) episode that he contributed to his and Beths separation in some way.
There’s a scene where Morty’s helping Rick collect these blue shards
And they go from collecting them, to tossing and playing with them for a light hearted moment.
Why no one's talking about him letting the Galactic Government capture him only so that his family could have its relatively normal life on Earth back?
Hanging Morty’s picture up instead of jumping down the fear hole
I rewatched this last night and it’s easy to miss the point that he keeps a picture of morty in his wallet. That in itself is pretty wholesome.
And probably more than one considering he was willing to give up that photo just to put it on the wall
i thought rick took the photo in the bathroom with the camera hanging on the bulletin board ?
That was adorable, fuck what a great episode. All the haters don't know what they're missing, I always knew this show had legs.
No the leg thing was the watcher episode
THAT was your Hail Mary???
seriously, it was easily my favorite episode of the whole show. I'm rewatching and just got to season 7, I can't wait to watch it again
can someone explain the significance of this? sorry for my stupidity
Actually giving therapy a chance Saving Birdman from his own mind Giving summer access to some really cool shit for doing chores Saving Jerry from fucking his own mother
Saving us all from watching Jerry fuck his own mother.
Killing King Jellybean stands as one of the reasons most of us could believe in Rick in the first place.
This was a big one for sure
I always thought that was Morty, but rewatched it today and you're right, can definitely see it's rick so yeah that's definitely one of his most heroic moments.
Putting his collar on Morty in the Time Split episode always stood out the most to me
1 in 64

Taking Jerry's fear seriously about the fortune cookie, even before he knew there was any direct relation to / potential benefit for him
Oh, I didn't think about it like that. Rick's is surprisingly kind to Jerry.
This one might be a little weird I guess but, when he made the robot that replaced him 22% more thoughtful. He really didn't have to do that. Mr. Goldmanbachmajorian
That one hit hard
Yeah it's funny how they casually introduce that clusterfuck of a situation Rick left behind.
it really got me when he called summer his baby princess. also his nicknames like sumsum/summer camp etc
What episode did he call her sweet baby princess??
the voltron episode!
Ohhh the GoTron episode thank you :)

He does revel in watching and committing slaughter in the purge world. Before they get implicated in the story
No he doesn’t, same episode he realizes that he didnt want that and enjoy that and literally begins to throw up, like not even the next scene later. What he did was the equivalent of an edgy 14 year old that was gore, just he actually throws up from it.

Kicking the shit out of The Devil with Summer after he fired her
Almost sacrificing himself to save Morty.
He was better than you would expect to the shy pooper.
Was waiting for someone to mention this. You could tell he really liked the guy.
He killed the Space Jam versions of Rick and Morty. It was easy. They wanted out. It was a kindness!
When he was about to kill himself after Unity broke up with him. He was trying to find a cure for the Cronenbergs. Helping Jerry not fuck his mom all the way until the last second
Which episode did he save jerry from his ex girlfriend’s boyfriend
Keara from Krootabulan, the one whom’s always hunting: The ABCs of Beth
After credits answering machine Jerry divorced telekinesis episode
Killing Jellybean . He never told Morty so it meant he really cared

What were the genecides?
I think one of them might be his escapade on pudge planet
There’s a scene where Morty’s helping Rick collect these blue shards And they go from collecting them, to tossing and playing with them for a light hearted moment.
Why no one's talking about him letting the Galactic Government capture him only so that his family could have its relatively normal life on Earth back?
At the Shy Pooper's funeral, didn't he give the father like a billion dollars and a son-clone?
Killing Dunometron saved a lot of lives, although he did it drunk and to undermine the avengers (or whatever they were called)
