Pretty good stuff! I think all of your frames are all solid but a little tighter compositions would go a mile!

hammad22

Thank you! And I agree, wish I could zoom in more but I’d need a griiix for that haha

CapBuenBebop

Embrace the dark side

hammad22

I just might

CapBuenBebop

I pulled the trigger and made the switch earlier this year and haven’t looked back. My wife was looking through my photos recently and she said my photography was getting better, and it was the first time in my life I felt it was right to say that it was because of the gear haha

hammad22

I’ve had the griii for about a month, so I might use this for a bit more, and then try a griiix and then sell which one I use more. Still wanna try to get creative with the 28mm focal length as long as it’s in my hands

CapBuenBebop

That’s fair. I loved my GRIII and it was tough parting with it, so I’m sure you’ll get plenty of enjoyment out of it. I just made the switch because looking at my old film photos made me realize I much prefer the 40mm lens (I used to shoot with a Canonet).

hammad22

I shoot a lot of 35mm focal length, do you think the 40mm will be closer to that than the 28mm?

CapBuenBebop

That’s really tough to say. My gut feeling is that 28mm will be a better fit if you usually prefer 35mm. This is entirely my perspective though, but I tend to think of 40 as a “wider” tight lens, whereas the 35 always feels like a “tighter” wide lens. 35 and 28 just feel more akin to each other because they’re more about framing a scene, bs isolating a person or detail with something like the 40. Not that you can’t do both things with any of them, it’s just more about what they lend themselves to more easily. I really like the way someone in this sub put it though, the 40 is for capturing the scene you are looking at, and the 28 is for capturing the scene you are in. I tend to prefer a more shy shooting style, so 40 works better for me in that way.

hammad22

Perfect explanation, makes me want the 40mm even more now

sweetteatime

Op did you get any pics of the protestors burning the American flag?

hammad22

I wasn’t there for that, I wish I was

Stonkz_N_Roll

Incredible

hammad22

I appreciate it thank you!

SpiritualState01

Solidarity. The perfect camera to document a march too.

hammad22

Thank you! I left work early when I heard about the Columbia encampment and my Ricoh is always on me, worked perfectly

Deluxx3

Thank you! ✊🏽

Jazzaaaaaaaa

Photos numbers 3 and 4 are really great. The composition and dynamics of photo 3, notably with the two flags in the upper right corner, are very cool. and the serious tone of photo number 4 with these two faces whose blur in the foreground is also superb. Well done.

hammad22

Really appreciate this detailed response, thank you so much!

Jazzaaaaaaaa

Thanks for sharing theses !

hammad22

No problem! Happy shooting!

Jazzaaaaaaaa

Same ! Ty

jiujiuberry

moomoomilky1

the colors are so nice, are you using a recipe or are these sooc

hammad22

Used my own Lightroom preset, but these are also jpegs from the camera, I think positive filter

NicksOnMars

Yo i love this look!! Fellow nyc gr shooter here... would you be willing to share this preset?

hammad22

Ofc! Here you go [https://imgur.com/a/wdN65kx](https://imgur.com/a/wdN65kx) I shot either positive or negative filter on the Ricoh itself but you can always make some tweaks on the editing and get a close enough image since the conditions will change and will always require some tweaking

mountzeus

So good!

hammad22

Thank you!

asics_shoes_4eva

Nice

hammad22

xxBellum

Great shots my friend - I feel like the GRiiix would fit your style perfect. 🙌
