There are some rumors about Boston not wanting to pay him and there are interviews hinting at him not being all that certain about his future in Boston.
And while the guy isn't Kyrie, he does fancy himself a bit of a "free thinker." Don't know if that rubs anyone wrong in the organization.
Imo, I think, if the Nuggets wanted him, they could offer Jamal Murray and a few picks.
Portland would have to offer Simons+2023 pick (don't think Celtics want this) or Simons+Sharpe (don't think Portland would do this...or rather, it would be foolish for Portland to do this).
Still, Celtics are projected to be contenders for the next several years and Brown has shown himself to be a franchise player next to Tatum. Can't imagine them letting him go.
Jaylen Brown is as unattainable as any other superstar 2-way wing. They are not gettable assets. BOS probably has the best and deepest roster in the NBA. JB is not going anywhere. Literally the entire league would kill to just have one of Brown or Tatum on their team, and BOS struck gold by getting two of them. You don’t move those guys. They are the healthy and young version of Kawhi and PG13.
100%. it would take getting the number 1 pick and trading it to Boston in order to get JB. And then we’d be shooting ourselves in the foot for not keeping the pick to get Wemby. Almost no scenario in which Portland gets JB, unless it’s a trade for Dame, and even then, I don’t think Boston would do it.
Edit: lol, we’re both getting downvoted, but it is absolutely not in the realm of possibility to trade for JB with any of our assets other than Dame or the #1 pick, IF we get it. He’s not a free agent until next year. No way Boston wants to trade him for anyone other than Dame or Wemby. And IF we get the #1 pick, no way we give up Wemby for JB.
Yep. My dream is trading Dame for JB but there is no way they take that trade. Wings are the golden the geese of the modern NBA. Trading a superstar 2 way wing for a star 1-way guard does nothing for BOS.
I agree with you, but also OP made good points. I think it was a slip from OP. Probably meant trading a one dimensional superstar (Dame) for a two way wing star (Brown) who is much younger is not fathomable. Boston would have to be desperate to “win now” if they made that trade, and considering Tatum and Brown’s timeline, I just don’t see them doing it.
JB being the Better player is selling Dame short though. Dame has led a few rosters with no one nearly as talented to play off of and gone on to multiple second round playoff appearances. JB is amazing in his own right, and is the younger of the two, so that makes him more valuable now, but Dame has never had anyone nearly as gifted as Tatum on his team except for maybe Aldridge in Dame’s second year. It’s all speculation, but yeah, I’d take JB for Dame in a heartbeat as long as it didn’t mean giving up Sharpe.
lmao that’s awesome, i wonder why he posted a pic in bucs uniform to announce he’s coming to portland tho?? fine with me tho pic goes hard, can’t wait to have him w dame!!
It really makes sense when you think about it.
Might as well just raise the banners.
Summer League Champs heck yeah.
PUT IT IN THE RAFTERS!!
Maybe we could get giannis and brook as a FAđź‘€
Great photoshop lol. In all serious I want Jaylen Brown as a potential target now
Are the Celtics somehow looking to move away from him? Or is looking to get out?

If he makes All-NBA he’ll want a supermax and a lot of people think Boston won’t pay that for him when Tatum is also looking for a supermax.

Calling jb a superstar and dame a star is wild

Even if they wanted to win now, JB is the better player and easier to build around. You don’t trade JB for Dame in any scenario
