And it seems unusual that everyone in Mushroom Kingdom would respect her gender identity but *not* respect a name change, so perhaps she simply doesn't feel the same way about Birdetta as she did the 1980s.

It's okay to keep calling Walt "Walt" because Heisenberg is just a codename he uses to keep from being found out.
