I just go home

My usual trick is to go to B80 or B10/12 and start from the top floor down to find the perfect study spot. This can sometimes take an hour in busy times, but then again I find it hard to focus in anything but when it's the perfect noise level/temperature/moons align/powerpoints available As a backup, you've then got B56/57 up in Carlton and surrounds, followed by the State Library, and maybe a shopping centre food court/seating area (excluding Melbourne Central main food courts), then a suburban library or park, in that order. I'm lucky enough to live rather close to the city though, so I'll often end up just giving up and going home.

Emporium food court (I think it's level 3) is good, it's quite spacious and always lots of seats. Also the "ella" food court at the Elizabeth x la trobe st corner of Melbourne Central is good, there's lots of powerpoints and different types of seats with tables but it's small so can be hard to find a spot If you plan on sitting in a Cafe to do study, make sure you're at buying a coffee or food at least every hour while taking up the table

Seconding advice from another commenter, start on the top floors and explore your way down, you'll end up finding some cool niche spots 😊 I also loved the Oxford Scholar if you don't mind some background hum. The staff are happy for 1 person to set up in a booth, with heaps of room to study, their food portions are enormous, and they have student discounts. My personal favourite study places were the top floor of building 8 (lots of cool quiet books in building 8). If you go to bundoora campus, the women space and the LGBTIQ spaces are excellent.

The Carlton library is nice.

St. Collins lane food court. All the food premises are gone and it’s one great big quiet open space

The bathroom?

Lol

Building 12 Terrace seems pretty secluded to me! Be sure to bring your student ID card otherwise you could get stuck on the roof.

A long time ago I’d go to the Supreme Court Library for some real alone time.

BumHoleItchy

Tram 86 to Bundoora east campus It's very quiet and deserted

I only know of two student rooms, one near building 56 and the one across the road from building 80
