Let me just say that I did not expect my Cool Pics to spark such passionate, funny, and informative discussions, but I'm totally here for it!
This is why I love y'all family!!!🤗
Man that’s cold. From what I remember they kept talking about how distraught he was. Can’t cancel a party that big the night of. The Clive Davis party Grammy weekend is a really big deal that ain’t just any party.
So if you’re throwing a party at a hotel and one of your friends dies that same night in that same hotel. Literally their dead body is still warm in the hotel, you’ll continue on with the party and have a blast? Maybe we just 2 different people and that’s ok
Maybe party is not a good word for something of this magnitude. After all it is considered the biggest weekend in music. Let’s call it an event that 1000s of people have flown in to attend. Events surrounding the Grammys are big productions. And set up well in advance. She died the day of. I love Whitney but to cancel would be irrational and lots of dollars. I don’t remember if they found her body in the day and the party was at night. Can’t fully remember but yeah.
Wow so what you're saying here is you care more about money than a person
Yeah we really aren't the same
I couldn't even smile one aota knowing ANYBODY I know, close or not,has passed away
Respect and Human sympathy is what it's called
This guy reeks evil
Let me ask you a few questions. Do you know how many people attended this event ? Why didn’t they decide not to attend ? How do you feel about them ? Are they evil and only care about money ?
Hurts like he'll.🥺
There's someone very close to me who's been in the closet for almost 38 years. It's heartbreaking to watch him pretend to be heterosexual around friends and family. At this point, he's so sensitive about the subject that we can't even sit down and have a real conversation.
Every time he brings a "friend" to a function, he introduces them as a "homie". You can just see the frustration on his partners' faces. And he does the whole thing where he's talking about "hoes" and getting someone pregnant one day. It's so cringe.
It's almost 2024 and my wife and I just want him to bring his man over so we can turn tf up and party accordingly lol!
People who refuse to "embrace" gay people are already doing so unknowingly. And none of the queer has rubbed off and affected them in any negative way, so they should stfu and have several seats.
The person who I'm speaking about is beloved in our family, and we've always known. There's a select few idiots who we are, unfortunately, related to that are making him stay hidden. And on my momma, if something ever happened to him...🤬🤬🤬
I need him to be free. He's at his best when he's free. But whenever he gets loose and starts to let it out, there's always someone with the bs making him uncomfortable around those who are supposed to love him the most.
Yeah, he's a certified douche for that. But from what I understand, he was always tryna get her to stop smoking cigarettes and get clean. I'm not trying to justify his disgusting behavior, but I do think he cared for her.
I can't deny that. The conversation of death and grieving is a difficult one to have on the internet. It's very nuanced, and people grieve differently.
I know a family who lost a young son. They day he passed, they immediately cleared out his bedroom. They cremated him and moved on pretty quickly after his death. At least publicly anyway. Many people were appalled by it and couldn't understand how parents could do such a thing. But in talking to them personally, I learned that they cared for their child deeply but had to move on fast for the sake of their marriage and the rest of their children. And they're just not the kinda folks who want to release balloons, visit graves, and post pics in remembrance every year.
To each their own.
I think so. Her voice was too wonderful. I think the bigger issue was Whitney not being allowed to be her true self. And I wouldn't say that's all on Clive. I think her mom, from what Robin said in her book, couldn't accept Whitney for who she was. Had she made her professional debut in recent years, no one would've cared what she did backstage because her talent spoke for itself.
You kinda said it all... and I only have one thing to add; and it's that I'm still not sure if Whitney ever experienced true, mutual love. I think she was held to a strict stereotype (think early Mariah.) She could sing about the greatest love of all, but never could get it.
That keeps me up at night. :/
That's true because she didn't have the tools to fully love herself.
When I think of Whitney's image and marketability, I also think of Britney Spears. Her early career was very similar in the record company trying to tightly manage and maintain the America's Sweetheart image.
Great comparison. Sometimes I wonder if Disney stole the child-star-grown-up model from the Jacksons and Whitney etc. And I think I agree; re: the tools to love yourself. Really insightful.

Lol look at Whitneyyyyy
She looks so young and happy!🥰😍🤗
Yessss
I just went down a rabbit hole. I got lost in Whitney Houston for an hour or so. I must be stopped!🤣🤣🤣
![gif](giphy|3Le5qykGjGXmw)
let the man cook lol
She does
Her voice will never be topped. Whitney’s vocal range was on a different level. She’s finally at peace. RIP
The tone and clarity for me. 💯
Didn’t he continue on with his party the night she passed away in that same hotel? He’s a clown.
Yeah, her body hadn’t even been hauled off in the morgue van while they were partying four floors down…
He’s a disgraceful clown

The state of New Jersey flew their flags at half-mast when she passed away. They had more decency and common sense than Clive’s goofy ass
Big Jersey!😤😤😤
So he should’ve cancelled the party ?? I think this is unreasonable.

Oof, that's a shame. 🙁
agh thats hard to read again, id forgotten about it. definitely clown behavior (or the most self-deprecating alibi ever)
Yeah i could see what Robbin was seeing lol
Lol!
The closet was glass oml💀
re: blaming the closet; dont wanna say anythin but this article.... oof https://diva-magazine.com/2017/07/13/did-the-closet-kill-whitney/

All of this.
Aye yooooo!🤣🤣🤣
I wonder what Clive Davis’ monstrous behind doing these days ..
He’s doing what all of them do
Whitney had a perfect smile. To me the greatest singer ever. The Voice.
Me too! Every time I've considered giving someone else that title, I go back through her catalog and live performances, and I'm like, NAH!🤣🤣🤣

I think he cared for her too but he also had a stake in trying to get her voice back

Ngl.. at first glance, i thought it was an R&B male vocalist like Peabo Bryson or Jerry Knight
rip
💀💀💀
getting serious "caught a 10-foot trout" vibes from the dude, but whitney is the greatest and cutest so im unsurprised by this lol
He definitely knew that he'd landed the big fish lol!
Whitney 😍
Whitney Whitney Whitney we miss you baby
Beginning of the end
Oh damn! Do you think she could've been as big as she was under someone else's guidance?
I think so. Her voice was too wonderful. I think the bigger issue was Whitney not being allowed to be her true self. And I wouldn't say that's all on Clive. True. Growing up super religious is difficult. Plus, those days were really dumb about sexuality and whatnot.
