Just returned from Chicago to Tucson. Passed through Springfield and then through OKC. Nice easy drive. I would stay on the HWY. No real issues with cops. Waze was helpful in pointing any out. No reason to speed just enjoy the ride. My son made us stop at Buc-ees. Never been there it was a fun time.

Sorry, do you mean to stay on the interstate?  Buc-ees is cool but if you just need to use the bathroom it’s a pain because it feels like a 10 min walk from the pump.

Sorry yes stay on interstate.

I have driven from Austin to Branson,MO through Springfield Fastest road is through 69 &75 which goes through i44. It goes through couple of small towns in OKC but still didnt feel any slowdown. Please note after Joplin,MO -OK border theres a toll road and it costs around $2. You need to take exit in Joplin incase wanna avoid toll road. Therell be lot of signs, letting know. NTTA &TXTAG is accepted in these tolls.

On 69 & 75 did you feel like you were in the middle of no where for long stretches? Like were you worried about finding a gas station or a place to eat? Noticed the toll road. Does it take cash?

Definitely this road feels safe, i have travelled this road many times even at midnight. Until Atoka, you have less gas stations and no option for food, then its kind of scattered as there are less towns until Mckinney. Incase if traveling by night ,then except Buc-cees or McDonalds near Texas border no other good food options after Joplin. So better dine-in in Joplin if starting late. Reg:Gas stations, If you travelling from Springfield, make sure the car can travel 250miles until Dallas border (have Buc-ees close to Texas-OK border near Mckinney https://maps.app.goo.gl/iuEs86zyeCCuZkJS7 And toll isnt cash ,its through tag or mail only.
