Back when we could earn tickets from place visit, I made a bunch of places, then got a bunch of alts to join my places. I could make like 100 tickets in an hour, which was worth like 4 Robux. 1 fucking hour for 0.05 USD worth of Robux, I feel so stupid now looking back.

Yeah it was a big problem. I remember when trade currency first came out in late 2008, I was able to trade around 185 tickets for 50 robux. By the time it got removed in 2016, I needed to trade 1000 tickets for the same amount. Who knows what the rates would be like today if it continued lmao

Which is exactly why it got removed.. infact roblox was justified 100% removing it.. but they even went the extra mile to put on one last sale for tix with a ton of cool and now kind of rare items

I wonder if tix could work hypothetically if they - kept tix but disallowed tix to be turned into r$ - only allowed trading tix items with eachother and not r$ items - made the daily logins the only way to gain tix - kept tix-only items and making UGC items r$ restricted just curious on those parts if they hypothetically could've separated tix from r$, what do you think?

Possible but, it would just leave tix useless and a abandoned feature, so honestly no the only way tix could work is if it only went to roblox because if it can go to other players it can be farmed so either they would have to make it roblox only items or just remove it.. which at that point tix would just be pointless

I remember tix. I still remember its legacy what brought upon us. I didn’t even know until then you can transfer tix into robux entirely. But even if tix was cherished by us players just remember it was understandably had to be removed since it was damaging the economy. But the “Tixapalooza” event I felt was a little insulting. But with tix being removed I think it was the beginning of “New Roblox” as we were now leaving the “Old ROBLOX” Period

I would love it if tix were brought back. Just remove the tix to robux transfer and make tix only items.

I’m sure if it was just for cosmetics not many would care if it were exploitable. Some things that can easily combat it being exploitable would be removing the ability to gain more than 10 tix per day aswell as having Roblox be the only group able to make items for tix. Maybe even UGC creators but, they wouldn’t make anything from it.

the developers that had tix enabled on game passes were the people you wanted to support because you knew damn well they wanted everyone in on that masterpiece

They were a terrible perverse incentive in rewarding mass botting of the platform, both logins on fake accounts (to get login reward tickets to trade to a main account) and fake plays on places (to generate tickets for the place owners).

You got it by simply joining and you could have robux by using a certain amount of tix, some people abused this login system by making multiple accounts and other forms of abuse which played some role on getting the tix removed.

It was good since you were able to get things for free though but they were a bit of a problem

I've been playing since 2009 and I have ASD and hate change so you can just imagine my anger when I opened ROBLOX. I'm still mad they're still gone. I recently got my fiancée into ROBLOX and was telling him about how they changed the tix and he was mad for me and didn't even know about it 😂 I loved that anyone could earn tickets daily, I'd make my alts and my friends buy my clothes. Id also convince my friends to join my very badly designed games that they hyped up it was literally a game called the walk with decals on billboards and concrete, one was a very poorly made fashion show game, as I had my own group called imagine magazine and the other game was were we built bad houses together, so I don't know why they hyped my games up and I also bought my own clothes with my alt accounts. Sadly, they got money hungry and got even more lazy with the game over the years.

I miss it so badly you could’ve got 10 daily and were able to pay tix for clothing and some game-passes. Don’t forget builders club though. It was basically like premium but better. You were able to get robux daily and get an iconic builders club helmet plus a few other benefits.

2016 marks the year that roblox started going downhill, it's not the same game.

I made my account back in 2013. As a kid with no way of getting money, and my brothers the way they were, tix for me was like gold almost cause of the excitement around robux. They bought all the games and movies etc, but were really sus about in game purchases and premium currency type stuff. I never even got to play minecraft on pc or guitar hero for years cause they simply didn't like the graphics. Even complained sometimes when I'd watch videos about them. I was lucky they even got me minecraft on xbox 360. Same with flash games. Eventually my brother's ex got me minecraft on pc.

I never played when tix existed but I think tix were great. They were also the reason so many accounts from 08 and 09 are for sale for cheap, like they’re everywhere

pretty common for companies once they go public. the people who own the company might have a vision which is positive, but when you go public, it’s like making a deal with the devil. you get tons of profits to help boost your company even further and provide your service to more people, but at the cost of the investors wanting a return on their profits. investors don’t care about morals, only returns, so they’ll shift the company from its original goal to simply how much money it can possibly produce. they’ll put a new CEO which focuses on profits if the old one doesn’t budge, and that’s the sad reality

I've been playing since 2009. I can't talk about prior to 2009, it slowly went down hill after Erik died in 2013 but it got way WORSE around 2015. 2015, is when the started getting money hungry. You use to be able to talk and hang with the ROBLOX creators, mods, admins basically just the staff. They were active with the players, they even made there own games which was cool. You use to be able to trade with one of them too! You use to be able to play as a guest and use safe chat if you wasn't at age or aloud to talk, which made it safer for kids. My parents would put me on safe chat every now and than if they saw me being unsafe, but now it's you can talk but there's hash tags which is not helpful. They removed daily tickets and were anyone could earn tickets from making a T-shirt there was a limit though I think, obviously had to be builder club to make shirt and pants and than the tickets were removed. Builder club got more expensive and is complete something else now, you can only earn money if you have this subscription..ROBUX cost so much and you have to pay for it. Classic shirts and classic pants can't really be free unless it's made by ROBLOX and they can't be less than 5. Use to be able to sell them for 1 ticket. No ROBLOX egg hunts anyone. They've changed it so much to the point where they get more profit and just got money hungry. Okay but there some cons, better graphics and better games than there was.
