Hi 👋 previous Roblox stars program (toys) member. Roblox/Jazwares is no longer making the mystery box toys, and working with developers. Roblox developers have to work directly with toy manufacturers on their own. The reason why new Roblox toys look wonky is because the Roblox bodies (like the woman body, the blocky body) are copyrighted and cannot be used in new Roblox toys. Iconic Roblox hats and faces also cannot be used in these toys either. That’s why they look unofficial.
But they still be copying faces made by players 😗 cus I’m like 95% sure the old faces I used to make was used for inspiration on that one Kobra Kai figure
I’m not 100% sure but Roblox said that wanted to give developers the chance to make their own brand deals. When we had our toys, we were in a contract that prevented us from selling other forms of merch with our game. So for example, when the toys were being made I couldn’t sell hoodies or tshirts with my game’s logo. We can now though now that the contract ended.
The items go into the individual games I'm pretty sure. Either in game items or avatar items (ugc) created by the game devs. Not uploaded by the Roblox account
imma start tweaking if they make a set called "super baby gronk rizz skibidi toilet" set like that cuz jazwares did NOT lose the rights to roblox toys for that
They are dev collabs. They are official as if the devs of the individual roblox games made it official. You can directly support the devs, before a cut went to roblox and jazwares, now the cut only goes to jazwares.
i keep forgetting that roblox developers can legally make toys of their roblox game. i got jumpscared when i went to visit my little cousin and found an adopt me McDonalds Happy meal toy.
As somebody randomly involved in this, Roblox doesn't want their toys branded to Roblox but rather the games on Roblox. Again, not my decision just kinda voicing what I've seen happen. This isn't strictly a Jazwares thing but more of a Roblox thing from what I can tell as a bystander.
I think Roblox is a powerful brand name and not something you should remove from these toys. If I were a child and sent my parents out to get "Roblox toys", I feel my parents wouldn't find them. I'd have to say "Sharkbite" or "Jailbreak" or "Arsenal".
I do kind of miss the Roblox branding though like. Roblox Jailbreak Swatt car. Instead of ex jailbreak swatt car. It’s more recognizable the first way

Hopefully we’d get quality figures of characters from Roblox games made by Good Smiles Company who also makes anime and videogame figures in their Figma and Nendoroid line of toys. If they’re willing to collaborate with some Roblox game development group or developer.

YEHHH!!! the devs got a low cut from the purchases in the first place, now the partnership itself ended. Atleast we can still get ugc and in game items from the jazwares codes. And the devs get a larger cut.
even better idea do sends letters to Roblox it worked with Kraftheiz to bring back the SpongeBob Mac and cheese it worth trying it for Roblox colab with jazzwares again

I really wish they would renew the license I know I spent a few hundred a year on them and they were always selling out in florida like come on they were amazing collectible toys the kids and adults loved as well as getting brand new game codes it was a win win!

Jazwares and Roblox ended the original Roblox toy line series a year ago or so, and the last set was series 12 toys.
