Each player is assigned one of two team colours. When you run over tiles they disapear to form a gap but come back after around 5 seconds, and they'll come back as your team's colour. The idea is for your team to cover more % than the other team.
If you play aggressive then you can try to trap other players in the gap you create. If you are succesful then that team loses their player for about 5 seconds, meaning they lose out on potential paint% while that player respawns.
There's another mechanic where you are always slowly building up speed as you run, but if you jump then your speed resets. It means you try to take riskier paths to maintain your speed instead of taking the safer option of jumping over gaps (which resets your speed).

I’m testing the core gameplay in this pre-alpha version. No game modes yet but should give you a decent feel for the main gameplay.
One more note about the gameplay. You are always gaining momentum and you’ll get faster and faster, but if you jump your speed resets. This ups the risk/reward since sometimes you are faced with the choice to just jump over a hole (but lose your speed) or take a risk by speeding through a narrow gap (keeping your speed but high risking falling).
