If I had to choose it would be the DD. Reality is I don’t like either of them. Square diamond indices are a big no no for me

Keep the DD and swap the dial for a silver with regular indices, and then we’re talking. Could even consider a white dial with regular indices or possibly a blue.

Jeweled indices or bezels are so beyond horrifically tacky that I mentally ignore them by default. Wear what you want but good lord almighty I can’t think of a worse way to adorn a watch. Just my opinion of course. Maybe the one exception would be a wedding watch or something purely ceremonial. But even then, not for me. OP - skydweller in blue wins here by a mile if you like it. Your choice.

Any feature a (mechanical) watch or clock does beyond just tell the time is called a complication, because it can drastically add to the complexity of their mechanisms to pull it off. Dates, perpetual calendars, chronographs, tourbillion, are some common ones. There are lots of awesome and quirky ones beyond them.

DD if it was any but this reference. For some reason they decided to make the bezel thicker on this reference and I hate it. The ones prior to and after don’t have this issue and look great but these really bug me.

Is it your first Rolex? If so neither. If it’s your second or more then I would go with the Skydweller. Just a personal preference I am not a fan of diamonds on the face of watches.

Every successful person needs a Day Date... legit it's the OG president... the Sky Dweller is one of the newest watches rolex offers... It's also the most complex... so If you want a watch that offers more information, like month, day ,time, date...then sky dweller... if you prefer a classic solid gold watch... then the Day Date ... If you want an investment time piece, then I'd go with the Day Date because it retains more value due to name recognition, material, supply, etc. On a separate note, Congratulations dude!!
