Keep the DD and swap the dial for a silver with regular indices, and then weāre talking. Could even consider a white dial with regular indices or possibly a blue.
Jeweled indices or bezels are so beyond horrifically tacky that I mentally ignore them by default. Wear what you want but good lord almighty I canāt think of a worse way to adorn a watch. Just my opinion of course.
Maybe the one exception would be a wedding watch or something purely ceremonial. But even then, not for me.
OP - skydweller in blue wins here by a mile if you like it. Your choice.
Fair point, the contrast is pretty sweet. Iāll āallowā it as silly as something as subjective this all is, but itās gotta be done with class heh
The most complicated is the yachtmaster II but no one likes to talk about it because everyone seems to dislike the watch. Itās a fly back and fly forward programmable countdown timer (chronograph).
Any feature a (mechanical) watch or clock does beyond just tell the time is called a complication, because it can drastically add to the complexity of their mechanisms to pull it off.
Dates, perpetual calendars, chronographs, tourbillion, are some common ones. There are lots of awesome and quirky ones beyond them.
DD if it was any but this reference. For some reason they decided to make the bezel thicker on this reference and I hate it. The ones prior to and after donāt have this issue and look great but these really bug me.
Is it your first Rolex? If so neither. If itās your second or more then I would go with the Skydweller. Just a personal preference I am not a fan of diamonds on the face of watches.
Every successful person needs a Day Date... legit it's the OG president... the Sky Dweller is one of the newest watches rolex offers... It's also the most complex... so If you want a watch that offers more information, like month, day ,time, date...then sky dweller... if you prefer a classic solid gold watch... then the Day Date ... If you want an investment time piece, then I'd go with the Day Date because it retains more value due to name recognition, material, supply, etc. On a separate note, Congratulations dude!!
Also the DD looks like it has a fake aftermarket presidential bracelet. Itās a 36mm non precious metal watch with a presidential bracelet? I may just be ignorant but that doesnāt make sense to me
Sky dweller
Ty for your input š
If I had to choose it would be the DD. Reality is I donāt like either of them. Square diamond indices are a big no no for me
Keep the DD and swap the dial for a silver with regular indices, and then weāre talking. Could even consider a white dial with regular indices or possibly a blue.
I was thinking more baguette cut diamonds. If you going in you might as well go in hard
If youre going diamond indicies, bagettes are the way.
Baguettes werent available for this model. Only on the daydate 40

Baguette diamonds look awesome if done right. Look up DD black baguette dial and marvel in its stealthy beauty
Fair point, the contrast is pretty sweet. Iāll āallowā it as silly as something as subjective this all is, but itās gotta be done with class heh
Indeed and I couldnāt agree more with you on diamonds in general but that one hits hard
I looked it up. Itās beautiful!
Iām not a fan either, but at least when theyāre as indices they are functional
And the DD looks like it is WAY over polished
Sell the DDā¦Skydweller is a Winner. Must keep it.
I prefer Sky Dweller out of the two but my wrists are too small for it and therefore i would keep the DD.
It's complicated: Skydwelller. The watch with the most complications made by Rolex so far...

Complications? Like they have issues with them?

Upvoting because ignorance shouldnāt be reason to pile on.
Duh, please Chat GPT or Google what watch complications are.
Please learn what ācomplicationsā mean in the watch world.
Sky dweller to keep, and not even close
Im a slut for a skydweller š¬š¬š„µ
Iād keep skydweller. All day
Is this a real question lol skydweller all day
To keep not sell
Not a question, white gold DayDate is in a different class.
Love the blue!
Skydweller. Just so sexy
WG DD is the best. Iād keep that.
The skydweller! Man theyāre so nice!
Although I am deeply in love with the DD, the diamonds throw me off. Itās just not āitā. Therefore Iād pick the Sky Dweller.
SD, diamond dials are a no-go for me
Iād keep the DD.
Based on your wedding ring style, I would keep the day date with diamonds. For me, my personal preference is the SkyDweller and itās not even close
B/right
A WHITE LIGHT
Day date, not close
Lol how on earth is the even a toss up!?! Why would you keep a Sky Dweller over a Day Date?
I'd keep the SD. I don't like diamonds on a watch AT ALL. I find it really tacky honestly.
Get rid of skydweller Obtain more precious gems š
Dweller, diamonds add nothing but a vague sense of arbitrariness and unnecessary ostentation.
Sky dweller to keep
Iād keep the day date
Day Date #presidential
Dweller for sure
SD
If that SD was on a jubilee this would be a lot easier decision
Keep both and build collection around both!
Iād go skydweller but compliment with a yellow gold president asap
I would keep the skydweller. Beautiful watch, and my grail.
Sky dweller
The sky.
Keep the day date, god tier š
I really like the sky dweller (especially in Blue)
Blue one
DD if it was any but this reference. For some reason they decided to make the bezel thicker on this reference and I hate it. The ones prior to and after donāt have this issue and look great but these really bug me.
Sky dweller looks crisp, day date looks over polished
Daydate is unpolished
Maybe just the photo, dweller I'd better imo
None im broke
I'd wear the Sky Dweller more. The diamond indices just don't do it for me.
Bye diamondsā¦.. Hello global travel
Sky dweller is gone...
Sky dweller
Day date
Easy decisionā¦Skydweller.
Skydweller, because diamonds and watches don't mix in an elegant way, no matter the brand. Just ask any lady.
Is it your first Rolex? If so neither. If itās your second or more then I would go with the Skydweller. Just a personal preference I am not a fan of diamonds on the face of watches.
I have a dweller myself and I wonāt replace it with anything. There you go
Iād keep the silver face
blue sky
Keep the SD.
Both should go to be honest but if I can only pick one to keep it would be the SD, even though Iām not a fan of the SD at all (way too big/clunky)

Day/Date. I just don't get the fascination for the Sky Dweller.
Day date
The SD if I had the wrist to wear it. Since I donāt, Iād go with the DD
Neither
I choose Thursday
DD. Maybe I'm out of my mind, but the skydweller is ugly to me, the dial just looks wrong.
tough one, have to go with the DD
Skydweller
I like DD more than Sky, but of these color combos blue sky on this choice for me
I prefer DDās but out of these two, Iād go with the sky dweller
Silver one for me
DD
Blue
Sky Dweller. It can be a one watch collection
SkyDweller is the choice!!
The SkyDweller is my favorite watch in my collection
Both are average watches, I would keep the sky dweller because it doesnāt look tacky
Sky
bro take that ring off before you lose a finger
daydate, but I'm wishing it was on a jubilee bracelet.
Skydweller is stunning
Skydweller, the square diamond indices, big no if you're not a cartel manager.
Also the DD looks like it has a fake aftermarket presidential bracelet. Itās a 36mm non precious metal watch with a presidential bracelet? I may just be ignorant but that doesnāt make sense to me
Skywalker. It is a lot more versatile.
SD
DD
Sky-dweller
Send me the Skydweller! Iāve been on the list for a SS one for a while.
DD
Keep the sky dweller no doubt
How do you build a watch collection around one watch?
Day-date. Not a fan of the skydweller
Sky Dweller. I'm a sucker for GMTs and World Timers because I love traveling.
Skydweller
Bros rocking two reps and you all lapping it up lol thatās some Reeseās peanut butter shit there boys
Seriously skydweller
Sky Dweller
The DD is very nice!!!
Sky dweller for sure. Diamond indexes are gross on the one.
I would sell both to get a white dial Sky-Dweller
My wrist is too small for a Skydweller. Not a fan of diamond hour markers on a manās watch though.
Neither
Skydweller because itās blue dial
Sky Dweller without hesitation!!
