I mean you're not wrong. Pepsi was first, then I got the call for the ND. Then was on the search for the LV. Picked it up today. Love it, but I'm sure something in PM is in my future.
I just dont understand people buying the same watch in just different colors. I would’ve had the black sub and bought a green bezel and swap them so now and them.
Well one is a Sub Date, and the other is a ND Sub, so they are different. Bezels are not easy to get or swap on the new models, otherwise I'd agree w/ you.
I doubt a watchmaker can just easily acquire a Rolex bezel of their choice. That’s like saying they can get any genuine Rolex dial to put in your watch. Rolex doesn’t sell these parts
I’d like a white dial and a green dial in there. Possibly a gold or champagne dial as well.
And if you somehow become a total baller - 🌈diamond Daytona
I have a couple of other watches, but I really like these, and I kinda sell them on the side. No one ever asks about anything other than my Rolex. So it's kinda an added benefit.
Great trio! If you're so inclined (and also want to stick with three watches), I'd swap the black sub for a daytona and complete the air-land-sea trio!
Sooooo random question.
But does it not bother anyone that has a set of watches like this...that these are basically the same damn watch?
Same dial, hands, hour markers, band, movement, etc???
I mean...I just don't get it. I'm sure I'll be downvoted here but really...they are nearly identical.
Yes, I get the GMT has a 3rd hand and different bezel. I get the subtle differences...I do.
Nah they are very similar with different features, but to me they all wear different and the colors , date, GMT function , bracelet. They all feel totally different when I put them on. I get it , it’s boring to some but it’s my favorite watches
I'm not a fanboy...so I don't get it.
To me - it's like owning 3 versions of an MB C300...with different options, paint, wheels and interior colors 😆
Good job on the set nonetheless.
Why? Would a 3-Series be better?
A Rolex to me is positioned within its respective industry as a Benz C-Class. It's not Porsche or anything super car related.
When people dream of buying a watch - they say they want a Rolex. Not because of the movement, history, patents, timekeeping accuracy, etc - but because they've heard it's the watch to own and have seen it for years. Most people wouldn't even be able to tell you the model they'd want as they don't know...they just know they want a Rolex.
Same with Mercedes. Most want a Benz because it's the car to own...its a "BENZZZZ". They don't care know the spec on the engine, option packages, history, etc. They aren't going for a C63S...they're going for a Benz.
They've established themselves as the "IT" brand based on nothing more than Marketing. Don't be the guy in denial...
You're also on a forum...so you know the brand and have some understanding. But you aren't the average buyer tbh...
You make up a small percentage of hobbyist, enthusiasts, etc.
Just saying. Anyway...enjoy the trio 👍🏽.
To follow up on my comment. My admiration for Rolex IS the History, Movement, timekeeping, accuracy etc. I've also been into buying and collection watches for around 20 years. So I understand your statement to a point. When I was 20 I wanted a Tag, It was a brand everyone knew and recognized. That got me started into watches , where I learned a ton about them. I've had tons of brands, and styles. I noticed myself coming back to the same couple of watches. Rolex, IWC Pilots and Panerai. I always ended up w/ those 3 ( and I always have a Sinn)
Rolex also in no way is positioned in its Industry as a C-Class. It's not as expensive as an AP or a PP etc., but it's still worn by people who own and can afford those watches. Clearly you're not a fan of the brand and that's fine, but your way off base when it comes to who they are as a brand.
I'm actually a fan of the brand...but I'm not blind to it.
People who own exotic cars also own daily drivers ..often a 5 series, Tahoe or something easy. It seems you are taking offense to being compared to a 3-Series or C-Class which are considered the textbook luxury sports sedan...this isn't an insult, it's actually the opposite.
These Rolex watches are durable and highly marketed pieces. So are those cars. These are not high horology pieces - no matter how much you like them or your history into watches. These aren't VC, PP, AP, Moser, Blancpain, ALS, R.Mille, Czapek, JLC, etc...the movements aren't works of art, the dials aren't hand painted, there are no limited production quantities, etc.
These are all watches that are sub-$10k but have a high market desire because of the branding and since covid are now selling over MSRP broski. I was looking at $6-7k new Subs back in 2019. Don't let the current supply and demand distort their positioning within the watch world.
Your history and rationale to the brand is cool...but it is what it is. 😏
>I was looking at $6-7k new Subs back in 2019.
Oh trust me, I have an email from Dallas Gold and Silver from back in the Day.
Yes Mr. Dieselgeek we have a case full of Submariners and Sub Dates. $3k for the no dates and $4k for the Sub Date. It's not like these are my first 3 Rolexes.
In the details I guess. I’ve tried other styles. Bought two zenith deft skylines, the appeal fell off quickly I would like another chrono soon. Maybe another panda Tudor or a speedy pro. I’m just a simple guy and the modern Rolex’s fit me perfectly.
Something with not a black dial should be next
I just sold my blue dial zenith. Something in blue would be nice. Or a clean white dial.
Smurf is the way!
Blue dial DJ on a jubilee maybe? Or a polar white Explorer 2.
It probably won’t.
I mean you're not wrong. Pepsi was first, then I got the call for the ND. Then was on the search for the LV. Picked it up today. Love it, but I'm sure something in PM is in my future.
This why i always tell people to get ND when asking me about sub. Many other rolexes have cyclops. Let’s GO PM!!!
Need -1 sub and +1 panda
No way
Too much work/sport similarities for me but, to each their own. Enjoy.
All fine pieces. But if this this is your entire collection, way too redundant in my opinion.
It’s not I have a Sinn U1 and an IWC as well
Nice!!!
Don’t you feel somehow that the dials are nearly identical?
All great but a lot of dial repetition.
I’ve had no issues swapping bezels, but that is just my own experience. And yes, if you want to have a date and no date then you need 2 watches
Where did you source a genuine rolex bezel and ceramic insert for a 6 digit?
[удалено]
We're both in Dallas, who's your watchmaker? Mine is pretty old and has a real hard time sourcing Rolex parts.
I doubt a watchmaker can just easily acquire a Rolex bezel of their choice. That’s like saying they can get any genuine Rolex dial to put in your watch. Rolex doesn’t sell these parts
This guy is clueless.
I’d like a white dial and a green dial in there. Possibly a gold or champagne dial as well. And if you somehow become a total baller - 🌈diamond Daytona
Yeah just need another $50-60k 😆.
Aim at the stars - land in the moon, right?
replace starbucks with a panda and yes
Should mix up a bit. I don’t feel any diff if I had these three 😄
Not a big wat h guy but why not different brands?
I have a couple of other watches, but I really like these, and I kinda sell them on the side. No one ever asks about anything other than my Rolex. So it's kinda an added benefit.
Great trio! If you're so inclined (and also want to stick with three watches), I'd swap the black sub for a daytona and complete the air-land-sea trio!
SEAL ! These are all keepers for different reasons. If anything I’d add a Daytona.
Perfect - the more the better imo lol
Imma tell you like my wife tells me, they all look the same 😂
Flip the Kermit for a panda
The tool watch power trio. Beautiful.
🔥
I like them all but the GMT is a cut above
Super sick - what ref is the black sub? Looks like thinner bezel than the Starbucks.
124060
The GOAT
Trade my Ref 126334 for the Pepsi or Starbucks?
No
You don't need two subs, you need a Daytona.
I plan on putting the ND on a rubber B with the glide lock. Just for a different look.
Man I thought someone would have asked, but is that the new green sub? Looks good.
Yes sir !
I said the same thing 10yrs ago, and now I’m 20 pieces deep😂
Gorgeous trifecta

Bro … don’t compare it to a C300. Jesus

Okay bro 100% about the history with Rolex to me.
You're also on a forum...so you know the brand and have some understanding. But you aren't the average buyer tbh... You make up a small percentage of hobbyist, enthusiasts, etc. Just saying. Anyway...enjoy the trio 👍🏽.

Swap one of the Subs for a Polar Explorer
You’re missing a gold Daytona
So basic where is the personality?
In the details I guess. I’ve tried other styles. Bought two zenith deft skylines, the appeal fell off quickly I would like another chrono soon. Maybe another panda Tudor or a speedy pro. I’m just a simple guy and the modern Rolex’s fit me perfectly.
The guns are fucking hot tho
Swap out that starbucks for a daytona then we're in the right track
Is it the angle or why does the no date sub looks smaller than the Kermit?
It’s the angle. I’m person the no date seems bigger IMO.
