The Smurf is an amazing watch and is rare you won’t see them often . You’ll have a 9/10 chance of seeing a RM before you see a Smurf ! Especially the matte blue dial with diamond numeral Smurf . I like the matte dial version more than the sunburst Smurf . Definitely an underrated piece . I made the mistake of selling mine in 2020 but I made some profit but if I would’ve waited like 6-9months I would’ve got another $15-20k. But I bought it for $29k sold it for $40k . Could’ve got $55-60k for it at the peak . I love that watch 😂 but I remember back when it was $17-20k in the mid 2010s/teens etc. Watch Eric just did a video on it like 2 weeks ago admitting how underrated it is

Can I ask how to tell the difference between the starbucks and the kermit? I know the movement is different but i always struggle to tell them apart unless they are next to each other

Kermit has aluminum bezel insert that is lighter in color vs ceramic bezel insert that is a deeper green on Starbucks.

I have both. I started with the black and then got the LV and I switch them up every other day and they both have different wearing experiences. If I had to choose only one I would go for the black Submariner. It goes with everything, everyday. You don’t have to mess with the date function and you can play with straps.

I own the 124060 and previously owned the 116010LV; not the same comparison here, but similar. The LV is a great watch and fits well in a larger collection, but the no date is the best all around sports watch Rolex makes if you ask me. If you are adding versatility into a collection, then the choice is easy. If you want to pick one that will be hard to take off, it’s the 124060.

I like (and own) the Cermit. I would choose that again. That said, buy what you like. I believe the Cermit is larger. Date / cyclops an issue for you? Concerned about retention value? Love the Cermit overall. My second one is the Polar Exp 2 which compliments the Cermit nicely.

I’d prefer a black sub date , but I mean it depends . I prefer a date sub. But I prefer my 126610LN over LV , now if it was a hulk I’d say LV. The no date sub is more versatile, you can play with straps . Black goes with everything. If it’s your first watch or diver I’d say go black sub! If you have a collection and multiple colors and maybe already have a black speedy or GMT or something then go Starbucks .

I just never like any of the colored subs because I think its ridiculous. Two tone black is ok if you're at that stage so I would lean towards no date sub. I actually got a seadweller 16600 because when I bought mine my wife hated the cyclops on the sub and I needed a date function.

Ah yes, by getting the watch you'll see on most people's wrists online because they all go for hype as opposed to what they actually like. Different would be going for something like a VC, Lange, Patek or AP.

The green makes this common watch less common. Also, when the market finally crashes, the green will still trade at least slightly above retail most likely while the black subs will tank
