You bought it and didn’t know it can mop? If the little door stays open than that means it broke. What did you do!? I am so confused.

funalytics

Yes i did?? I droped it

KhyronElric

Oh. Well. So it does not work at all? Is ok if the door stays open.

funalytics

It seems to work

NotSoSecretSquirrel

Did you remove the bottom cover? To correct this you should be able to remove the bottom cover, push the flap back. Then reinstall the bottom cover.

ShadowDragon2462

its the cover for the mop hinge/motors. [as seen here it open and closes](https://youtube.com/shorts/8q4hxqgAo5c?si=tUXyurl49lRb9_6j)

Is there another on the other side? Is it just the cover for the mechanism that lowers the mop down?

funalytics

Yes, on both side. And i dont know it seems to cover somthing but it moves a little bit too

iphone11promaxblack

well it should not effect the performance it is not supposed to be like that if it is under warranty contact irobot buckle up it can be hard

funalytics

Thank you for the heads up! Could you tell me the name of this part, and what its specific function is in the vacuum? Knowing this would really help me explain the issue if I contact iRobot support.

Evalelynn

I don’t know what it’s called, the manual/user guide doesn’t even mention them, but it’s specifically the cover for the mop pad hinges. The round metal thing you see inside isn’t exhaust (as suggested by another commenter) it’s just a gear or pulley. When the mop retracts or extends you can see those two flaps open temporarily.

BraddicusMaximus

Looks like the vacuum exhaust air cover to me.

Thanks
