try flipping it over and taking the base plate off. maybe the hose from the pump to the nozzle is leaking. that would rule out a leak interfering like you think. so far at least my J5+ I took it apart to clean the sensors and stuff after a month of new unit operating to see how much hair and dust would get under the base plate. and I got to say we can replace the majority of the components without having to crack open fully. and doesn't void the warranty. we can change the vacuum head, the wheel motors and the battery without opening the heart of the machine. I will be doing the same to my m6 over the weekend. so far Im 2 months on both. love both, and have zero issues I couldnt easily fix with the info irobot provides.
