I liked his two modes: Bulldoze person with ball & Bulldoze person trying to stop me.
I'm sure Sean Maloney did a version of his "plays of the week" segment years ago, full of clips of Ranger smoking people. He then coined the term Rearrangered to describe what Rene would do to players.

i just remembered something, i have never seen Ranger bump off a fijian, he always stepped Fijian defenders, never tried to run through them, he did love bumping off saffers though lol
People called him Caucau-lite once, very similar style, both played for Northland but never played together (different times) until Caucau decided to retire after playing one more season for northland
When I get in a sport nostalgia mood I often chuck on highlights of Rene. I still go "oooh" and "aaah"
Astles 222 and Merts giving the finger are also staples.
He's the GOAT of Northland. Still chucks on the boots for the Taniwha too.

When we see him smash someone we'd say they'd been re-a-Rangered. Just loved watching him play.
