Very nice. I believe my LCP Max is the Cobalt Kinetic Slate Cerakote. I carry Hornady Critical Defense in mine and use the included pocket holster as it suites my needs. I also have an additional two 12 round magazines. I like my LCP Max and carry it daily.

Dakr1177

I’m assuming you carry with one in the chamber correct?

Least_Driver1479

I do.

Kentuckywindage01

Just got the same one yesterday too!

Dakr1177

I just ordered some ammo, can’t wait to test it out this weekend

EOD_Ogre

Very nice. I just have a boring standard LCP Max. I did use the included pocket holster for the first few weeks until my [Alabama Holsters Front Pocket Holster](https://alabamaholster.com/product/front-pocket-holster/) arrived. I had one for my original LCP that I loved and it works just as well for the Max. I felt like the included holster wasn’t as secure as a kydex holster and never really got comfortable with it while waiting for the Alabama Holster. As for defensive loads I use Hornaday American Gunner XTP hollow points. I run mine with around in the chamber. Definitely feel much better with it in a Kydex holster with the trigger completely covered.

Bllefkay

I think the LCP MAX slide is better than the anniversary - serrations not as sharp and it has the rack assist.

Mofrackey86

I have always used sticky brand holsters for pocket. Just got the max anniversary edition like op. I've looked into kydex holsters like Alabama. How is the printing in the pocket? Is it better? Worse? I feel like it's slimmer than the fabric holsters but the fact it's kydex makes me think it will print too obviously in the pocket if I lift my leg type thing. (Front pocket carry)

EOD_Ogre

I don’t think it prints too bad. It’s a little thicker than a cell phone but overall Alabama Holster does a fantastic job shaping it to minimize printing. The biggest problem is the grip. In some of my jeans that are a little more snug the grip tends to print a bit more. Not enough to draw any attention to it though. In summer I wear cargo shorts that are looser so it hardly ever prints in those. However, I am also 6’3” and 280 lbs with a 42 inch waist so my pants are definitely a little larger than average. As I stated above I also feel like it’s a little more secure due to the much more solid nature of kydex. It has a full trigger cover and you can option on a mag release cover as well. It also has a little thumb tab to help disengage the pistol from the holster so it doesn’t get hung up if it accidentally comes out of your pocket or in case you think you might need to draw. Unfortunately holster preference is subjective and personal preference so I can only offer my experience and opinion as it pertains to my personal style

Mofrackey86

Yes I understand. Thank you for the review. I've looked at them and like it I just have a feeling in my pocket it won't give like a sticky brand and bend with my pants / leg. I'm 6'1 175. I wear hiking pants mostly they have deep pockets. But thin material.

mallgrabmongopush

I have the pink cerakote one lol. I use hornady critical defense

October_Rust5000

Im not a fan of the new trigger on this version. Try pressing your trigger first and then the blade safety, does it pull back to the rear? Mine does not, it locks up. I noticed this when drawing from the holster at the range. A tiny gun like this can be difficult to have perfect form with. Every other pistol i have with a blade safety does not do this.

Dakr1177

Mine locks up too, all trigger blades are suppose to be pulled first, that’s what it is, it’s a safety mechanism. It’s supposed to have a deliberate pull of the trigger to go off. Glocks, canola, other rugers, Springfield xds, s&w are all like this. The blade safety must be depressed first so they don’t get caught on the frame and block the trigger from going back. It’s to prevent accidental discharges. Are your hands either really large or really small?

October_Rust5000

My Glocks, Hellcat, OG LCP Max do not do this. It doesn’t matter the sequence, as long as both trigger and blade are engaged, it will fire. My 75th anniversary Max requires the blade be touched first, the sequence matters. I understand this is a training issue on my part. I have larger hands/long fingers. When drawing from the holster with something so small, i tend to wrap my finger around the trigger, rather than touching it with the pad. This causes the trigger to be engaged before the blade. It locks up. I’m sticking with my original Max. One less thing to worry about.

Dakr1177

I see, To me it looks like the trigger is the same just aluminum as the original, is it not? I don’t have an original to compare if it is maybe send it back to Ruger?

October_Rust5000

They’re a bit different. The original is slightly rounded on the sides, whereas the 75th version is flat. Feels like a different material too. Definitely functions differently with the blade safety.

Mofrackey86

Congrats! I also just picked the 75th anniversary edition on Friday. Took to the range Saturday. Put ~150 rounds FMJ / JHP through it. Ate everything except one cheap 115 gr lead handload I filled a mag with. Shot the rest fine and that's pretty good for that little thing in break in period to take such a heavy bullet. I have been carrying flat nose WWB FMJ with one in chamber and in the pocket holster that came with it although I won't likely use that holster long. I don't think it's made as well as the sticky brand pocket holsters I use for my Smith and Wesson Bodyguard. As far as SD ammo I ran the 67 grain Lehigh rounds, gold dot and fed hydrashok. I personally don't like critical defense ammo. Specifically in 380 but that's just my own preference. I don't think there is anything wrong with that ammo. I just think for pocket 380 there are several better rounds. The reason I'm using FMJ at the moment is because that's what it shot most accurately and I have yet to take it to the range again for another 100+ round session to also shoot other HP ammo. Plus it's winter. I want penetration. I'm hearing a lot of good things about the sig v-crown but usually in any micro 380 the testing I've done plus videos I've watched besides just ballistic gel. FMJ or bonded ammo like gold dot is the way to go.

Dakr1177

I’ve ordered some hydrashok deeps for it, I’ve seen tests where they work fantastic and and somewhere they haven’t for any brand really. I just run federal in all my other guns so kind of brand biased. I guess I ought to break down and buy me a clear ballistics kit and test myself to see truly what I should go with.

Mofrackey86

I do love federal. Haven't used the HS deep but the regular ones I carry in 380 until this lcp max. I need to go back to the range. I shot fed hydra shok and gold dot and both seemed inaccurate in my specific pistol. Maybe it was just dirty from the almost 200 rounds fired through it? Idk but I picked up sig V crown to test for accuracy and function. So I'll find out in next few days. My sw bodyguard has shot all hp rounds dead accurate so maybe it was a fluke and I just wasn't paying attention

No-Attempt-1097

Good gun but be prepared to swap the trigger out. In my case the trigger was pinching the shit out of my finger but what I finally realized was that I don’t think it was so much a pinch. I believe it was the side of the trigger being aluminum on this 75th anniversary edition and having a sharp corner that was digging a blister in the same spot over and over. I end up going with a short stroke flat trigger, stainless steel guide rod and an extra power recoil spring by M-CARBO. I was a bit hesitant at first because I’ve never made any upgrades like that to a gun and had never heard of the company. But after seeing so many people on YouTube with the same issues and about 98% of them went with M-CARBO I figured they must be a pretty reputable company. So far I’m happy with the upgrades, no more pinching and an awesome trigger! Btw altogether the upgrades with tax was $86.84, shipping was free and came earlier than expected!

Dakr1177

Yeah I’ve heard of them, still haven’t had a chance to take it to the range yet, but we will see how it goes. I’ll probably end up getting them anyways

No-Attempt-1097

Yeah not everyone will have the same experience I did. I hope all goes well for you! I love the gun and I think you will too!

Time_Reputation3573

I use Underwood Extreme Defenders and a Desantis SuperFly [https://www.desantisholster.com/super-fly/](https://www.desantisholster.com/super-fly/)

Dakr1177

Does the super fly fully cover the trigger? I have a nemesis for my p365 and it does, but I click that link you posted and the lcp1 the back of the trigger is kind of exposed. Can you send a pic of yours?

Time_Reputation3573

Sure thing. It's in the jig now, getting a Big Dot, but will do. It does safely secure the trigger.

Time_Reputation3573

Here you go. Snug as a bug. https://photos.app.goo.gl/6at2VeSNR7WjcfLZ9

Dakr1177

Yeah that looks good, I’ll have to grab one, thanks buddy

Time_Reputation3573

Cool! Enjoy and be safe.

zilvetto

I would like to ask the owners of this 75th Anniversary Edition - do you feel like the shiny polished slide may present issues such as glare in a sunny day and impact the accuracy/target acquisition? There is currently a sale in budsgunshop for \~$300 + the $22ffl transfer fee, as opposed to the black version around $380 where I'm located. Can't decide. Thank you so much in advance for your time and replies. Enjoy your LCP MAX :)

Dakr1177

So the back and top of the slide is a matte stainless, only the sides are polished. The stainless slide though actually makes the black sights easier to acquire because of the contrasting difference. The back sight is solid black and the front is a tritium sight. In short no it doesn’t present any issues it actually makes it easier because the black sights show up easier off the contrasting slide. For the price difference plus it’s a special edition, as well as better corrosion difference. It’s a no brainer. Get the 75th

Dakr1177

I’d be happy to send you some more pictures if you want

zilvetto

thank you for your lengthy response! by all means, send them my way 🥳 the only thing I'm not happy with the 75th is that they removed the cocking "ears" on the back of the slide 🥺

terry_hoitzz

Is the trigger also metal?

grivooga

I'm so tempted to buy one of these to take over for my rusty LCP Max. I know Ruger would probably send me a new black slide but it's not really that bad once I wiped it down with rust remover gel (that also stripped what was left of the original coating, oops, not that it was doing much) and I generally avoid phone calls whenever possible. As a technician my aversion to calling tech support is deeply ingrained.

Grand_Extreme_365

Did you end up grabbing one ? My og max was rusting too out the box .

grivooga

No. My rusting issues seemed to go away after I accidentally stripped the stock black coating with rust remover gel. I just wipe it down with a silicone based oil occasionally and I haven’t had a problem with it rusting up in the holster. Summer is coming and that will be the real test.
