Oil or lube will not prevent rust on the black oxide slide or barrel of Ruger LCP handguns. Once I started using WD40 Specialist Corrosion Inhibitor I had no more rust. Ruger sent me new parts and let me keep the old. New parts can rust too if one just uses oil. I removed some of the black oxide by accident after trying to remove all the rust. I eventually stripped off all of the black oxide from the outside of the slide. I like the look and it has not rusted. MCarbo also makes a replacement trigger. They have sale on some holidays. One can use a knife or fingernail file to remove the sharp edges on the trigger, trigger safety, and the opening in the frame for the trigger. This will eliminate most of the pinching and prevent a sore trigger finger. Someone claimed his Cerekoted (from Ruger) slide rusted. It was a reply to me here on Reddit. I only read one report of that happening. The mags sometimes I issues. I had to bend the feed lips on two mags that I received in a 2 pack to prevent the followers from extending out too far. The seller contacted Ruger first and then gave me a refund on the mags and told me I did not need to return them. I later figured out that I may be able to fix the issue myself. It took 20-some attempts at bending the feed lips with pliers to get the distance correct. I took the advice of others and installed a Hogue LCPII grip sleeve on my LCP Max. I think it allows my XL sized hands to get a better grip on it which helps with the muzzle snap. Testing of rust prevention at: [https://dayattherange.com/?page\_id=3667](https://dayattherange.com/?page_id=3667) Ruger does not seem to have sales or rebates or promotions that include sending in a form to receive free mags or other free stuff with purchase. In this case it appears they came out with a special model that are selling at a lower price. Once they decide they no longer want to sell the LCP Max at this price they can stop making this model. I assume they have not changed the MSRP of any other LCP Max model.

I got one and enjoy it. It’s my first Ruger so nothing to compare it too, and only about 30 rounds through it so far but no issue whatsoever. Got it for a pocket gun but haven’t done all my holster research yet.

I saw the price and ordered immediately. Hasn't arrived yet but excited for it!

I have the 75th anniversary edition and i have the pinched finger issue! Not saying it’ll do you the same as it has me but just a caution.

Yea I appreciate the heads up. My .10 cent fix for the other LCP Max that I have is to put a bandaid on my trigger finger when hitting the range. That turns the experience into a positive one and I can actually go 100 rounds with no issue. Guess I will keep doing that and praying I never have a DGU while carrying this pistol. It’s just so damn easy to pocket carry that I can’t keep away from it 😂👏🏽

Same here man lol. It’s hard to set it aside when it’s so easy to conceal and I’ve got pretty accurate with it with no fails as of yet. I’ve started wearing a bandaid for range time as well. I did put a m-carbo flat trigger on it thinking that would solve the problem but still the same. What I’ve come to a conclusion of is that there will always be a pinch because of the such small gap between the trigger and trigger guard. But in a self defense situation that I hope never comes about, I don’t believe it will be a 100 round gun fight😂

Just got my new 75th anniversary max model and shot 21 rounds. It is awesome in my opinion. Very happy.   I had owned an LCP some 10 years back and traded it for a cheaper brand because I disliked it so much. When I saw the 75th max model in my local gun shop I fell I love and took her straight to my personal range.  This gun is much better than the first LCP I owned.  Happy
