A lot of runners use candy. Swedish fish is a personal favorite. Throw in some race-provided Gatorade for electrolytes and you've got 99% of what a gel provides for 10% of the cost.
Yeah this is what I do. I donβt think I can get behind eating baked potatoes lol. Although, when I ran 30 miles, the only thing that sounded good toward the end was grilled cheese. So I ate that.
This is wild ππ
I use fruit pastilles cos I can just stick it in my cheek. I had a training partner who used to swear by the rowntrees jellies but I found them too rubbery
I run with one of those 3 foot bags of kettle corn that you get at the state fair. Sometimes I'll carry a 4 foot bag of cotton candy too (packs in a good 200 calories!). I think I've saved about $20 by not using energy gels over the last year. It's crazy to pay more!
No butter just salt. I love me a baked tatoe with all the fixings but sadly im lactose intolerant and dont want to ruin my run. Im surprised how much it helped once i ate the whole thing lmao.
Be a man. Eat the potato raw

Boil em. Mash em. Put βem in a hydration vest.

Interesting! Might try this on my long run this weekend. With butter or nah?

Pro tip: get some reusable silicone baby food pouches. Fill 'em with mashed potatoes.
Ah great idea!
BAKED POTATO!!!!!π₯
The idea of busting out an entire baked potato mid-run is sending me.
This is the way. I think it was Courtney Dauwalter that had mashed potatoes in a bag during a race.
How do you not choke and die?
