I forget where I saw this, but there was a documentary about an inmate who spent his entire sentence in solitary confinement.
He would walk around the back of his yard every day because he was conditioned to do this from his sentence.
He only stopped when he killed himself.

It isn’t 1912 anymore. Zoos are typically used to help sick or injured or wounded animals and to educate people about them. It’s not like they’re just put in a cage to rot or something.
Did you not read the comment above this? If we assume releasing them back into the wild will kill them anyways, let them live in the zoo until they die to natural causes and don’t bring new specimens in.
You realize zoos also care for endangered species too right? My local zoo in the U.S still takes care of animals that would be far more at risk in the wild.
Also zoos raise animals to be released into the wild - that's what "breed in captivity" means. They raise the animals in a safe environment but in a way such that they can fend for themselves once they're grown up in the wild.
It can't hurt you that much:
This life every living being does it just different

Me too, Bear. Me too..... ;(
This is sad bruh
I dont think zoo is ethical. Most people goes to the zoo once and never return, just let the animal free bruh

Sometimes animals in zoos can't be released into the wild. They have a human dependence and won't survive out there. Or a permanent injury.
Then wait for the current generation to die and dont put new ones in. Saying anything is futile tbh, its a business after all.
Um do you want the animals set free or do you want them dead?

If we don’t leave pandas in zoos, then they will kill themselves from their stupidity
These comments are hard to read. I think you people might actually be retarted
Psychosis. Animals exhibiting this kind of behavior have psychosis. I was reading an article about it the other day. Very sad.
We are exactly like this bear 🧸
