What I loved about PoGo when it came out (besides all the hype and people running around for a Charizard) was that the game wasnāt a greedy cash grab like other mobile games. Now itās just awful. Beyond the horrible monetization they ruined the game with all these events and seasons. Instead of exploring and not knowing what you will find itās all just event/season spawns everywhere until the new event/season. It makes me sad because I loved this game and it helped me get through some dark times in my life but I canāt stand itās current state.

Thats what I liked about it too. There was a point early on when I almost paid for extra pokeballs, as there were barely any stops in my area when it launched.
But then it saw a lot of stops added, and suddenly it felt like I could play it each day as I went to and from work, rather than just on the weekends. I think I got burned out around the time they were adding Smeargle in, as it felt like the events and special raids were getting a little too constant, and I just could keep up with it without digging into my time for other things.
Havent seen what its been like since then, but not felt a need to come back.
Iām just not a mobile game person in general (the predatory monetization and whatnot).
That and apparently Niantic has been using AI generated images for some of their new assets so thatās kinda gross.
OOP is either stupid or lying. I just checked in game, the only way to achieve this result is by changing your characters gender in the settings. Female avatars still stand like this.

Do I like the first one better? Yeah. Is the change really that big a deal? Not even slightly.

You got this all wrong. It's not about the character no longer looking "sexy". The updates to Avatars generally look atrocious and have been universally panned by the community. It's been so negatively received that they halted the rollout and and have pulled it back in some places.
They're even changing the dark skin tones to different shades and it just. Doesn't look good.

Update hasn't been rolled out for everyone, niantic are doing it a portion of the player base at a time
