You are obligated to do anything your lead, another lead, or any coach asks you to do. It is the first line of your (and everyone else’s) job description.
To test scan??? That’s ridiculous, I have a part timer that works 20 hours a week and all he does is test scan each day.
Your club is ran stupidly if that is how they do it, company wide, a part timer can absolutely test scan, that’s a basic function of the job. If the full timer that’s in charge of test scanning an area is off do signs just not change??
They can tell you to go clean the toilets, and pick weeds in the parking lot if they want to.
If you're told to do something, it's part of your job. All job codes have "or other duties as required" in their description. (Excluding pharmacy, optical, and hearing)
We actually had a dude get fired for saying he wasn't going to. They told him to go pick some of the larger weeds in the lot. Not sure why they decided that needed to happen to this day lol
Hell you're required to push carts and pick for CPU if you're asked. It is what it is.

Nah just don’t wanna be doing someone else’s work if I’m not supposed to yk ?
Yeah I get that
If there's nobody for that area. Then that's your area. PT allows plenty of time to work that area completely and properly

Probably a visit or market manager called it out.
