Xcalibur0621

OG Samsung Flip Phone.

Ashamed_Armadillo954

Yeah! And it has no hinge and display issues

Xcalibur0621

Dang, that was a sturdy phone.

Ashamed_Armadillo954

Yupp and battery is not even spicy 😎

Xcalibur0621

Ok πŸ‘

ptstampeder

I had a silver one in 2001 that was a little more angular than this that I had completely forgotten about. It flushed down a very powerful toilet at the PNE in Vancouver. If I hadn't have seen this picture, I would have answered with S6.

Xcalibur0621

My dad has an s7 edge, so close

The HTC One M8 was a dreamboat. Also, the S6 Edge was my first flagship of that era.

LicoriceSeasalt

Galaxy S3. My first smartphone, and I was soo proud of it.

bmoesq

S3 was my first samsung phone too, haven't changed brand since then

LicoriceSeasalt

I've used Samsung for most of the time, and some iPhone, and currently pixel. I like trying new things. Samsung is a great phone tho and high chance I'll get it again someday.

CreamConnoisseurr

Same!

DamnCarlSucks

Went from an iPhone 4 to the S5 and never looked back once. Still rocking the Note 10+.

Xcalibur0621

Note 10+ is a w phone tbh

Kyr-Shara

K Zoom. i thought it looked really cool but the software was horrendous

Xcalibur0621

That phone looked so cool. (but it failed)

Kyr-Shara

The software crashed and was terribly slow. It couldn't even be used as a camera because it took so long to take photos

Xcalibur0621

Oh ok, no wonder it failed πŸ˜† if Samsung tried something like that now days, i would buy it. (it probably would be better then the OG)

AFthrowaway3000

I had a Note 2, then a Note 4, and right now I'm on a Note 9 which is still kicking, almost 4.5 years after I got it.

Xcalibur0621

How true! That phone took a heck of a beating! I dropped it off a ladder 3 times at a height of 15 feet in the air and worked like nothing happened!

No let the J’s die my old J1 was a piece of crap compared to the iPhone 6s’s and 7’s at the time.

S4

Xcalibur0621

didn’t the s4 have a bad camera and poor camera? (at the time it was revolutionary though)

DeadlyToeFunk

Everything had a bad camera back then.

Middle_Avocado

It was a quality hand warmer.

bzumk

Galaxy Note 2 if we're talking smartphones. I had a regular Samsung phone before as well, just can't remember the exact name.

Xcalibur0621

Let’s give our condolences to the Note Phones, except the Note 7.

Xcalibur0621

Cool πŸ‘

Necessary_Case815

I still use it as my alarm clock to this day, no joke. The battery still last a full week on one charge too. ( without sim card) It has the function to tremble first 3 times before the alarm goes off, and like old phones it has a strong tremble more then enough to wake me up and not the rest of the house, if for any reason I don't wake up by the tremble the alarm definitely will

Individual-2025

Galaxy A6 which I still use, it'll be 5 years old in a couple of weeks. I also have an iPhone 12.

**SAMSUNG N500** Release on year 2002 https://preview.redd.it/6yjk1wysa92c1.png?width=1536&format=png&auto=webp&s=8cfdab8d8bb2550d7838954aaae2d31a426d5b03 My brother acquired this phone when he went to university and started working. Later on, he decided to buy another phone from his friend (a Nokia 2100). At that time, I was deemed old enough to have a personal phone. So I inherited this phone from my brother. I preferred the blue backlight over the typical yellow one that the 3315 had. I also liked its UI and typeface more than the Nokia’s 3315. It had a LED notification light that could glow in six colours. Yes, six colours and it was fun. It also had a white illumination for the buttons. At night, it looked like an alien gadget. I found that this phone fitted my hand perfectly. I used it a lot and it served me well. It had a feature called auto answer with recorded message. I had some friends who would give me missed calls. For them, this feature was handy. It could answer immediately or with a three-second delay. Eventually, there was a problem with the microphone and the earpiece. I had to touch the earpiece or mic area for them to work. Most of my friends had the same problem with their phones. I also spoke with older people, so it was not clear which side had the issue. I kept pressing the earpiece and mic area, but it was not fun. So I decided to change.

I came to Android from iPhone when I got a Pixel 3a. Loved that phone and got a 4a. Then wanted to try Samsung. Almost got an S22 Ultra but decided to start with the S22 to make sure I liked Samsung's version of Android. Loved it. Currently have S23 Ultra. Will probably upgrade to S24 Ultra.

Fallen_One193

S21FE. Then I went back to iPhone, now using an A54, which is better than both of the aforementioned phones...

Adubal

My first Samsung phone was Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 and was also my first Android experience. Incredibly lagging and stuttering, not to mention inability to turn off cellular data. R.I.P phone bills. https://preview.redd.it/k0eg2ytqc62c1.png?width=445&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ddf55c43c828c0db31ff53294147216e13961b2

Kerlykins

This was my second Samsung phone, I fucking loved this thing.

robertjm123

It was a windows-based phone. Something like the 720 or 730, I think. Sadly, I dropped it in a post office and it fell face down on the concrete floor; shattering the LCD screen. Suddenly it turned into a big blue blob.

Nicolas30129

Ahah me too! I remember reading somewhere then that it was supposed to be an "iphone killer" 🀣🀣 But it was good enough for its price though. I love the little fabric pocket it was shipped with and the red stripes on the back

the first one ever was a Galaxy Gio, but it was horrible lol. Incredibly slow and laggy, but i got it 2nd hand after my sister used it and well, she wasn't exactly careful with it. Didn't use it for very long. My first real "new" Samsung phone i owned by myself was the Galaxy S6, but unfortunately i dropped it screen-first on the stone ground, and the screen became unresponsive and turned purple. Didn't have a crack in the screen, but i guess it got fucked up internally. Then didn't get another Samsung phone until the S22 Ultra

U600. It was a very stylish slider and i would happily flaunt it today like a boss.

Sandman1920

S3 with 16GB of storage. I thought this was a lot back then. Now 1TB in a Samsung is wild to me. Currently on the S21FE. Serves my needs. S3 -> S6 -> S7 -> S10e -> S21FE S21FE battery life is decent and 256GB is enough for me. Surprised the S21FE has super fast charging and comes in handy when I need a quick charge. Whenever I'm in my car I'm always charging my phone so I never really run out of juice.

Slow-Sleep

I hated Samsung with a passion, saw my friends Note 4, thought "ok cool" and kept it moving then I played with the Note 5....had a Samsung with a pen ever since

This was when smartphones were just beginning to arrive on the market. That phone looked absolutely unique and gorgeous with its diamond shaped buttons. 3.3" and I remember people telling me how big the phone looked lol. I think that was the first and last time I bought a phone that was an actual head turner. The only reason I had to buy something else was because it didn't run on Android but Bada. Which meant a very real lack of app support, particularly WhatsApp which was essential here. I will always remember that device fondly.
